That's icing 10 times out of 10? So when you slow your skating ability to around 30% (The puck slowed down too) and you can reach it with your stick it's icing? Not sure what brand of hockey you are watching.

If there was one thing that could end the streak, it had to be the ref for that blown icing call. Absolutely should never officiate another NHL game again.

Players with similar injuries and setbacks in the past have missed an entire year due to post concussion symptoms (savard, kariya before he retired, etc) My question is will he play again this year? Quite honestly I do not see him playing again until the playoffs because of how high seeded the penguins are currently. I know this can change but honestly I doubt it will. What do you guys think?

Been awhile since I've posted a poll and thread so I wanted to see what you guys thought about the Wings chances of getting Richards. Lets face it, at this point in time there is virtually no defense available on the market that can crack the top four of our team. (Except Kaberle but he still sucks IMO) They had there chance to sign a premier free agent but didn't do it up to this point. I don't think there are many defensemen out there currently that can help this team develop into a Stanley cup contending team, and since you cannot improve the defense much, why not spend on offense? If you can't improve the defense with defensemen, then improve it with a premier forward like Richards. Richards is not much of a two-way player but neither was Marian Hossa when he came to Detroit. When Holland had cap space in 2009, he went out and got the best forward available and we came within one game of winning the cup back to back. I believe the money is gonna start to burn a hole in his pocket and he will ultimately come to his senses and realize this is the only move they can and MUST make to improve this team. At this point of free agency the team has gotten WORSE. Richards will improve any team in the league drastically and would definitely put Detroit back into Cup contention once again. I believe Richards will be Detroit's only chance to improve the team this summer, and with the way Richards has been talking lately he makes it sound like Detroit is a perfect fit. (Brought up organazation issues, and bashed both Dallas and Tampa Bay for this) Feel free to comment with your thoughts

After having a -14 +/-(2007 ATL) and a 0 +/-(PIT), he came to Detroit and had a career high +27. Richards is not much a two way player, but when you play with two of the best Two-way players in the league you start to catch on and start to develop.

After watching the heartbreaking loss I realized that this may have been the last game I've ever seen of Lidstrom. It's a harsh reality that may occur during this years off-season. Babcock said in his postgame conference that Nick is a family guy, but he also did say that Nick would talk to him about his decision whether or not to continue playing. All in all I believe he will come back for one more year, and will publicly say that next season would be his last. I believe he will take a deep pay cut in order for the wings to acquire a top end defenseman or forward, at a pay of 2-4 Million. (Brad Richards, Shea Weber, Zach Parise, etc) I also believe Nick Lidstrom will win the Norris trophy this year, which will help him in the decision making process. Discuss.

I've seen many people ranting and raving about Jiri Hudler on this board and I want to see what you guys think he is worth to this team. I believe he is worth about 1-2m with this years production and if he turns to a 70 point guy maybe a bit more.

If they can pull this off it would be the most historic comeback in professional sports history. I would like to see the crowd be a huge factor for the wings as it was in the phoenix series. An Ex-Detroit coach is simply out coaching Detroit hands down. You cannot tell me this isn't the case. Babcock REFUSED to change his lineup after they were DEAD in game 1. Now we are in an 0-2 hole and on the brink of elimination. Refusing to change the lineup, not changing the lines during the game, and yet Babcock can be seen laughing on the Detroit bench. Is it just me or is it his time to go?
