That's not how he accrued those points, but clearly there is no changing your mind. I thought he had a good series against Dallas last year, but by your rational, NO ONE on the Sharks has ever come through when it matters, since they've never won the cup. Their season has ended with a loss every single time. Joe is 29. He's got a few years left to come through.

Ah, sorry. Haven't had a chance to read the thread yet. Pat was one of my favorites.

I don't have the stats from before, but since joining the Sharks Big Joe has 30 pts in 35 post season games. ~.86 points per playoff game. World class numbers? Of course not. "as limp as they come"? I think you might be exaggerating.

The Sharks were founded in 1991.

Just got home from the game and a little post game drinking. I think the best way I can put it, is that if you were to pick a game to take a non hockey person to, to show them why hockey is such a great sport, this would have been the game. Lots of big hits, very physical. Lots of scoring. The refs let a lot of things go, which surprised me, but I'll have to watch the TV broadcast before I start to criticize the officials. From a Shark fan's perspective, in the back of my mind I was very worried that the Wings might skate the Sharks right out of the building, and that it had the potential to get ugly. If there is any team that could exploit the Sharks' injuries on the blue line, it would be the Wings. Despite the loss, the Wings showed tonight that you can't give them an inch...they can and usually do capitalize on almost every mistake. They made the most of their opportunities and did well to put 5 behind Nabby. I was pleased that my team stepped up to the challenge and got the job done in the end. After the all star break, the Sharks get back Luko, Blake, Mitchell, and then Roenick shortly after. I'm hoping that will give the team the boost to return to their early season form. I wouldn't be too disappointed if I were a Wings fan. Your team is amazing, and will be right there in the spring time, as always. We're just jockeying for position until then.

Sorry about that...not sure why or what happened. =(

SI: Future Cup Final to be played at neutral site?
TheSupafly replied to Antilles328's topic in General
I guess it depends on what team you root for. I didn't like the idea at first. Now that I've given it more thought, I still don't like the idea. So many things still not discussed. How they pick the location for the game, is it flexible/possible to change sites if a team in that city makes the finals... As a season ticket holder, if my team *i'm praying here* ever were to make the finals, I'd be pissed the F off if I got to go to less games because the NHL wanted to promote the game in other areas. I've shelled out my money season after season and when the cup finals finally come around, I want to be there...not watch fans in a neutral city get the pleasure. -
Hey guys and gals. I think we're all in store for a physical, playoff like game. I'll be there. Section 212 row 16, against the wall with my "Magic #" sign. Hope everyone gets to stay up and watch the game...it's always a big game when these two teams meet.
-
Wow...Matt you have some serious skills. That looks incredible. Now if only I could find someone to make up something like that for the Sharks...
-
You have no idea.
-
What? Of course not. It's no secret they've come up short the last 4+ playoff years. I referring to OP's lack of concern and his certainty of it happening again. I'll be more clear for you next time. Is there anything else you'd like me to address?
-
It's nice to see your players in the all star game. It's all pretty meaningless in the end. The Cup is what matters....not that I should have to tell you all that.
-
Please continue to think this way.
-
If that happens and I disappear, it's because I've killed myself. Call the cops if it happens.
-
No one has an easy road to the Cup. I'd rather see some team knock out the Wings before the Sharks get to them, just as I'm sure the majority of you would love to see the Sharks eliminated before they get to the Wings. As a fan, part of me wants to play the best and beat the best, but I also know that winning a tough long series against a difficult opponent can take a lot out of a team and hinders their chances a bit.

As if we need another reason to want to crush San Jose

If there's one thing we have in common, it's a hatred of that dumbass tootoo. Just hearing his name pisses me off.

1. It IS a two way contract 2. Yes he's old and there probably will be minimal impact from this move 3. H has to clear waivers first (like anyone else would claim him) 4. Believe it or not wings fans, it's not always about you! Just teasing with #4. The Sharks are fairly beat up at the moment. Pavelski isn't healthy. Michalek isn't healthy. JR isn't healthy. Mitchell hasn't played yet this season. Cheechoo isn't healthy. Every night we're playing McGinn, Cavanagh, Plihal....have you heard of them? Probably not. They need depth. An experienced voice in the locker room can't hurt either. Regardless, this move will barely make a blip on the hockey radar. -
I can do this for you.

When your team is on top for so long, it's natural to have everyone developing animosity towards your team. A lot is jealousy, but a lot is also the fact that when a team is on top, they're going to get a LOT of media coverage and attention. Other teams' fans get sick of hearing about Wings things and Wings that. No one is to blame, that's just the way things work. Other teams' fans are forced to hear and see lots of coverage on the Wings, and very little about their own team. That accounts for a lot of the bitterness.
-
St. Louis fans hate everyone. That many years of the playoffs without ever winning the Cup will do that to ya. I'd better be careful or my team might turn into the next Blues...

Sharks got to sit and rest and wait, while the canucks had played the ducks the previous night at home. They were tired and overmatched. Somewhat like when the Sharks went to Detroit and got skated out of the building.
