If you want to start pointing blame on this team then both Jimmy and Z would be at the end of the list. Our defense is awful. Kronwall couldn't clear the net on the Flames first goal and both E and Kronner were standing right in front of Jimmy on the third goal which was the back breaker. The problem is that the Wings don't have a 1/2 defense pairing. They are playing guy's like Cleary, Miller, Eaves, Abby, Sammy instead of bringing guy's like Tatar and Gus up for some much needed 3rd line offense. Tootoo Helm Abby/Miller should be the 4th line after that it should be offense on the top 3 and speed. If Ken Holland and Mike Babcock can't get this team into the playoffs and they don't bring in some change then one of them has to go because its a what have you done for me lately job and Ken Holland has not done s*** lately besides sign washed up has beens. It is a short season and we don't have time for s***ty effort sorry.

Wings win 5-1 after Holland grows a pair and trades Mule, Cleary and Kindl for Iggy and Jay Bo. Jersey switch in warm up Get it done.
-
Cleary had just about played himself out of the league before the Wings gave him a camp invite so the Wings owe him nothing. He has been great at times since picked up but those days are done. He is taking dumb penalties as well.
-
It was a very exciting game. Did the rookie take his goal celebration a bit too far? Probably. But he is young and playing in the best league in the world that he has worked his ass off to get too. If it stops now then no biggie. if he does it again Smitty will set him straight. Edmonton is a very exciting team to watch.

Brunner and Howard have been the only bright spots so far. Franzen is about the same as last year lazy and slow. Yet he continues to get ice time ahead of guys that are busting their asses and that will go to the front of the net. As much as I hate to see Z and Pav split I do think that it had to be done because the 2nd line was not doing anything. Franzen and Flip didnt work last year, hello!

injured Colaiacovo Out 3-4 Weeks with Shoulder Injury

What did Ken Holland Think he was getting with Carlo? He is made of glass and has been his whole career. With the Wings losing Nick and Stuart we needed guys that are durable not this guy. If the talent pool is thin take the guy that will play 82 gms for ya. I am starting to question the direction that Holland is taking this team. It was easy for him when he could spend spend spend but a few of these last picks are ???????? Carlo, Commie, Sammy, Hudler, Quincey, Emmerton etc -
I was just thinking the same thing. Not much else on the market so why not throw an offer sheet at PK. Even if the Habs match, it sends a strong message to the Wings D that either you start to play or your gone. Holland has been way to loyal and players are too comfortable. A shake up is needed if things don't improve soon.

Did we not see this coming? Holland did nothing to replace those that left. He picked up scraps that nobody wanted. Brunner might be able to make it in this league if he has some size on his line but the DZB 1st line is getting pushed around like they are kids by the Blues. Mule looks like the lazy sob he was last year, Cleary can not stand up and takes dumb ass penalties when he does, and don't even get me started on the D as they ******* suck. Howard is playing his ass off as usual and appears to be the only Wing that has any heart. Emmerton and Mursak don't belong in the NHL period. Abby and Tootoo are to afraid to go out and kick some ass. Ken Holland and co s*** the bed this off season by not making this team better. I know they did try but their job IS to make it better or fail. They failed. Every team in their division is better, yes even CBJ and the Red Wings are not and in fact they are going backwards. This is just one game and not worth throwing in the towel yet but I think we have been so happy to get hockey back that we have forgot the hole that this team was left after last year.
-
Sucks for Gomez and Redden. I know that they are getting paid but as any hockey player knows you want to play the game. I think these players if not on LTIR should have to be waived or exposed to waivers or ? Starting to see too much of this happening where a contract doesnt work out. Needs to be something done. Souray, Redden, Gomez etc
-
I think that the the surprise of 12/13 will be the fact that Ken Holland was not able to fill the holes in the Wings line up. Ken Holland has not let us as fans down yet but this is not looking so good so far. Losing Nick and Stuart in the same year will hurt this team much more then some realize. I just hope I am wrong.

Holland losing his moxie? Is Detroit slipping as UFA destination?
Red Crazy replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
I sure hope that these two live up to the expectations that we have for them. Smith for sure has to perform -
Not sure that (as the team sits now) I would give the Wings the edge against Minnie or Nashville. Edmonton one of these years will rock the west. What scares me the most is that some of our more injury prone players go down this season (Z and Kronner) then look out!

Holland losing his moxie? Is Detroit slipping as UFA destination?
Red Crazy replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
Thats just the thing, we will never know for sure. My thought is that if Parise and Suter wanted to play in Detroit they would have either agreed to the 90m or told Kenny to match Minnies 98m offer. So in that way of thinking they chose Minnie over Detroit. But throughout the whole Suter/Parise signing I never heard or read once that Detroit backed out because the price was too high. -

So are you saying that you think Holland would not have matched Minny's offer if givin a chance? He would have in a second because Ken Holland was ALL IN on Parise and Suter. They chose Minny. I think Ken Holland is a good GM but you can't really say that he did a smart buisness move by not signing Parise and Suter to big contracts because he sure as hell tried to. If I missed your point please explain. -
The Preds had no choice but to match. The team they have been building would have been done without him. I wonder though how the fans will treat Mr. Fatwallet now after he boxed the team he is captain of into paying him. It shows loyalty!
-
If he is that soft and a turn over machine then why would we want him? That is not who you want to groom Smith. Do not want.
-
I think maybe they should let Babcock hand out the money lol. Kenny is being too tight with his offers. It is not as easy to attract players here as it was a few years ago when the Wings were Cup favorites every year. Not that I want him to do something stupid but come on make a move to better this team already! I have a feeling Doan will not be a Wing.
-
I agree with all of this but I would give the owners a little more then 50% maybe 55%

I think this type of behavier goes on a lot more then we realize with NHL players. These ARE kids blowing off steam. Should Kane know better? Yep. He seems to be a bit of a slow learner. The problem I see with him is that he tends to party with regular joes that love nothing more then to take pictures of him him wasted. Dude, grab some of your buddies that you trust and rent a cabin somewhere and get at it if you want. In a world full of social media and cell phone cameras you have to be a lot more careful then he is being.

With cap space to clear, do Flyers become a Wings trade partner?
Red Crazy replied to Yzerfan1999's topic in General
Would you be surprised if Holland brought him back? Not I. It's called the Detroit Boomerang effect. -
Well this makes it official, Weber will not be a Wing. I can't blame Philly for the offer sheet. They wanted him and went after him. They forced Nashville to the plate.

I can bet that Franzen's totals would be not so great if he played for the CBJ. Nash would pot 40-50 goals with Pavel.
-
I think that is just what we need. I am affraid with the lack of effort our team was showing at times last year bringing in Semin is a huge risk. Has to be a short term for the right $
-
Can you imagine the amount of lazy a line with both Franzen and Semin would have? Thats a whole lot of lazy.

Red Wings make "helluva" offer for Nash, no response
Red Crazy replied to stevkrause's topic in General
There are no reports anywhere that state what names were involved or even IF this indeed even happened. I will believe it when I see Ken Holland quoted by a good source.
