Last play was offside! -
I agree with others, I'm happy for him. I want to see him play hockey, even if it's against us.

It certainly felt like a new team. They were very energetic, fresh, and skating hard. It was a very entertaining game to watch and we kept a good Boston team at bay. Ericsson's turn-over was frustrating, but plays like that should be easily coached out. Ericsson had some pretty good offensive plays where he hopped up into the play and created chances. I really like that we're seeing a lot more youth this year. Yesterday's Red Wings were experienced but jaded. Today's Red Wings are a group of young, energetic guys lead by experienced veterans.

There's the Erikson we know and love!

Signed Wings re-sign Cleary $1.5 mill + $1mill in game bonuses

My dad noticed his new number last season and said, "If I were Cleary, I would have change my number and the name on the back of the jersey." -
He's only 30, so there's some good there. I hate seeing the wings trading great talent for short-term contracts on aging forwards.

Abdelkader ejected for "vicious" hit at World Championships

Yeah, I don't see charging, but it doesn't matter, you can't target the head like that. -
I would move a struggling US team to Hamilton and Quebeq. I wouldn't do any more expansion.
-
And a byproduct of this is that you get these wanna-be tough guys that go around cheap stuff like anything that Cooke does, and Boochich hitting DeKeyser in the nuts. I'm still very dissapointed in the 5K fine, what a joke.

I felt the Gustavsson did well.

GDT ECQF - Game 4 - Bruins 3 at Red Wings 2 (F/OT)
Holmstrom96 replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in General
Yup, if the Wings were competing more, I would have more hope. They played a really exciting first period, but gave up after that. I hope the Wings do the improbable, I'll still be cheering them on, but the reality of the situation is that we're done. I'll probably skip the next game, because it just hasn't been that much fun to watch. -

We need more steady pressure like we had in the first. -

[sarcasm]This is the playoffs. This won't be called ever. The only solution is to sign Stu Grimson and Joey Kocur to a 1-year contract. Just because people are trying to injure our star players doesn't mean that they should receive any protection from the refs. This isn't the Swedish Elite League.[/sarcasm] -

I don't agree. This should be stopped by refs calling penalties when goons hack away at star players without relent after the whistle. -

It's total BS that a skill-less player like Marchand is allowed to hack away at Zetterberg as Z stares at the refs asking why he's being cross-checked over and over again. Bunch of Boston goons. -

We can't win if Jimmy let's s*** like this in. We simply don't have the offense to make up for mediocrity in the net. -
He should have got a one-game suspension. If he got caught and was issued a 5+game penalty, then I could see forgoing the suspension. But he purposely did it when he knew he wouldn't be caught. The entire thing was very calculated, on purpose, and consistent with his character. $5,000 is meaningless
-
We need to score more, but we also need Jimmy to hold them to 2 goals. He stood on his head for Game 1, and had he not been perfect, we would have lost.
-
Under technicality, yes, it should have been a goal. However, the spirit of the rules is that you can't interfere with them. Imagine if there was a Blues player hacking away at Jimmy every time they released a slapper. It sucks, but I think the ref made a good call.
-
NBC announcers are the worst today. Andersen slashed the Blues' goalie, I don't mind this call.
-
NBC's pregame is really doing a great job of covering the NHL's playoff picture, as this is the most exciting time of hockey. Oh wait, NBC barely likes hockey and is instead showing a rerun of Jeopardy instead of having pregame coverage.
