1/4 GDT: Red Wings 5 at Oilers 3

Come on... this is LGW, everything is ridiculous. Remember two months ago when these same people were calling for Ozzie's head? It's pretty simple, Ozzie screwed up on a softie, Howard's been average, and our defense hasn't been able to play a full 60, gotta work the kinks out soon, but I say Osgood's been making some big saves lately, and Howard was not. Howard's definitely working hard (imo) but things aren't hitting him and that's why we play the backup.

Howard, Stuart, Eaves possible Tuesday against the Oil

Howard's slumping, Oilers suck, so let's break him out and get his confidence back with this. Still would like to see Ozzie get some more starts in the next few weeks and not just because of the back to back games. Good news for Eaves and Stuart though.

Eaves day-to-day with "Upper Body Injury"

9 point cushion on St. Louis for the division lead... we'll make the playoffs and when we're healthy we can take any team.

    Zetterberg questionable, Rafalski game-time decision

Well... better now than June right?

Datsyuk out 4-5 weeks with broken bone in hand

*sigh* I was hoping it was only a sprain... hopefully he makes it back sooner.

12/15 GDT: Blues 2 at Red Wings 5

Our Captain scores a hat trick... he just can't be human can he?? Also, I think Hudler needs to practice his shooting a ton more... he's been showing some solid skill and his effort is on the rise lately, but he just doesn't seem to have anything in his shot. He might be worth something by the end of the year, here's hoping

    Howard's Great Saves

I was watching with my roommate and just sat there with a grin on my face... "Yea, that's my goalie."

12/11 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Devils 1

Devils aren't scoring much this year, if we can get a few by Marty early we have the game. Ozzie just needs to play solid like his past two games.
  9. Didn't he have almost a 3.00 GAA last season? I can understand if you're bored of playing at a low level, but at least show why you deserve the boost!

    Since Olympic Break

Win % = .750. (33+7+4 = 44 games) Still amazing but not quite 80% Even with stats like that - we wouldn't match up to Bowman's teams of 131/132 points.

    Superstitions

I would assume that superstitions remain the same regardless of live or replay. As for one of my superstitions... I'm not supposed to watch the game in class... This term it was Thursdays, last term it was Tuesdays. They have yet to win a game if I'm supposed to be in class... but I don't take superstitions seriously so I watch anyway.

Gorgeous hip check by Dan Hamhuis

I caught that, the WHAMO bit ruined it for me, I only think of Pierre with that. I may have just been at a loss for words in saying that

Gorgeous hip check by Dan Hamhuis

you had me until "WHAMO"... i then cringed at the thought of Pierre. Reminds me of the Abdelkader hit back in preseason, little better though.

    Controversy in Pittsburgh

Feels like a bogus excuse... What stopped Toronto/The War Room from saying "the whistle was blown before it went in, no goal." or "the puck went in before we heard the whistle, it's a good goal." The way calls are being made today, there's no way to know what's good and what's bad anymore, the problem with the board is that we see things as "always favouring the pens and hating on the wings." I don't watch enough of the Penguins' games to say "well every call goes in their favour every game". Just an error by the NHL who needs to make their rules black and white, this wasn't even worthy of grey area.

Well... it is hard to count to zero

    That's gonna hurt the GAA.

    good day but bad night....

haha, I knew after reading this we'd be in for a "whine-fest" of responses about the spelling. Honestly, if you can't read it, don't. I prefer to see people who use complete words, but this is the internet after all. In the future diehard, it may be wiser to edit your posts so that more people will read it. Otherwise you'll get this boring topic.

11/6 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Canucks 6

They better... I'm only happy with a PP of 20+% The PK had been awesome though, so I'm not worried about it. Just can't believe Vancouver is clicking around 60% in their last couple games (i heard 6 for 10 at one point)

11/6 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Canucks 6

Man... such a great game I hate ending on the losing side. Things just haven't gone our way tonight but good effort. Go home and rest boys, we got Phoenix to deal with.

Then again... if Osgood stays in his net there's about 6' x 4' to shoot at

    Central Division

I used to always put the Northwest up there, but this season it seems a lot easier than it usually is. (Calgary, Minnesota and Edmonton not playoff teams imo, Colorado if they're lucky) The pacific is competitive but still expecting the Sharks to take it. As for the East... I miss the days when the Northeast was the most competitive. Pre-lockout you had some solid rivalries between the Habs Sens and Leafs. Now most of them are bottom feeders. Unfortunately the Southeast still sucks. So Yea, the Atlantic and Central will probably be the toughest in the league this year. When we win the division again the bashers can't use their typical "Central division is weakest in the league though!"

Brown Gets ejected for clean hit

I think it's a tough one to call from the angle they showed. I don't like that type of hit, but I'm not sure he was targeting the head. Despite that though, if he did hit the head, it is no doubt the right call. If not, well it was close. I was expecting them to call it on that first hit, that one was beauty.

    Kronwall's Hit on Selanne:

I'm disappointed I missed it, but I've always loved watching games against the Ducks. Since 2007 they may be our biggest rivalry. (Arguable between them and the Pens for sure though) I say it was clean. Won't get suspended, NHL.com has a highlight of it under the title of "Lowering the Boom"

Draper to miss an additional 4-6 weeks

I get the feeling he would break the negative button even if it was around.
