Whereas I would like to know why the players have been so concerned with the term "Hockey Related Revenue." If we assume that HRR is any merchandise sold that involves using the NHL name or any of its teams, then I would consider it a pretty fair deal. My thought is that all contracts be honoured in the first year; lowering their contracts by up to 4-5% of their current contracts in the second year (if necessary to reach an even 50-50 split) and so on until the 50-50 split can be achieved fairly. My hope is that however the deal is structured, contracts will be honoured regardless of what constitutes 50-50. It's also quite possible for the owners to earn more than a 50-50 split with this structure as well, so I think both sides would be interested to discuss it.

I feel like Eaves and Miller didn't get enough playing time... at least Eaves I don't remember what Miller was up to... As for my thoughts I think it's got to be a committed group of forwards following a better defensive plan from our coaches. PP and PK only work if the coaches and the players are on the same page and willing to change things on the fly.

it's been mentioned a couple times already, but we've got to crash the net. Most of our goals have come from rebounds flying into our hands, and we need that to happen more. Rinne's picking everything out of the net and the preds are picking apart our passes, just hammer it on net and pick up the rebound! Enough of the fancy plays and just make it happen.

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but there was a point where the CBC cameras were focused on Bettman, who at the time (late 2nd I think...) looked like he was falling asleep. If Bettman really was falling asleep, hopefully he realizes that the penalty issue had gone too far on a night like that. Hopefully there won't be more than 10 penalties in a game for this series. Both teams are very well-disciplined and shouldn't be getting more opportunities than that.

Ottawa went 3-1 vs. the Rangers during the season, so I see it definitely going 6 games. That said, the Rangers have the drive and I think they'll pull away in the end.

http://www.freep.com/article/20120325/SPORTS05/203250702/1053/sports05 someone at the Detroit Free Press goofed up and forgot to change their title.

it was posted already here I think Pavel is an easy player to love, and I almost forget that he was an underperformer in the playoffs early in his career.

I've always had this website favourited for near the end of the season. love watching how drastically it can change with one win by a team fighting for the 8th spot.

I think the big thing is the entry. Anytime we try to get in we either lose the puck while trying to walk in, or we lose it during the set up. I wonder if we should just give our 4 lines a chance at the PP and see who's willing to step up, or even take a page out of Brent Sutter's book and play 5 d-men on the PP. As for the PK... I think we just need to be more aggressive... but I think if we solve the problem with one of the special teams, we'll find the answer to the other.

6.2/10 It was a nice try but he didn't sell the deke quite as well as Dats does. And something about the way Datsyuk does it is so much more fluid and smooth. All in all, a nice gesture, he called it after Datsyukian I believe.

Well I think the playoffs usually start on a Wednesday or Thursday in April. The season ends on April 8th I think, so that would mean the 11th would be the official start date. My guess is the Wings start the Thursday... but that's unpredictable.

Joey Macdonald has been spectacular for a back-up goalie imo. I still feel more comfortable with Howie in net, but there's so much less stress than when Conklin has been playing. Hopefully we can trade off Conklin for picks or something so that he wasn't an entirely bad signing...

according to wikipedia Boston lost during the playoffs, which imo negates any wins after the season's streak. Also no mention of the streak though...

Hope this works... if we could photoshop a Wing into it... that would make it perfect

Would love to see what was happening before the huddle... would give a bit more context to the faceoff.

Amazing how clean a game teams play when they're facing the Red Wings... I know we're 1 for our last 20 PPs, but how many games has it taken to GET 20 PPs? we should have had several there in the second...

I want the Swedes to win because Russia didn't start skating until the third...

Ferraro says Rakell made no effort to stop... I disagree (am I gaining some Swedish bias?)

1. Keep checking the status of the shipment, as said earlier it may not have been possible to ship on the "holiday" monday (make up for new year's) 2. The website appears to put out the effort in which you can talk to them about the problem, so keep trying to contact them so that they are aware of the problem. 3. I notice a "Trustwave" symbol on the bottom of the page which SHOULD indicate the site can be trusted and is a legitimate online retailer, however the "click to validate" didn't work for me. That there is a definite red flag. Basically, you have a legitimate concern here, as their only contact comes in the form of an automated email... regardless, keep tracking your shipment in case you jumped the gun.

Nice to see the USA showing what they really can do. Shame it came out in the final period of the tourney. Also a positive that Canada finally faced some adversity though, they're going to be in for a surprise if they make it to Russia/Sweden.

What better way to end the year than with a shutout? Good game for Jimmy, he was stellar! Hudler's goal was a great shift, really saw that drive that he wanted to score on that shift. Go Wings!
-
i think they have a rule that a player can't win in back to back games (as he won it against Canada for his team, he couldn't win it against the USA) I'm quite happy to see our Wings prospects doing well this tourney hopefully it turns into NHL success as well.

Good to see Mrazek playing well, but the stats won't indicate that... Czechs just couldn't stay out of the box!
