Here's what I've seen: the Hawks play the Wings regular season game - they come out slow and get forced into coming out of a hole. They usually do this really well and seem to get stronger as the game goes on. Goaltending isn't much of an issue for them, they haven't allowed all that many shots I don't think, and Khabibulin is definitely like Osgood. They both play well when they need to, don't forget Bulin has won before. If the Hawks want to win, they're going to put on HUGE pressure in the second half, unfortunately, as we saw in the Wings series we do that too. It'll be boring first periods, great second periods and heartbreaking third periods, unless the Wings find their shutdown game like they have several times in the playoffs already. This is another series that will be decided by how hard the Wings are able to play. The Ducks series likely took a lot out of our boys, and so if we still have that extra gear, we're going to need it. It's a battle between the Master and the Student. Wings win in 6.

Ducks GM Bob Murray accused of cross-checking fan

It's bad enough he hit someone, but to hit a lady? That's the lowest he could have gone, worst part is that the NHL probably won't give a crap about it. -
GDT 2009 WCSF GAME 7: Ducks 3 at Red Wings 4
SDavis35 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in Hall of Fame
I give Devorksi an 8.6/10 (my favourite current Ref) Joanette about a 6.8 (usually fair) Compared to Brad Watson (4.2) Tim Peel (3.1) and Dan O Halloran (3.0) I'm happy- 1,913 replies

One of the most respectful Duck fans that's appeared this year. (this being my first year, so not alot of posters to compare to) People like you are the cool ones to have around The fact you took out names might as well be reason enough to keep you around. There was a good group of Columbus fans in the first round too, you'll always get some jerks, but hopefully we can weed those out - Wings and other Fans.

What if we pulled an exchange? ZDF and see how that works? (but i could just be crazy)

Wings are looking to make a third straight appearance in the Conference Final, which would be sweet and better than the pens. Although i don't think the Pens are going to be an appearance there every year, especially not with the League's "parity" movement. I think they've got a good core and all, but we'll see.

I do believe the title says "blackhawks advance" and nothing about the Wings, but this HAS been reiterated several times already... Now to my opinion/analysis! I see the Hawks as a team that's made it deep because their opponents failed to capitalize on rookie mistakes. It would seem that either that Hawks are really good at covering up, or the Canadian teams just didn't have good enough coaching (which with Keenan seems unlikely, but Vigneault (sp?) never really liked much) All a team has to do if they are to beat the Hawks, is capitalize on the errors, and play a solid team defence. Something that the Wings have shown they can do. As for Bulin, he's been through it all before, so don't underestimate the guy. His sv% numbers will go up big time against the Wings. Also of note: the Hawks are playing eerily similar to the Wings of the 08/09 season, so if the Wings show up in the WCF, it will be a rude awakening to the kiddies.

Uhh... all I can say to this game is WOW

Let's Go Red Wings! Once more to the WCF!
-
it's another one of those "auto-calls"
-
Hiller, no question about it. He responded really well, and kept the Ducks in it most of the night. If I were carlyle, I wouldn't even second-guess it.

Let's go Red Wings!

The bold is what I felt too, I watched most of the Sharks series, and I noticed that his rebound control was probably his weakest spot. Surprised to see he has another weakness of the 5-hole, but the Wings have the ability to just pick this guy apart.

This I agree with... something tells me the caps will be better.

maybe he's got the flu from zetterberg

I'm sorry, the correct answer is "What is, Henrik Zetterberg?"

Wings Recall Abdelkader, Howard, Kindl, Leino, and Downey
SDavis35 replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
There's no reasonable way these guys can make it in tonight... they're not gonna make the trip and be expected to play. I think that tonight's game will decide who should play. -
Devorski's good, usually consistent, though he is one who keeps calls even (within reason). LaRue, haven't noticed any of his games, so he's bound to be fair as well. I think this will be a really competitive game, and the whistles will be put away in the last 6-7 mins.

Which referee called the "penalty" on Stuart last night?
SDavis35 replied to Bump's topic in General
I think it was... unless the refs swap sides each period like the teams do (which I don't think they do) -
This is why I like Babcock as a coach, he doesn't dwell on games we lose, doesn't care about what goes wrong, or anything. He's constantly focused on the next game, which is where we need to be. As fans we get more lee-way cause we don't have to play, and I'm actually kind of glad that's the worst call against us, cause it won't be a big deal in the next game when we pick ourselves up and show them what we got.
-
Pathetic, how the heck does that ref not see that??? Was that Peel? Cause he doesn't even deserve to be there, he's blind.
-
he has been dropping his stick alot tonight...
-
NHL did what they deemed appropriate, we can move on. I think Anaheim is lucking out though, two potential suspensions they've gotten out of.
-
Interesting... I watched the video, and the hit was at 8:35 when I looked at the clock it had JUST turned to 8:34 We'll see what the League says.

No no no!! They're not biased, my roommate was telling me how "homer" they were for the wings! I'd Like to see an analysis from Cherry who's ALWAYS saying "keep your head up"
