Team Canada looks great. and so do the other countries as well. Its bound to be a great tournament where anything can happen. I know that you could make a hell of a team with the players that didn`t make the cut on some of these teams!

In 2010 Nash was a beast. He was playing in a two way role then as he will be this year. Some players seem to rise to the occasion when playing for their country. Nash is that type of player. I am not a big fan of his but I give credit where its due.

He is a great player but with the style of game he plays I worry that his body just won't hold up to the abuse.

Its great for him! Maybe this will help with his confidence going forward. I am a little surprised given his injury and his play so far this year. Maybe our d just sucks after all.....

Not sure if Kenny would ever actually do a big blockbuster deal. I wouldn't trade Howard. I would trade Mule to a team looking at a long playoff run like the Sharks in return for Boyle or a similar puck moving D man.

I agree 100%. While I don't agree with everything Babcock does either I do think Ken Holland needs to get off his ass and do something about this defense. Quincey, Smith , and Kindl have been dreadful at times. Kronwall has been just average for a few games now as well. Danny D is young and will make some mistakes but his upside is huge. This team is not hard enough to play against and it starts with soft defense. Stuart made guys pay for driving to the net. He is missed.

This really sucks. Holland needs to go shopping asap. Put Quincey and a couple prospects on the table for a real D man.

I am starting to think this teams problems are a lot to do with the way this team is ran by Bab`s and Holland. Its clear that Bab`s has his favorites and will play those guys before players that are working twice as hard and have more value to the team. What kind of message does this send to the rest of the team? Smith, Quincey and Cleary where -7 in the first period and didn't miss a shift. Because of all the injuries and call ups we now know that we have lots of players that are NHL ready. I am going to hate seeing these guys get sent down so Cleary and Sammy can keep there roster spots. And don't give me the cap bs if Holland wanted these 2 gone he would find away. Holland made a big mistake signing Sammy, Cleary and Quincey. its time to admit it and make moves. Its a good thing this team is in the east because they would not make the playoffs in the west.

This is the truth so Babs needs to shut his trap about playing the best players each night. This is absolutely a cap move but there are 2 duds on this team Sammy and Cleary that are taking up 2 roster spots from guys that deserve to be on this team. Just wait until more come back and Jurco gets sent down and Cleary stays..... its going to happen.

Babcock claims to play the guys that work hard but yet Cleary is done and still draws into the lineup. Every player outplayed him last game but yet Tootoo gets sent down.

Glad to see Goose back. Not happy that Tootoo got sent down again though. Sammy and Cleary need to go but somehow Cleary keeps getting into the lineup even though he doesn't deserve a spot. We need the points 3-1 Wings. Merry Christmas to you all

Call the fight what you want but at least the women showed some push back on both teams. We have watched our goalies get ran our best players get hammered and nothing ever happens. Laughing at the way this fight happened have you ever watched some of our players in a scrum????? just sayin'

Paterson played great even though Canada lost. Still talk Mantha could be cut yet. Didn't show up much today, although that can be said for most on the Canadian roster

I don't think that Babcock's job is in danger at this point. I do find it funny that so many are blaming injuries when this team has been playing uninspired hockey all year. Injuries are part of the game and its great teams that can find a way to win with a depleted roster. A roster shake up is more needed then a coach/gm change. Too many on the bus that are not pulling their weight.

I believe that the Red Wings could turn this around but will they???? This team has been satisfied by just sneaking into the playoffs and only doing enough work to get by. Sooner or later that will catch up to them. When you lose games that you should be winning (FLA) its hard to put valuable points in the bank for times that you are slumping or full of injuries. This team has a lot of problems. The defense is not good enough, the forwards are not playing good enough, and Howie is in a slump. On paper this team is above average and should make the playoffs but in reality I'm not sure they will. Fans can blame injuries and HBO being the problem but that won't help get this team into the playoffs.

The Wings would have been a much better team with Ott then Wiess. We are way to easy to play against.

Sure injuries have been a big problem but its not like this team was tearing up the league before the injuries started. And its not like all the errors that have been leading to goals against have been all made by rookies. Kronwall has been terrible lately. A puck possession team needs a very good break out to be successful, ever notice how sloppy we are at leaving our zone? I think the D core has a lot to do with the problems this team has at the moment at both ends of the ice.

I couldn't agree more. Even Z's injury could be part of the beating he takes each night he is on the ice. This team needs some muscle and some heart. I have seen more push back from Tatar then almost any Wing this year. and that is sad. Its really easy to blame injury but there is a lot wrong with this team. Babcock is an amazing coach but even Scotty Bowman didn't coach teams forever.....is the message getting old? A big gritty D-man would be a good start.

^Agreed. Our defense is not good enough. Kronwall had a really off night as well and that is never good for the Wings.The Wings need to trade Quincey, Kindl, and a prospect on a seasoned D that plays tough in front of our net and won't be pushed around.

Weiss will be bought out if this kind of play continues. Sammy, Weiss, and Cleary are all big mistakes on behalf of Holland. Maybe Babs plays them together to remind him...lol

The Orpik hit was clean. People can call him what ever they want but this hit WAS clean. Thornton will get a big suspension which he probably deserves. Thornton went after the wrong guy Neil should have been his target. Orpik paid for the cheap shot antics of his team mates. Crosby, Neil etc.

First White then Quincey. The Wings have brought in some D that have really gone to crap lately. I think both Kindl and Smith could have used a veteran D to help groom their game a bit. Quincey is not this player. I wonder what Cheli is up too? lol

He deserved either term or big money not both. We have seen to many of these big long goalie contracts that turn out real bad and handcuff the team for years.
