Thanks. Had a feeling it was ugly.

Analyze it all you like, but 0 for 3 on the PP is 0 for 3 on the PP. Change in strategy is required. I'd also be interested to know the shot block totals from that period.

Wings playing like they just got off the plane and the Yotes playing like they've had time off waiting.
-
This team can not/will not adapt to much when things don't go their way. QUIT SHOOTING FROM THE POINT!!!
-
Teams make their own luck. Like, not taking 90% of PP shots from 5 ft inside the blueline is a good start at making your own luck better.
-
That's the only stat that matters on a PP. Scoring.

So, how's that "Circle of Futility" set up working against that GIANT goaltender? ******* hell.
-
1 shot. Pathetic.

Good marking there Ericsson

My favorite part: He dismisses a rivalry between two storied franchises that have been in the NHL since its beginning and then sites a "hatefest" being better which is between two teams that have only had a rivalry since the summer. Brilliant stuff right there.

+1 for this. Very valid points made here as well as adding to my already existing concern. This part was particularly funny: then they go on to point out this: So the NHL forced the purchase of alumni game tickets on to fans that were already paying for Winter Classic tickets, and the reason given for not handling alumni revenue cuts is that this was "new to them"??? Correct me if I am wrong, but they would have known exactly how much money they were going to be making if the WC and alumni tickets were a 1:1 ratio.

If these two articles are any indication, unless you are a season ticket holder, tickets are most certainly hard to get. AND expensive. http://thehockeywriters.com/2012-winter-classic-ticket-prices-skyrocket/ http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/how-flyers-fans-are-getting-screwed-for-winter-classic-tickets?urn=nhl,wp15624 So, unless the NHL changes how tickets are handled this year, it seems like it's going to be tricky to get a ticket at a decent rate. I'm sure we could convince Conks with this info.

ESPECIALLY if it were that big.

This is all great news but sadly I can't see myself being able to get a ticket to this. Unless I come across a season ticket holder who can grab me one, I gotta feeling I'm watching this from home. No way I'm dropping upwards of $1000 for a single ticket to this, regardless of the size. I'm also concerned with how the league will handle ticket sales for all 3 separate events. Last year, if you were a season ticket holder and you bought a ticket to the Winter Classic, you had to buy tickets to the Alumni and AHL game. With waaaaaay more seating for the Winter Classic this year, who will be mandated to pay for these other 2 games? My guess; season ticket holders this year won't have to pay for Alumni/AHL game but the general public will.

If the rumors are true and the event gets split between Ann Arbor and Comerica Park, I'm guessing Ilitch gets a bigger cut of the Comerica Park events and the league gets a bigger cut of the Ann Arbor game.

14 game winning streak at home sealed on January 14th

Cleary channelling his inn Helm there

The past few shifts have been solid. Ericsson continues to be good and even gets a shout out from the idiots calling the game.
-
Milbury and Maguire. Yikes.
-
That might be the best period the Wings have played all year. I have nothing to complain about. Even Ericsson has looked good too!

BERT!!!!!
