One thing that I do know is that I do NOT want Ericsson grooming Smith. Smith is young and does not need to pick up any of Ericssons bad habits. Kindl will be the odd guy out. Smith will be 7. Not saying I like it though.

I say clean hit. Kronwall should have let up maybe but the hit was clean.

The sad thing is this goes on a lot more then it is ever reported. My wife and I and our two young sons are huge Red Wing fans from Manitoba. My wife and I have traveled to Minneapolis and to Edmonton to watch the Wings. We wear our Wings jerseys and we act very respectful when there. We have been chipped at a bit but that is about as far as it has gone. However my boys are getting to an age (4and6) where I really want to take them to a game but I am scared of some idiot scaring my kids. Hard to teach your kids to be good fans and sports when some drunk ******* scares the crap out of them.

What do you think needs to be done to fix the PP/PK
Red Crazy replied to Jeff6851's topic in General
The Power Play is aabout as predictable as the sun coming up each day. That fallowed by the fact when they do get it past the wall of defenders at the blue line our wingers usually lose the battle in the corners. The big shot from the point fallowed by the Homer tip in, is getting old. Every team in the league knows this is the plan. So what needs to happen to fix it? I think Babcock and co. need to come up with a new system or new style of attack on the PP. We need a Brett Hull looking for open ice for a big shot from the circles as well as going to the point. The best PP is the ablility of having lots of options. Shoot the freeking puck would be a start. -
You make some good points. He may not win the Norris this season but the tools this kid has at his age if he continues to grow his game and tightens up defensively he will no doubt win his share.
-
I am sure that Nick will be glad to pass the torch to Karlsson. Karlsson's stats are freekin incredible. If Karlsson doesn't win this year there is something wrong.
-
Big E out for a month, Quincy goes down with a bad groin, Lidstrom is day to day and we give away a depth guy....... Good couple of days
-
That lineup is great if they are healthy and Cup hungry. The two or three that mail it in will be what kills the team. Can they beat The Sharks and the Canucks? Maybe but odds are against them after today.

I agree but demanding trade then giving a short list of teams that you would accept a trade to and expecting the GM to take all the heat from the fans and media because they think it was his idea is a bit much to ask for. I like Nash but come on. Do I blame him? No but CBJ need to get a boat load for him and he is handcuffing them. Bad situation

They didn't get one damn thing but they don't seem to have a problem getting guys to compete every night. They as are the Preds and the Nucks very hungrey teams. We needed some of that injected into this line up.

D Commodore dealt to Lightning for cond. 7th round pick
Red Crazy replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Great for Commie but trading away some defensive depth for nothing in return seems a bit odd. Kindl and Ericsson have both been shakey. If Smith isn't ready then all of a sudden we are thin going into playoffs and all for a 7th rounder? AND coming on a day when both Lids and Quincey are listed as day to day? -
So if he drops down to the 3rd or 4th line (which I really doubt will last longer then pre-game skate) who takes his place? Nobody else is really filling the net.
-
So Ken Holland stands pat.....again. Says asking prices are too high and nobody wants to deal with Detroit. Is that because we have nobody that anybody else wants or? Who did we think that Ken Holland was going to get with nothing to offer? Ken Holland couldn't dump Hudler for picks when he tried last season. Z,Pavel, and Flip are not going to be moved so what does that leave us to sell? The 3rd line has been the only line thats playing so they are safe. Cleary, Eaves, and the entire 4th line in a package would not have got us a top six sniper. This team has to be re-tooled after July 1st. Ken Holland will need to make some tough choices then. Players need to go (Cleary, Hudler, Eaves,Homer) and some brought in or brought up.

2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

Kassian was available? Vancouver wants to win. They have made it very clear now. -
Very disappointed. The Wings needed to make a move to improve this team either by adding depth or making a small roster change to send a message to those on this team that don't compete that they're not untouchable. The teams that give us fits all got better today. If we get Hudler re-signing is our deadline deal I will puke.

Nashville is a better team going into playoffs and just sent Suter a message that they will be a contender going forward. Look for Suter to re-sign -
Mule does not compete and that is getting to be a huge problem for the Wings. If all he provides is a few goals that are usually gifts then he is replaceable for a player that may not score more but that brings more to the table.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?
Red Crazy replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
If you changed Smith for Kindl it would be tempting. We still have a ton of talent on the farm and Pominville would make a huge impact in a Cup run -
Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?

I agree that Mule won't be moved but who goes? We all seem to agree that a sniper is needed and some more grit would be nice but who goes? -
If Hudler is second with 20 then we have a few that are under producing. Maybe too many set up guy's and not enough finishers? I think Ken Holland needs to find a legitimate sniper. A couple of minor roster changes are needed also to get some hunger into this team. I don't think Hudler will be re-signed even though he is not bad value, I just don't know where he fits if a sniper is added.
-
I am not sure of how easy it would be to unload his contract and still get a decent player in return. If you offered CBJ both Franzen and Hudler for Nash would they even do it? Not saying this is a good idea just making a point btw.

Wow. Awesome read thanks for posting.

I agree that we can't win every game. I agree that Ken Holland and Mike Babcock probably won't lose their jobs.LOL I am not crazy though about letting Franzen have a pass on giving a s*** during the regular season because he wakes up for the playoffs. In my opinion if he does not perform this year in the playoffs then perhaps he can go. His team needs him now with Dats out and he once again is nowhere to be found. Work ethic is contagious good or bad.

LOL, I would love to know at the end of the year how much money the Jets have sold worth of mechandise! It is everywhere in Manitoba, and everywhere you go somebody has something Jets on! Its great for the City and great for hockey!
