It was creative, and it's all based on truth. Posting it on a Sharks board is kinda asking for trouble. You're rubbing it in at that point, but it's the internet...no harm really in my eyes. Other people will get butthurt though. I'm just too depressed to feel anything at this point.

Confidence is hesitant. I wouldn't ever say I'm confident...hard to as a Sharks fan in the playoffs. I'd say I went from cautiously optimistic, to very optimistic. In my mind all they need to do is steal a game in Anaheim tomorrow. They've won one there already this series, and had success there all season. If they can manage that, they'll get game 7 at home, and it might be the super-homer in me but I would be very confident going into that game. From my seat at the tank it was hard to see how the goal went in. Now that I've seen some replays, it looks like a little of both....Marleau whacking away and Hiller moving around...both probably had a role in the puck trickling over the line. I went completely bonkers when I saw the ref point at the puck in the net...just like the other 17,495 people there....we've been waiting for something to go crazy about for the entire postseason so far. I'm headed to Anaheim tonight and I'll be at the game in southern cali tomorrow. I'll report in afterwards if I can.

I'd pretty much have to agree with most of what's been said already in this thread. The Sharks are underachieving (again). I was there last night (I'm always there), and I saw a team that actually gave a damn. It's the team that shows up only AFTER their back is against the wall. It's what I saw last year in the 2nd round when they went down 3-0 to the stars and had to battle back, only to lose game 6 in 4OTs. For some reason they seem complacent on the ice until it's truly do or die time...and if you only kick it into playoff mode at that point, it's already too late. The Sharks' D is both their strength and their weakness. Offensively they've been fantastic this year, particularly Boyle. Defensively they are still a liability. Of the new D guys, the much overlooked Lukowich has been the best defensively of the bunch on a night in and night out basis. You rarely see him make a bad turnover or lose a man. Always seems to have his assignment. Ehrhoff has been a nightmare all year. Vlasic has been excellent all year...until this series. For some reason they can't all put it together. Last night they were the better team for 55 of the 60 regulation minutes...but only had 2 goals to show for it. Should have been more. The 5 minutes that they weren't the better team, 2 ended up in the back of their net. If the Sharks can summon up some balls and play the way they did the majority of last night, they have a shot. If not, they're toast. There's pressure on the Sharks for sure...but there's also a fair amount of pressure on the Ducks. They'll be feeling the pressure to close it out at home in game 6...there's no way they want to go back to SJ for a game 7. In my mind, whoever wins game 6 will win the series. Obviously if the ducks win, they win because it's over. If the Sharks can steal game 6, I don't think the ducks will be able to take game 7 in SJ. Of course, anything is still possible and these are just the ramblings of a Sharks fan with very little voice left. I'm headed to Anaheim tonight and will be wearing my Sharks gear at the Honda Center tomorrow...

You can expect to get tickets fairly easily...they didn't sell out game 4. It's just like anywhere else. Mostly sensible people, a few drunk a-holes. Nice weather.

Gonna try to sleep this one off. If the Sharks can't pull off the comeback, please oh please beat the living crap out of the ducks. Pretty please.

What the sharks lack is a true leader. Someone like Iginla. That type of player that the team will rally behind. That truly leads by example. That is a captain. Skill AND heart AND desire. I just don't see it in my team right now and that's terribly painful to type.

I can't believe the crap I just watched for the last 3 hours. Of all the lame efforts, Joe's was unbelievably bad. I think he was a -3. Terrible giveaways, terrible gliding/coasting, no semblance of a backcheck until late in the 3rd...seriously WTF?!? Boston looks like geniuses right now, Ron Wilson must be laughing his ass off.... I don't recognize the team in Sharks jerseys on the ice. They're not the team I watched most of the year. I suppose they could win one at home Saturday, then steal one on Tuesday in anaheim...then a game 7 back home where anything can happen...but not with the effort I saw tonight. They were straight up embarrassed.

Wild Wing is actually a cool mascot. Does a lot of similar stuff that SJ Sharkie does. Lots of fan interaction. Game 4 should be another close one.

That call was bad, but so was the BS tripping call on Pavelski that led to a power play goal by the ducks earlier in the game. Still settling down from watching that game. It was pretty intense. The ducks are no 8 seed quality wise, I assure you of that much. The next game is a must win in my book as well. Going down 3-1 is unacceptable.

Yeah tell me about it... If Detroit can continue playing this way and close out the series early, it will be a big advantage for them later in the playoffs. It's such a battle for so long...I don't buy the rusty theory, with as grueling as the playoffs are, each day of rest is a blessing. Things need to fall into place to make a run at the Cup, no matter how good the team is, and things are working out well so far for you guys.

This is an excellent post...and I wish I could bring up some things to refute it, but I'm beginning to agree. My brain wants to agree with you but my heart currently wont let me. I pray that he'll awaken from this 8 year coma tuesday...

Try explaining it like I do. "Best seed left, plays worst seed left. The other two teams play each other. That's it." It's about as simple as it gets.

Trust me when I say this. YOU are not bummed out. I can't even begin to put into words what it was like being there tonight. Watching each powerplay being wasted. Watching as the the last minute ticked away....the Sharks not even able to break out of their zone and pull Nabokov. Hearing the horn go off and the quiet that followed. The masses of people taking the long walk of shame down Santa Clara street...such a stark contrast to the usual antics that go on after a home playoff win. I can't imagine what it must be like as a Cubs fan...because this is sick. Year after year of expectations, and nothing but bitter disappointment. I still feel like they could pull this out...they'd have to win 4 of 5 to do it, but it certainly isn't impossible. The last time they opened a playoff series with two home losses they won the next two on the road. (Calgary WCF) Granted they ultimately dropped the series, but it gives this desperate fan a slim straw to grasp on to. I'm gonna have a beer.

Half of my board thinks the sky is falling...the other half thinks it's gonna be just like every other year...and then there's me. I shall cling on to hope, but if they screw it up on Sunday I'll join one of the groups.
