after the strike, at least for me, Center Ice when up in price! I thought that was rather strange coming off a year long lockout. MLB Network does show games during the week. Thats on the lowest level of regualar digital cable for me. here is a link from TSN's site where acheived games are. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=684 they WILL have Game 5 on there, but I don't think it works live, just sometime after the game. There are other Wings games on there now. No software to download and totally free. I tested watching game 4 and it worked great. the second period automatically loads at the end of the first one. Periods are about 35mins in length due to commericals being cut out. there's also internet streaming of live games at various sites. Enjoy.

this/ I don't have alot of annimosity towards Col. now, and although I haven't paid attention recently, I will say they drafted fairly well back then. Dalllas had the least amount of home grown players on their team of the 3 Western Conf. winning teams over the last 15 or so years. Back in 07 when we lost to the ducks I feel the refs let alot of the clutch and grab go. I don't feel they were the better team at all. In fact, the DRW organisation told Ottawa that our series was called loosly and that they should be prepared for that. there's no way I feel the ducks are a better team, I do think at least some of it depends on how the refs call the game. If they enforce clutch and grab, obstruction, not letting guys slash and crosscheck away in front of the net advantage Detroit. not saying line changes and heart do not matter but the style of the play allowed matters, more like the "new" socalled obstruction free NHL will benefit Detroit.

great comments, we weren't getting the puck in deep enough that's for sure. I feel Hiller has been overrated, his d-men really help clear the rebounds. if there was one positive to take from the (barely) 3 OT game it was that we roll 4 lines and all that ice time may now be showing up for the (S)ducks. I actually hope they put Hiller back in. Let's Go Red Wings.

because there are too many new owners, too many investors, not enough hockey people in the game anymore. how do I know this, because Kenny Holland, master Gm, said as much once. And he's right. the Board of Governors, aka, the owners of the NHL franchises, are to blame as well. I hate Bettman as much as anybody but it's the BoGs that employ the Napoleonic One. They are both at fault. Hossa7.4 out

of all the hits Kronwall has made how many times has he broke someone's nose. go home troll.
-
OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he left his feet a spit second before the hit, what a dirty player , he's dirty, just like Kronwall.

you know, I really hope this is just Wisnewski trying to play mental games as well. If not, hockey players sure have become a bunch of babies lately. it's not bad enough we've got last years Finals opposing coach whining constantly to the media about obstruction when coaches have an orderly and legal way to bring concerns about the officiating to an NHL rep but we've had opposing coaches start the whining before the series even starts. the idiocy of the heavily-penalised ducks players calling the Red Wings dirty is dare I say "Rovian". Lately I feel like I'm not watching and listening to a hockey series but rather cable news with "pundits" firing verbal jabs for political gain. Can't the players just play, the coaches just coach? in other leagues if the coaches critisise the reffing they are fined or suspended. Why does the NHL allow this to go on? Is it because they if gives the league more exposure? maybe there just more media, more blogs, more portals to use an NHL website term if you like. maybe there's just more attention in the wireless age.
-
exactly, maybe if Niedermayer hadn't been clutching homer (he was penalised on the play) Homer wouldn't have had to turn like that trying to get free. it was not dirty.
-
tell that to Scott Niedermayer. According to his post game comments he clearly heard the whistle before the puck when in the net. "That's hockey I guess" He Scott, turn up the Belltones.
-
you know all I can say is there is a thread on another well known hockey board about this topic and 95% of posters believe it was a bad call and the Wings got robbed. This includes Anaheim fans and even an occational Pittsburgh fan. Far less here think the same. What a strange thing indeed.
-
Holmstrom never would have hit Wisniewski if Niedermayer hadn't been interfering with Homer. The only reason he turned around so quickly like that was b/c he was trying to get away from the clutching of Niedermayer. Niedermayer was called a penalty on it BTW. Niedermayer was literally just grabbing him when the puck wasn't around.

see, this is what I don't understand, they let goalies get run all the time. Ozzie has already been run in this series and no calls, he got hit in the head last night from behind by a Duck with the the puck completely dead when everyone knew it and don't tell me one of the crew didn't see it. Still no call. They only care about protecting the goalies sometimes IMO. They let that go on all the time because that's "playoff hockey" but on a scoring chance hurry up and blow the whistle b/c it appears to be covered or sight is lost. and Homer gets rep calls when he's not in the crease or interfearing. But everyone knows this is a huge RW advantage so it gets called ticky tacky. Just like faceoffs in last years finals. Notice the one goal we scored last night Franzen was screening in front but we did get away from standing in front of the net allready once during this series. it's just very frustrating.
-
I have a better idea, just call a penalty in OT like one in the first period.
-
how much time do Flyers fans spend on msg. boards apologising for this immoral conduct. "He shall be stripped of his P for conduct unbecomming a Flyer" thus it was written.
-
welcome to the modern NHL where good old fashioned hits always get some dumb retaliation. Can't todays professionals just take a solid hit?

really? the only inferiority complex going around is the one affecting alot of red wing "fans" on here. I swear more are worried what some opposing fan who registered 2 days ago to troll thinks than admitting that these types of hits happen all the time in the NHL from lots of different players. Only I don't see their fans sucking up to others.
-
NBC/VS/TSN are doing a great job of highlighting it so he does get a rep for it. Pronger does aim for the head alot well, alot of times guys nowadays will raise their hands or stick right before they get hit and with him being short .......well
-
what's worse? 55 leaving a split second before he legally checks somebody open ice or Pronger leaving his feet hitting somebody from behind while he jams his elbow into someones head into the glass concussing them? geesh, red wing fans, stand up for your own team.
-
are you guys insane? I see this happen all the time with other players but it sure does get alot of play when a Red Wing does it. The media is very powerful.
-
why does he call it out when a RW does it?
-
when has that ever been called USC in the NHL? it happens multiple times every period of every game in the NHL. he also called Todd marchant a great person or something to that effect, he's one of the dirtiest, knee on knee hitters ever in the league. why not call out Pronger for his reaching behind and grabbing Holmstroms helmet and rubbing back and forth. Isn't that Unsportsman Conduct?
-
if you watch the video of this on youtube pick up Brown right when he is in the crease , just before he starts up ice, pause it if you have to, you'll see how he charged towards Hudler looking at him , he knew exactly what he was doing. He was headhunting, plain and simple. Add to that the fact that some anaylyts on TSN were saying how some ducks were upset with Hudler before b/c they thought he got his stick up on Beachemin (sp?) and you'll see this was pre-meditated. I think it's time for the skill players to play this game. It takes no skill to take a cheap shot at somebody's head. Watch the last scrum when they were all piling in on Ozzie, about the 7th and last guy in was Pronger and all he could add was to start punching on a Wings head from behind. Coward. This team is full of them.

because a guy "has his head down" he deserves to get a blow to the head. let's eliminate boarding, I'm mean, you gotta be aware out there, put your head on a swivel, right? geesh, this is hockey mentality from the 1970's, esp. considering we're on a red wing forum and we've got the most skilled team in the league. I'm really surprised at the reaction. you prob. like the fact that the game is called different in the PO's or 3rd period than the rest of the year. maybe the NFL should stop calling holding in the 4th Qtr of games so the refs don't "influence" the outcome of the game.
