Forsberg may steal Wings thunder with 'big announcement'
syntax replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
That's what I just heard as well. -
We have a lot of Wings fans at my office and we talk about the schedule constantly. We've come up with 2 reasons why the Wings, and hardly anyone else, play back-to-back games constantly all season: 1. The NHL schedulers buy up all the crack cocaine on the eastern seaboard and smoke it together all in one night, and that same night they draw up the NHL schedule for that year. 2. It's a Gary Bettman/Sidney Crosby afterglow conspiracy theory. In reality though, the Wings season looks like: Detroit Red Wings 39642 miles traveled 16 back-to-back games Around the league: most miles: San Jose Sharks 56111 miles traveled 14 back-to-back games most back-to-back games Columbus Blue Jackets 41305 miles traveled 20 back-to-back games least miles: New York Islanders 28126 miles traveled 17 back-to-back games least back-to-back games Colorado Avalanche 47889 miles traveled 8 back-to-back games With the disparity of these stats, I'd think it fully supports my reason #1 statement above...though I do not doubt #2 happens also. And about what 55fan said, I'm not sure how the league actually writes the schedule, but it seems to me that the league could put some kind of pressure on these venues to make NHL games a priority in said venues. BTW, I got my research numbers from the NHL Super Schedule @: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pc9...UPTYA&hl=en

Update from Ken Holland via TSN Tradecenter Radio: Hossa flew to Colorado. Has a stiff neck and bruised knee. WILL NOT PLAY TONIGHT.

Congrats to Ozzie for the SO. I thought he was solid in goal with good rebound control and positioning. Good game with a good fight too. Great night (besides the Hossa situation)!

Talk about no class....St. Louis really gooning it up.

Unfortunately, as many times as McDonalds pays them too. Though I am happy about the overall deal between McD's and the NHL, it's good for the league.

I'd bet money Leino is driving toward Metro airport right now.

Red Wings spokesman John Hahn said forward Marian Hossa has feeling in all extremities and never lost consciousness after sliding into the boards head-first at 5:24 of the first period in Tuesday's game in St. Louis. He was taken to a local hospital for precuationary purposes only, Hahn said http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...sa_carried.html

Good long fight. Nice to see, especially during a Wings game.
