Would the Wings be better off had they Pursued Goalie Instead of Hossa
Holmstrom96 replied to a topic in General
Well, I think Hossa really comlpetes our offense. We did really well in the playoffs because Franzen woke up, which he hasn't done yet this season. I think the next big move the Red Wings need to make is to get solid goaltending. Conks is good, but he's not starter good, he's a good backup. We need a goalie like Columbus has, he's rock solid. -
100% agreement. Someone earlier mention one thing I did like. Have every game be worth three points. Win in Regulation = Three Points Win in Overtime\Shootout = Two Points Lose in Overtime\Shootout = One Point

Hossa injured vs. Blues, carried out on stretcher
Holmstrom96 replied to REDHASEK's topic in General
The hit wasn't dirty. Also, the Blues player that hit him immediately showed concern for Hossa, which was very classy. -
I bought into one of the ticket packages for a Dallas @ Detroit game. The seats were $21 a seat and it came with hotdog and pop. You can't beat that! There are affordable ticket packages, you just have to buy a little ahead of time. The best way to put scalpers out of business is not to buy from them!

I've been a rather big Osgood critic, but I don't think we should blame too much on him. Tonight there was an utter and total defensive collapse; like a bad dream where you're trying to do something but can only move in slow motion.

I think it means sexual predators...

Cheli doesn't fight, but he doesn't cheap shot either.
-
Rick Nash - I only hate him because he's good and doesn't play for us

Well.... I would say that I am not a redneck, but my earlier testimony\admission seems to counter that. This is my defense: because I was out on my father-in-law's 40 acre farm I became a redneck. Pissing on a shed = redneck Living in a shed that gets pissed on = more redneck than I am Funny thing is that I hate NASCAR, but I love going to my father-in-law's and talking with him, while drinking beer, and watching NASCAR, and I actually enjoy it, but I'd never watch it or drag racing back at home in Warren. I've got a quad (4 wheeler) too, but I also keep that out at the father-in-laws. So, I guess I'm a part-time redneck!

VERY excellent point!

You know, as fun as it is to make fun of southerners, here is a true story from Litchfield, Michigan: My father in law, shortly after a nasty divorce got a live-in new girlfriend. Things didn't work out with the girlfriend and the high school and college aged kids still living in his house protested. So my father-in-law kicked her out of the house, but she had no where to go, so she then began living in.... no joke... THE SHED. A 10'x8' aluminum shed, with it's barn-red peeling paint. My wife and I were only dating at that time when I would leave the city (Royal Oak\Troy area) and visit her dad's 40 acre farm. It was the weirdest thing, having a human living in a shed. We didn't really like her and would shoot paintballs at the shed and her brothers and I would also urinate on it. Ahhhh.... the memories.

What a Crybitch. Crosby shoves Ovie into his bench for no reason and then gets upset when Ovie fights back. Typical crybitch behavior. Just another reason why I like Ovie and can't stand Cindy Crybitch.
-
I like Ovie's emotion. Like other's said, as long as it's not taunting I'm fine with it. I'm sure it brings people in and makes the game more exciting.

I trust mine foot to Reebok.

I don't agree. This hit is similar to what Pronger did to Holmstrom. It's not as severe, but it's similar.
-
It doesn't look THAT bad, however: 1) It's an icing 2) He put his elbow to drive the other dude's head into the boards 3) It's their captain With all that factored in I think two games is fair.
-
You guys will love it. I've only been to a couple games in my life, most recently a Dallas game. The thing that surprises me about the Joe is that even if you're all the way in the last row you still have a great view of the ice. And I've got to give compliments to the NHL on the netting that's above the boards, I didn't even notice it!
-
Wow, I think he was probably still drunk from watching the game. Crazy Canadians. (Just kidding about Canadians being crazy...)

I'm in favor of both moves. Let's see if Osgood can get it together. Conks has been solid, his last game he only let two by him. This is what the wings need, the ability to win when only scoring 3 or 4 goals. Osgood has only been able to win when the wings score 4+ goals. I like Osgood, but we've got to do what's best for the team. As for Maltby, he's one of the best penalty killers in the league. He's a Red Wing to the core, but it's time for youth to step up. Lieno is MUCH better 5 on 5 and we need a better 4th line.

It wasn't a good showing, but let's review: Crosby: - Not as good as Hossa - Whines - Cheap shots all dang long - Talks s*** all day long - Never willing to back up all his talk with any action other than cheap shots Hossa: - Actually good - Not a whiner - Does not fellate Bettman - Does not fellate Mario - Isn't afraid to drop the gloves for his team (even if he isn't a good fighter) To recap, Crosby is a whiny cheap-shotting cry-baby *****.
-
LOL. Well, it was nice that the wings only needed three goals to win. Wings have a powerhouse offense that have made up for Osgood's current slump. Osgood's win numbers look good, but it's only because our offense can make up for his horrid GAA and save percentage.

HOSSA FIGHTS!

[sarcasm] BUT WHAT ABOUT SIDNEY CROSBY! OMG! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! Crosby! He's just so awesome! I just can't get enough of him! [/sarcasm]
