I thought that overall He was very good. He did take a couple minor's at the start but once he settled down he was great! I am sure that he will make E a better defenseman. That being said, If He re-signs and Nick and Stuart stay then is Ericsson traded with Kindl and Smith moving up? Quincey is a solid pick up for the Wings!
-
Can you only imagine if they do make the playoffs! The MTS Center is the loudest, craziest arena in the league now. It will be nuts if they get into the playoffs.
-
I am not 100 percent sure but I think Babs put his line out a few seconds before the icing. Quincy looks like a huge upgrade, he may teach Big E some defense with any luck! Ken Holland needs to find 5 more Helms before Monday.
-
Bad call on the icing. But why the hell was Franzen on the ice with a minute to go? We only have another 11 years of his lazy ass play. Wait until Mr.clutch doesn't show up for the playoffs then what?
-
Franzen on the ice with a minute to go?????? Captain dependable. Might want to watch the point buddy
-
I don't worry as much when Ericsson is on the ice

Brown is exactly the type of player the Wings need. This game is showing that we are weak down low and are in desperate need of players that will hammer other teams dmen. This team has enough tools to make a good run in the playoffs but we are still not hard enough to play against. Brown for what ever it takes to get him.

There has to be better out there that would bring a bit more to the table. I like him but isnt he just a tougher version of Abby? Where would he fit in and at what cost?

TSN Gord Miller is reporting Hemsky to Nashville for Ryan Ellis and a 2012 1st round conditional pick. -
I never said "This game means everything" but if you think any NHL coach does not look at the schedule and pay close attention to when the big match ups are coming up then you are crazy. Is this a must win game? No. Does Babcock want to win every game? yes. Will this game determine who will win the Cup? No. The point I was trying to make is that all big games give the coach a feeling on how their team is and how they compare to teams that they might play come playoff time. So will the players and the coaches treat this as just any old game? They had better not or they will get smoked. Vancouver is right on our heels in the standings and home ice advantage is huge. I will agree that Vancouver fans are making this up to be the Stanley Cup Finals. One can only hope that the Wings spank them and they burn their own city to the ground!
-
It's a big game no doubt. I think that it will be used by Babcock as a measure to see where his teams at. He will for sure have this game circled on his calander.

Why would Rick Nash want to go to Toronto? I can see Boston,Philly,NYR, but the Leafs? Thats as screwed up as saying Hudler is a better all around player then Nash....Steve Nash maybe but Rick Nash and Hudler are not even close sorry to break it to you.

Who Could be Dealt at the Deadline?
Red Crazy replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
I have think Commie has played well givin his lack of playing time. I am just not convinced that he is the depth I would want going into playoffs. The Wings got very lucky with the play of Joey as of late and it looks like they wont have to go after a stable backup. I think a depth move is all that is likely for the Wings. Like you mentioned about the high asking prices, I think the sniper we all need will have to wait till July 1st. There are so many teams on the bubble right now that I don't think we know who all might be available yet. -

My guess is that Holland and co. will use the upcoming Canuck game as a measuring stick as to what their deadline deals might be if any. Kindl has looked a bit shakey in the last couple of games. I don't want to see him go but a rental of a 5-6 defenseman would give us an option. If somebody goes down with injury. Commie is not what I want to see filling in in the playoffs. -
I guess I can take this back! Kubina to Philly per twitter
-
I can see Kubina and Hemsky being Red Wings Feb. 28th. Not saying I'd be happy about it but Ken Holland gets paid to run this team and I don't.(probably a good thing)
-
I think that the Preds now have a big slow defenseman too!

Not sure if he is a fan favorite anymore then any Jet in Winnipeg! When I look at their roster on capgeek I think he looks like he might be dealt. How about a package of Kane and Marc Stuart for Kindl and picks or? -

on the subject of Jets what about Kane? Reports say if the Jets are sellers come deadline they might look at moving him for prospects and picks. -
Saskatoon could probably do it if Winnipeg can. They are nuts about hockey and they may have more people in their drawing area then the Jets. With strong ownership it could happen.
-
Have you looked at point totals for more than this season? Nash is having an off year and he is still keeping pace with Mule. Nash could be a 70-80 point player for the Wings. Franzen seems to be in the 50 point range. I cant see him ending up a Red Wing but if his list is short and the Wings are on it they should take a stab at getting him.
-
I think Holland needs to at the least see what it would cost. My guess is that Nash gave a list of teams that he would go to. If Detroit is on the list then we have a good chance. I would trade Franzen over Flip just because I think in the years to come Flip has more upside. Franzen is a great player but he is streaky and lazy at times. Rick Nash brings everything to the table that Franzen does but I think Nash is a better all around player. Nash has put up some great numbers in his career with no help. Franzen plays with the leagues best and his numbers are just o.k. I am a Mule fan and I would do this trade in a minute. I don't even want to think of the Canucks, Hawks, or Blues getting him.
-
I wonder how good Franzen would be if he tried?
