I know it's counterintuitive but a good pick moving defensemen is as important if not more than a scoring winger. Go back and look at almost any rush where we've scored a goal (I'll grant you there aren't many) and you will see a good defensive clear followed by a nice tape to tape pass. We had these all the time with Rafi, Chellie, Lids and Stuart but our defensemen are just not built that way. The bottom line is that if we upgrade our defense, we'll spend more time in the opponents zone and create more chances. Increasing chances=increased scoring. Holland just hasn't gotten it done. He's tried but we still have Kindl and Lashoff as we wait for our kids to be ready. I would trade a Jurco another good prospect and a first rounder for a top line puck mover. Babs would too.

Of course there was a penalty on the Wings since they are winning. How else do you expect Columbus to win? On their own?

The effort through two periods exemplifies why we are a 7 or 8 seed playoff team. Zero consistency. PP is atrocious. The only difference from last year to this year is the fewer mind-boggling defensive turnovers.
