Kopecky has been playing better in the last 10 games. I think that both Babcock and Holland see something in this kid and I think we have to trust them on it. I think he will be a Maltby replacement someone to grind, shutdown, and PK without putting up alot of points. That is my take.

Thanks for posting, that was a good read! Nice to hear that Hossa is that close to resigning! I still can't see how they keep both (Franzen and Hossa) but thats why Kenny is great!
-
Anybody know if they stay in Minnesota? My wife and I are driving down there on the 21st. We got sweet tickits three row behind Detroits bench!

I'll take Cleary 6 days of the week and twice on Sunday. There is no better quality then heart, Dan will do anything for the team. He blocks shots, hits, grinds in the corner, takes hits to make a pass, hell he even fought Pronger which is two feet taller then him. Franzen is a gifted player as well but Dan brings something to this team that we need more of from all of our guys. Heart. P.S LOve that Newfie comment.

Because Sammy would likley hit him in the mellon with an uncontrolled blast from the point! (Cleary Style) Wings 5 Pens 4

Nice to see Kronner and Rafi getting some points but again too many cough ups in their own end. These two need to get this fixed soon. Good game by everyone but we need 60 min not 45.

Avery needs to be shipped in a box with no holes to the KHL. Avery and Ray Emery together would be fun to watch from a distance!
-
Hossa!!!!! WOW! We need this guy bad, sign him first Kenny! I thought Cheli was a beast tonight was really into tossin guys around, great to see at 47 lol Rafi and Kronner were brutal again. Ozzie was.....well better, it might be the win he needs to get back to form. 2 points tonight was key and the losing streak is over!

Just wondering if anyone else on here is concerned about Nick's elbow problems? Clearly it is affecting his play. I have heard the word surgery tossed around about it and was wondering if anyone knows anymore? Do the Red Wing staff know more then we do?
-
So what your saying is that he walked away from all the money that the Oilers offered him and signed with the Wings because he wanted a one year deal so he could play with Gabby????? Sorry but I don't buy this rumour. Why not go to the Wild for one year if he wants to play with him so bad?
-
It is not Hartsburg. Look at all those coaches in the last three years, it is time to make the players accountable in Ottawa. Alfie needs to go to shake things up.

If Holland was not scared to sign Z long term I would bet that he won't be afraid to sign Hossa long term. Leaving the whole loyalty thing out, Hossa would be a much better bet then Z due to all Z's back problems. Nobody can ignore the fact that Z's back could come back to bite us in the future big time. Long term contracts are a risk with any player but going in know that the player has back trouble scares me a little. If Franzen has another good season and another great playoffs he could be worth 5.5-6m to some teams, I am guessing that he will go for the money at this point in his career. I do however think that if Hossa is to be signed it would mean that Kronner and Flip would have to go to make space. Would this be worth it?
-
No kidding. The sucks about Stuart but it could have been and it did look like it was going to be a lot worse. I sure hope Hank can get back in so I wouldn't have to be so nervous about his long contract/back problems!

Osgood has worst save percentage in the league
Red Crazy replied to Dave Anderson's topic in General
Could it be just a Cup Hangover????? cause it sure looks like it to me. I am not saying that the season is over but we all can admit that the Wings overall have not played great hockey this year....not bad but not great. They have been coasting along up until now playing with just enough effort to win. ( look at the one goal games and who they were against) Our veterans are tired looking even our guy Lidstrom is not playing well. Lets face it they had a really short summer and this has taken its toll. I am not saying that there are bot a few players that need to suck it up but over all we look tired and I hope Babcock uses his cap freedom in the next couple of weeks to rest some of our key guys. -
Should the Red Wings Fire Assistant Coach Brad McCrimmon?
Red Crazy replied to Winged_Wheeler's topic in General
I say NO and it is because I don't think that the way the Wings are playing can be blamed on him. I don't think that firing an assistant coach will have any effect whatsoever. -
I think Babcock and Holland see something in this kid that none of the rest of us are seeing.
-
I would trade Kronner and Flip for Boumeester in a second. But I thought that Stuart had a NTC?
-
I couldn't agree with you more. Kronner and Flip= 6m in cap space. Hossa anyone?
-
Hard to say what happens next. I just can't see Ken Holland going past the deadline with 7 UFA's. But he has surprised me before!

As much as I like him as a player I think that the team could benefit by moving him. I think that there would be alot of teams interested in him regaurdless of his performance this season, he is a top six forward on most teams and at 3m thats not a bad hit.( for a top 6) After todays game I think he could be replaced by Abby or Leino at any time. I would also move Kronner as much as I like him, he has been not playing very well this year and I think that for 3m he should be much better. He started out slow and he just might be getting worse. Meech is smaller but moves the puck much better and if paired with Stuart I think he has a chance of being another Rafalski in the years to come. It is not that I am saying that these guys are not both great players it maybe better in the long run to move them and use the 6m to A- sign Hossa and bring up a couple of Griffs. or B- to go after a rental Dman at the deadline and then sign Hossa. Just my 2 cents!

Wow great pics! I was able to get tickets to the Wild-Red Wings game on the 21st at the Xcel Energy Center and I noticed in their rules about the use of digital cameras it says that as long as they don't have video recording that they were fine. Do all arenas check for this? My only camera has this feature and I would like to take it.

I love how much needed energy Downey brings to the ice. But lets face it he's not that great of a skater. I wish that all of our 4 line players would give us this kind of energy because this is what the 4th line should bring night after night. Glad he got one game.

" Ozzie is the best goalie ever" or " Ozzie sucks" the bottom line is that the team is playing better in front of Conklin right now and Conklin IS playing better then Ozzie so start Conklin for a few games and get some wins going. I do not agree with riding things out with Ozzie, his confidence is shot and that will not come back with nightly shellings. I think Ozzie was or is a great goalie but this season he has looked old and tired. He is out of position on a lot of goals he lets in and his recovery time is terrible. A short summer and being another year older I think could be the problem. START CONKS! For those of you that make remarks about spelling and grammar... GET A LIFE! (not everyone is as perfect as you)

After 4-0 I was wishing it would go to 7-0, I think this team needs to get blasted to get there s*** together. The Wings have not played well in SIX games now and I hope this performance tonight will snap them outta this funk. I think that it was a poor showing from Ozzie all the way to Babcock. 5 min to go down by 2 and you get a PP and you don't put the big line out??????? WTF Mike? Ever heard of a time out? I guess its just me. Good night.
