It's very annoying. There's a salary cap for a reason. If you send a player to the minors/overseas...you should be responsible for 50% of his salary against that years cap. Only way I can think of to solve it. Above poster is correct about same agents/players being 'turned off' by how players are treated this way....but that seems like too small of a penalty to me. Wish we could have a soft cap with a 'luxury tax' in the NHL....oh well.

If true, this really came out of the blue. Puts us in a scary spot for defense next year, fan of Rafalski or not. I dig Raf, but if his knee is shot and his back is halfway there, it might be time to call it a career. I hope Holland can do something big with the money. -
This is good news. I'd be surprised if Hitchcock took anything but a head coach position, though I would not be averse to him with Babs. Chelios would be a nice look, too.
