    88 goals, 118 assists, and 206 points

    LOL. I wholeheartedly agree.

Holmstrom speculates that this is his last season

He won't do well there. He needs to be with the first liners to get the garbage goals and redirects. The third liners don't control the puck enough for Holmstrom to do his thing, and Holmstrom (offensively) doesn't really have any other tricks than standing in front of the net and getting his nuts chopped off.

Holmstrom speculates that this is his last season

I'm a huge Holmstrom fan, but I don't think he even comes close to deserving retirement, not even remotely close.

The "Who Will You Miss Most Next Year" Poll

My point: Chelios WAS good. The emphasis on the word "WAS" suggests that he is no longer a contributing player. I love Cheli, but he doesn't have a place on this team anymore, at least not a place that involves wearing skates during a game.

The "Who Will You Miss Most Next Year" Poll

He does not get results though, at least not for our team....

Yup, but you have to realize that those players that replace them will be able to play and contribute and get goals and assists (which also count as points!). You see, when the other guys leave, other dudes get to play in their place. Those guys will be able to contribute to the team's effort. You seem to forget that! I know we will miss Hossa, he was a dominating force in the playoffs with all that scoring he did. Now we have to make due with guys like Helm... 2009 Playoffs Hossa - 23 games, 6 goals, 9 assists, 15 points Helm - 23 games, 4 goals, 1 assist, 5 points Now that doesn't seem impressive for Helm, unless you forget that Hossa played on the first line with the Red Wings best players and got gobs of ice time while Helm played on the fourth line with the Wings 4th line talent, getting barely any ice time. No Hossa means more Helm and other people who are capable of putting in an effort.

The "Who Will You Miss Most Next Year" Poll

Holmstrom has spent more energy during a bowel movement than Chelios has put out during any game in the 08-09 season.

The "Who Will You Miss Most Next Year" Poll

How can he have another year in him when he had nothing in him for this season but slow-skating and give-aways?

60 votes, 0 for Kopecky... lol

Holmstrom has also redefined the NHL rules; you can do just about anything to him and you won't get a penalty. Elbow to the head\boards? How about no penalty and only a game suspension !

We're allowed to use other players in their place. You see, when we lose players we replace them with others.

Big NHL Announcement @ Fenway Park

Boston VS. St Louis - Conklin in net for St. Louis?

    Chris Osgood message board poster?

I saw Kris Draper and his family eating dinner once. I was excited and young, but even at that age I knew, without even being told by my parents, that approaching him and his family during dinner was a line that should not be crossed. I agree with others, these men and their families are all humans and they deserve the ability to live their lives. Many hockey players have been very gracious in the past when it comes to autographs. Mathieu Dandenault and Darren McCarty both took time to sign things for me when I met them at the Troy rink (and it was not a signing event).

    Bertuzzi

LOL Exactly. We don't need another McCarty; zero is enough.
  15. Holmstrom96

    Bertuzzi

    Agreed.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

Yup. And may I note it lasted until the end of the regular season as he did NOTHING in the playoffs.

    Future of The Joe uncertain...

    Yes, they're so active!
  18. Holmstrom96

    McCarty offered a two-way deal

Agreed. I love Dmac, but he just doesn't contribute anything at the NHL level. He doesn't score, he's not fast, he doesn't kill penalties, and he doesn't even fight...

Worst NHL Team Names, Logos, or Colors?

I like the Preds jerseys. When I get mad at the preds (they beat us) I call them the sexual predators.

Congratulations to your team for a great finals series

BTP, Thanks, I appreciate your kind and respectful words. I know a lot of people here might be upset, so you'll need to ignore them for now. As much as I think there is a slight conspiracy with Bettman, the league, and the refs, there's no doubt in my mind that Pittsburg is the better team, and they deserved to win. I still don't like Crosby though, but it was great to see Malkin get MVP, he deserved it. I thought Osgood would be a candidate, but he didn't steal the show enough to trump the winning team. Congrats and enjoy it. We will definitely beware of the Penguin from now on!

Who is worse to lose to

I would have rather lost to the Ducks rather than the Pens in the finals.
  22. Holmstrom96

We don't need to retool that much

Better than 28 other teams, not 29. I agree that we've obviously got a great core. Let's let Hossa gossa, that'll free up some cap for someone who wants to bring it.

    So, Crosby has his cup..

Not everyone can be a "model franchise".

    So, Crosby has his cup..

My thoughts exactly. Hopefully everyone will get even more pissed off.
