POST cause the rules say so
-
0.906 Sv% in his career is pretty good, even better (.914) in the playoffs. He's also #12(?) in # of wins. His numbers are good! Babcock tells the truth. Did you know Patrick Roy (arguably the best retired goaltender) has a worse GAA than Osgood? Good D or not, Ozzie bailed us out a few times in the playoffs last year. Ozzie's not having a good season, the Wings have to work around it. Good teams will find a way to win.
-
Just 10?
-
My thoughts exactly. One regulation loss, which was a one-goal game anyway.
-
Wow? Wings PP?? Sweet!
-
oops, you're right Hossa did get an assist... Still mostly Lids and secondaries tho
-
And somehow, Datsyuk, Hossa, Zetterberg and Franzen have no points
-
out of those 215 Goals, how many has Lids scored by wristshot? (let alone from that close)
-
i figure they gotta let some of it go... My quality is bad, but didn't really look like much of a hook.
-
anyone else think the 3rd line working welll tonite?? HAH and they scored at the same time...
-
One-goal game, going to be decided in the third period (like the latest trend has been) 3-2 Wings. GWG to Zetterberg. Ozzie make 21 saves on 23 shots. Wings outshoot Canucks 34-23.
-
umm... good luck finding that then! Wings dominated tonight. It is a factor that the Ducks were tired, but that's NOT the only reason the Wings won. They did what they were supposed to do and picked it up a notch. When we get a few games like this, I'll be content with the defensive play. Ozzie did what he needed to do, the defense didn't allow too many horrible giveaways and the offense kept shooting. We even held the puck in their zone for long stretches of time. It was a solid effort, and I'd like to see more of it. (as would many of the other wings fans and a certain coach) Not to say I am discontent with the Wings this year, just feeling like we're not playing the way we used to.
-
hmm, we need a replacement song for Living On A Prayer at this point... feels repetitive. Got the win though
-
Looked almost like we were on the PP for the last minute! Haven't seen that all season Let's get a goal and really get this game under control.
-
My dream had a 2-2 tie... and I was playing. So factor in my lack of ability and it's at least 4-2 Wings (keeping the score realistic)
-
heh, Scotty giving the boys a nite off? I was thinking we should do that, glad to know I'm not the first. To me, February was a huge learning experience for us last year, and really drove us to be solid contenders for the cup. I'd like to see that drive again, hopefully not risking too many points to get it.

I think the only way to beat the trap is to be aggressive. I was thinking up maybe a strategy to beat it, and the only thing we can do is to have guys sitting at the blue line waiting for the dump-in then fight our way into position. It takes a tough team, not finesse. I think our players can do both, but we actually have to do it.
-
Yep, I agree. Last February, IMO was the best thing that could have happened to the Wings. Not only did it rest up some of our better players, but also gave us a renewed sense of desire for wins. Maybe it's gunna take another bad streak like that before we pick it up. OR maybe the two 4-game homestands(?) this month will give us some time to really get our game back. I would LOVE to see Howie in tho! If not for the cap, it probly woulda happened already.
-
I still say that he should be stopping at least 15 of 16. There have been a few this season where Ozzie shoulda stopped the shot, but didnt. I feel like alot of them were turnovers too though. For me... Hasek's retirement was the best day of my career as a wings fan
-
Welcome fellow noob! I agree with everything you say. We aren't playing the puck possession game like we did last year at all, but we are getting wins. It's not an excuse, but we need the upcoming homestands to practice our style back to perfection. The schedule doesn't seem to have allowed much time for that, so we're sloppy. And as for the finish, sounds logical to me. I would say Zetterberg may sign in Jan/Feb he's not due until the end of season, right? And they probably are trying to keep their cap space as big as possible just in case?
-
Yep I agree, there's going to be a point this season where we need a goalie to bail us out, but luckily it's not every night like Florida/TB/Ottawa. I'm sure Ozzie will find that form again, he changed it up last year and had the best season of his career, mostly due to the competition I think. Both goalies have been allowing a couple soft goals, so let's bring Howie up for a couple games and put the pressure on! (Not sure, does that mean they have to clear waivers?)
-
You can't trade 2 high talent, high skill stars of a team for one player, especially those two, without creating riots and an uproar from the fans. I wouldn't trade anyone on the Wings that would be able to get a guy at Getzlaf's level.
-
Great D-play by nash! and thumbs up for the Hossa!
-
Just win it now, don't care bout that
-
that may be too much to ask. Maybe add it into the idea of a "challenge" like the NFL. (I'd say you get a delay of game if you're wrong rather than lose the lone TO)
