WTF happened to Abby? He used to hit people and fight the odd time and just be a pain in the butt. I think that Jimmy will be ran over more now that other teams know he can get rattled and not one player on the Wings will do a damn thing about it. Shame on them.

The Jets are blowing out the Canes 4-0 in the second right now. Being from Manitoba I have been following the Jets a lot. They are a hungry team that usually plays hard every night. If the Wings are not ready to play this team could surprise them. Team effort and the Wings should get the two points! For anyone who loves hockey I suggest watching a Jets home game! The crowd is nuts! NHL hockey has found a great new home in Winnipeg.

I want to get the experts on LGW opinion on what this team needs to be a true Stanley Cup contender once the playoffs roll around. This team is lacking something and I just can't put my finger on it. In the past the media and others have pointed to goaltending as the hole in the armour but I don't think that you can say that with the year Jimmys been having. The defense for the most part is doing o.k with Lidstrom playing great and White is proving to be an asset. The forwards however seem to be all over the place. Not one of the forwards is playing lights out. It's not like they are playing that bad but it seems that nobody is stepping up during an off night to sneak out a win. Have the players become comfortable with the fact that the wings always make the playoffs and that they never trade players? After playing like hell for the last two games they are givin the day off today, so is it coaching? I know it is still early in the season and that no team ever wins all its games but what I find frusterating about this team is the lack effort some nights and that nobody will stick up for one another or plays with an edge. How many times will Franzen get punched in the face before he will push back? If the Blues had hurt Jimmy would anyone have stood up? When Kronwall was hit from behind did anyone do anything? I think that the current roster could be contenders this year if they would dig down and grow some balls when the going gets tough but until then it looks like it may be a first or second round exit team. Flame away.

So if this team is lacking motivation how do they get back their hungar? It does seem like it has been a problem for the past couple of seasons.

I saw the replay last night but they never said if there was a penalty on the play, was there? Tootoo is a dirt bag. Should he be suspended? Not in my mind. It is up to the Sabres to take care of the weasel with a good beat down. Hats off to Miller for giving him some shots but shame on the Sabres for not kicking his ass for it.

Stuart is declining rapidly???? and played poorly for two years??? He has been great for the Wings for his contract. Who would you want to help our young guys coming up? Ericsson? talk about not earning his current deal. If Stuart wants to be closer to his family that his choice but the Wings will miss what he brings.

It's easy for Crosby to do this kind of stupid s*** because he knows the league was his back. I am waiting for the day when someone nails him for his spoiled brat acts. He could be such a better player and role model for kids if he would grow up. Bylsma has to remember that he has Cooke on his team if he wants to talk about classless players.

Do you really think the Caps would go for this? If they want rid of Semin that bad I think it is a steal for the Wings. I would love to see what Semin and Dats could do together!

No argument here but can those players be had for what Stuart could be re-signed for? I know we have lots of cap space now but if Lids does retire the Wings will have to fill his spot and getting a top d-man won't come cheap. I don't want to re-sign Stuart long term just a short year or two extention to help groom Smith and or Kindl.

I think Stuart is a lot more needed on this team then most of the LGW faithful give him credit for. If his contract was the same as it is now for a couple more years I would be happy to re-sign.

I watch a lot of Edmonton games. They are fast and have a pretty good power play but they also can take a lot of dumb penalties. If the Wings play for a full 60 min and put pressure on their D the Wings will be fine. This is a team that never quits! 4-3 Wings

They are very fun to watch right now. They look like they are having fun! Good on Edmonton, they have been waiting a long time for these young guys to shine!

Coaches are always fired because the players are not performing. Fair or not, it is their job to make sure that the players are playing well and if not to make changes. Babcock is a great coach but needs to change things up a bit more often.

I never have and never will say that Cleary sucks. In fact he is one of my favorite Wings. I stated that he has not looked good for awhile. Cleary works hard there is no doubting that but he is could be replaced by somebody that could contribute on the score board as well. Perhaps you think that in order to make a trade you don't have to give anyone up? Or if you are so against a trade why are you reading a trade thread?

I would be up for trading Dan Cleary. Not sure what he would have for value but he has not looked good for awhile.

Brett Hull because we need a natural scorer. Steve Yzerman because this team has never had the heart it was had since he retired.

Ericsson to me is not getting any better. He has been givin lots of opportunity to grow his game and improve but every year the same thing. Costly turnovers, caught out of position, and a serious lack of using the body. I have no idea what Kenny and Babs see in this kid but I do trust their judgement. I do think that big E will be moved if his game dosen't improve this season. Kindl in my mind has more up side at this point but still has some learning to do. All in all I am happy with our backend. Our young players ( Smith and Kindl ) look great!

I will admit waiving him gives us nothing. It has been suggested that he is a bit of a dressing room distraction and rather then him cause trouble for the rest of the team maybe he should go. This could go two ways. He has something to prove and comes out with an awesome season or feels that he is unwanted and becomes a huge pain in the butt.

Hudler should be waived before the start of the season if nobody wants him via trade. Somebody would claim him wouldn't they? We have the cap room to eat some salary this year.

I think the same can be said for Commodore.

If we are going to take a chance I like the Dallas signing of Souray for 1.65 because I think he has more upside then Commodore. Souray is injury prone but I think he has a lot to prove.
