I don't think that is entirely true. There are still a handful of teams in the East which play a dump and chase, bang it out ugly style which you don't see in the West. All you have to do is watch the last ten minutes of any Rangers game and you will see two exhausted teams dragging ass up and down the ice. Your opponent doesn't have to win to suck the life out of you over 82 games. Endurance is a much bigger factor in the East.
-
I want them in the West for hockey reasons, but not necessarily because it is better. I just don't think the Wings team or the organization is geared toward or necessarily equipped for a full schedule of crash and bang hockey in the East. They just excel with a skill based system. With some retooling I'm sure they'd do fine, but I'm not ready or anxious to see them retool. I'd be happy to see then greatly increase the number of inter conference games though.

Yes, but you will be behind. You will be able to drop your two lowest scores (the first two you missed) and will have a 0 for week 3. Its a long season though so who knows?

A lot of people in north Jersey are Rangers fans too so the fanbase is a little split. I live 10 minutes or less away from the Rock. It's a nice arena, but it's in Newark which is not so nice. There is a subway train (the PATH) which runs from 33rd St in NYC right next to the Garden and goes to Newark a few blocks from the Prudential Center. It takes about an hour or maybe a little less. Its much closer than that time would suggest though. The owners hoped that being near the PATH would get more people from Manhattan out to Devils games. You have to consider that most people who make a lot of money and pay a lot of money for sports tickets work in Manhattan and either don't want to go to NJ, or if they live there have a difficult time getting to the arena for a 7-730 weeknight game. Traffic around there weeknights is usually terrible. For most people its just easier to go to the Garden and the Rangers are an original six team.

MGD is one of the foulest non malt liquors I've had. Natural Ice too.

I've done some simple Mr. Beer brews before which came out well. I have a new 5 gal setup I have yet to try out, but have a batch of European Double Bock to make when I do.

I hope you brought enough to share with everybody.

It's the same old rule change league BS. Overcall the new rule before the all star break, then selectively ( not on Penguins) enforce after.
-
Guys regularly get their clocks cleaned while shooting. This is no different. The only reason this could be construed as blind side us because he turned his hips to shoot. Clean hit.
-
I don't like the sound of that, but if that's what he's thinking I'm guessing Flip is gonna be moved to the third line. He can act as a defensive stop gap for them, while maybe Bert can bank a couple in off Modano's shinpads.

Looks like Big Lou is backing Maclean after all: Devils' GM supports John MacLean Maclean is loved by long time Devils fans so he does carry some weight, especially since basically everyone is wary of Kovy. Rookie head coach or not, he has a long history with the club including one ring as a player and one as an asst coach.
-
Huds doesn't engage physically enough to usefully play on the fourth line with those guys. I say healthy scratch him for a couple games and get Abby on the 3rd to get them going. Then pops Huds back in there and send Abby down to Millers spot.

I added a couple of those mugs to my cabinet too. Too sick today to hit the Founders Old Curmudgeon in the fridge.

Yes please.

I don't expect the top line to carry the team, but I must say it's a relief to see they can still put 5 on the board. My worry from last year had overlapped a little that they would have to rely mostly on defense. Now if we get Huds some points any residual "ZOMG Hossa''s gone! Watta we gonna do?!" will be permanenty gone.
-
In some sense it was a defensive hit too. He had the puck and saw someone bearing down on him. Most other Ducks would have finished the check on Kronner, and that is what he was prepared for. Instead, Selanne let up and was Krushed.
-
Apparently it was Maclean's decision. With $100M on the line, I wouldn't be surprised to see a coaching change before the all-star break.
-
your PMs are full, so sorry but I gotta write you here. can you please not reorder your picks? i use a spreadsheet to score and it kind of makes it a pain in the ass. it really helps when everyone does it the same way - i don't have to look at the teams, and just enter it as home or away.
