Would Modano really be a game changer? I think that ever since he made those "my heart isn't into it comments" (paraphrasing here) that he's been in the doghouse. Add to that he's only had a fraction of ice time these playoffs and it's not too hard to see why he's stuck watching. If any changes were made, I think it would be nice to see a Black Ace step in for some time.

Despite history and a vast majority of posters on here, I'm watching this game tonight and cheering on the boys while sipping on a few brews. It just doesn't make any sense to do otherwise. GO WINGS GO!!!

I feel more sorry for people who are continually trying to spread their own misery onto others here. Maybe not everyone lives and dies by the result of what ultimately is a kids game. Maybe families and friends still use sporting events as a bonding experience in a building that is considered hollowed ground by most fans. Maybe people will continue to support a team despite what others view as a 'futile event' and make it a supportive send off for a team/organization that's shown Detroit 20 years of outstanding hockey. Maybe there are still some classy fans out there. Maybe.

The media loves Vancouver, which is why he got the nomination, that doesn't mean he's hands down to win it. If Vigneault wins, it will be against all the reasons why Babs HASN'T won it IMHO. Trotz has been up too many times not to win it now. Just because you perform miracles every season and nobody recognizes it, doesn't make it less of a miracle. In fact, his peers have already named him Coach of the Year in 06-07 in The Sporting News. Trotz works with nothing while Bylsma had the cushion of that 12 game winning streak to help after Crosby and Malkin went down. Also, Trotz has done this in the West year after year against teams with far more talent and facing heavier travel. If it wasn't for Trotz, I think the Preds would be in the relocation discussions at the very least. The time has come for the NHL to recognize.
