Many fans are understanding of all the advertising. It's sad that the next arena won't be named in honor of a man like Joe Louis, but instead will be in honor of the highest bidder. However, I'm with others that this various advertising gimmick is too far. It detracts from the most exciting thing in hockey, a home team scoring a goal. Goals are few and far between, and pivotal momentum points. Goal celebrations should not be marred by sponsors. Fans have been very accepting of all the various forms of advertising, including the computer generated advertisements that appear on the boards behind the goalies. Fans reject the DTE goal advertisement because it gets in the way of the atmosphere of the most important part of the game.

This is huge. Don't get me wrong, I love the Joe, but I hate standing in a 20 minute mosh-pit trying to get out of there. Connecting midtown and downtown would be wonderful. GO WINGS.

Me too. Cannot stand it! A loss is a loss. A possible alternative I would entertain would be this: Win - three points Lose - Zero points Win in OT\Shootout - Two points Lose in OT\Shootout - One point

Crosby was whining and crying after the game and took a shot at Rask as he was skating to the bench. Remember when Crosby lost and threw a tantrum on Zetterberg and Howard had to make a glove save on whiner Crosby's face? Crosby is one hell of a sore loser!

I've got a brother-in-law in Seattle who isn't a hockey fan, but he really enjoyed watching the Hawks and the Wings. Wings moving to the east might be bad for ratings, but it will really help Wings fans that can't stay up for 10:30pm games. The west wouldn't have been so bad if they could start the games at 9:00PM ET. Maybe even compromise with the west coast by starting games hosted in Detroit at 8:30PM, which would be 5:30 their time. However, I'm more than happy to move to the east. I think the rivalries with Toronto and Boston are going to be awesome. Wings played like shizzle for two periods, and showed up in the third. Refs have been blah. Refs gave another phantom hooking penalty to Big E. Wings with good momentum streaks in the third. The edge of my seat is occupied.
