Bring on the Sharks --- Again!

Some of them are talented on ice, some on grass. We need the lawn bowlers to keep their parkas on for a few more weeks. For the first time however I really like our 2-4th lines, particularly if we can get Ortmeyer back in the lineup. We now call the top line the "suck out" line. They are our stealth weapon. Their sole purpose on the ice is suck out the competitions best line, muck up the game for a minute or so, dump the puck deep and let the young guns get back to work. I represent the douchebag contingent once the puck actually hits the ice.

Bring on the Sharks --- Again!

Howdy Boy's Looks like we finally get the match up we all wanted. Here is to an entertaining series. I'd wish you luck but you don't need it with all that talent. Go Sharks!!!!

    How the west plays out

Were getting better, Clowe and Mitchell are skating with the team again. A little worried about Patty not skating yet, and curious when we will see Huskins. Assuming Patty and Clowe get back on the ice soon, we are in good shape. If Mitchell, Huskins, & Grier get healthy and are on the ice by playoffs we have some good but difficult decisions to make who plays, who sits. I have a feeling the lineup is going to look very different then we have seen all season come April 12th.

I hate to admit it, but on the whole, there might be something to this.

No apologies, this is all good humored. I do hope the teams meet in WCF, the "good humor" will be especially rich I am sure. Sharks in 7 (one for the ages).

I would agree with that. #1 seed means a lot more to the Sharks then it does the wings.

Hey the same was said of the wings in the 90's when they were retooling to become champions again. Hell the expansion sharks even knocked em out...go figure. I will agree that the West is a crap shoot in all reality. There are probably 4-5 teams in the Western Conf that could go all the way, but to say the Sharks will never win, because they haven't won is...naive.

Actually I am willing to bet that if the Sharks and Wings do meet, it will be that depth that puts the Sharks over the top. Our 3 & 4th lines are much more physical then yours and that will be the difference in a 7 game series. Not taking anything away from the Wings, your team is a scoring machine, but I think the Sharks would wear the Wings down in a long series. Combine that with the now likelyhood that the Wings will have to play the Preds & Flames before a matchup with the Sharks (assuming Sharks advance), and you have a very vunerable Wings team. All conjecture I know, but hey what the hell.

When was the last time the Wings won in SJ smart ass? Of course they have won in SJ, just like the Sharks have won at the Joe, what the hell does that amount to genius????

LOL, whatever helps you sleep at night. 50 wins with 6 to play, is a hell of a season, especially considering the injuries the team has encountered the last 2 months. Not predicting any outcome in the playoffs, but I think that it is naive to look at the past failures as an indicator of what is to come. This is a very different team then past years, from the coaching staff down, the stats/results prove it out. How that manifests itself in the playoffs is completely unknown. If I were to break it down, I would give the Wings a slight edge, but just a slight one: 5 on 5: Wings PP: Wings PK: Sharks Goalie: Sharks Depth: Sharks (slightly) I would argue that all injuries are blessing in disguise for the Sharks. The regulars (who were injured) are rested, and the rookies have gotten significant ice time and invaluable learning experience. The few that will dress are going to enter the playoffs with a ton of confidence knowing that they can play at this level) Experience: Wings If the Sharks win the Pres Trophy I wouldn't bet against them, but that's just me. The Wings are going to likely have two very physical rounds of hockey to play just to get to the WCF. I just hope the Wings and Sharks both make it to the WCF, that will be a series to remember.

I would take that bet. Hmmthesharks is a pretty upright guy, who calls it how he sees it. Win or lose he is the most consistent SJ fan on these boards.

Tootoo gets his ass handed to him.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Staubitz nearly leveled another one of your players trying to get at Tootoo, who nearly tripped over himself trying to get away, then skated half away across the rink with Staubitz chasing him before he finally engaged. The guy knew what was coming and ran from it. The tape tells all Oh and just because you are such an idiot here is another Tootoo beating

Tootoo gets his ass handed to him.

Tootoo is a moron. The only value the guy brings to the team is periodically pissing someone off to such a degree that he ends up in a fight, which I will give him credit for hangin in most of them but give me a friggin break. Greatest comment of all time was last year when JR was being interviewed during a Preds/Sharks game and was asked about Tootoo. "The guy is a dum dum, he can't play so he skates around looking for a fight with the smallest players on the ice, hes just a dum dum". Tootoo had this one coming, Staubitz is not used to losing fights and was clearly waiting for this one. Tootoo will now have to find someone other then Clowe and Staubitz to annoy in the future.

According to coach both injuries were considered "oowwees". I doubt we will see Goc anytime soon but Blake should be back for the Hawks game. Losing Goc would be a real bummer.

    Sharks-Habs 02/28

Figured you guys would love this: "We're just a good team," Thornton said. "We're just fast, we're strong, we're big, a lot of teams just don't know how to play us and really can't handle us and I think you saw that for 40 minutes. They just had really no clue how to stop us but I think their goalie played well, but we're just big and strong." This is about an hour after the game with MTL, which the Sharks lost. What a putz!

    Chelios lays into Lemiuex

And pragmatic! Irrelevant and yet still getting under the skin of Wings fans far and wide...LOL Hope he has the same effect on the Wings players, without doing something stupid I should add.

    Chelios lays into Lemiuex

Gotta say I find it pretty amusing to see all of the animosity towards a 42 year old has been. I hope that this might actually make for some good violence tonight. I am generally ambivilant to the guy, as I don't see that he adds that much to my team, but if he can get under the Wings players skins as much as he has their fans, then he is worth every penny he is making tonight. Go turtle!

    Dallas and San Jose tonight

This thread is getting a little long in the tooth, so I apologize in advance for extending the misery. However I thougtht it important to note that this Sharks fan does not think it is a shame that our team realized our biggest obstacle to winning the cup was the Wings and that Doug Wilson (who brings an admirable set of values, ideology and class of his own) chose to hire one of the brightest new prospect on the head coaching front. Yes he happened to be a Wings asst, but I am not sure how much I would put into the modeling themselves after the Wings thing. As I have posted around here recently, the two teams are similar but very different in terms of style, ideology etc. If the Sharks win the cup this year, it will be all the more enjoyable and rewarding given the effort that has been put forth to accomplish the task in years past.

    Dallas and San Jose tonight

LOL, too funny. I spend more time on other teams boards then my own, simply because I find it far more entertaining. The SJ board is the hockey equivilent of a dungeons & dragons forum complete with all the nerds and wackos. Hanging out in someone else's forum is a little like poaching a nice hottub & bbq when you are at an someone elses ski resort. Good fun Oh and f*** Detroit!
