Also please tell me if I've missed any of the Bigger free agents that are available. Vote for the FA's that you think the wings should sign.
-
I think this is one of the few free agents out there that's a possibility. GOOD: cheaper then most of the free agents out there. Good on the PP Good on shootouts BAD: Not a very good two way forward Not a fast skater I say sign him for 1 year at 1.5M. That still leaves the door open for hudler/leino/sammy.

Good, now he can't rob us of goals in the SCF.
-
I like the look of it, I don't like all the obstructed view seating. Good looking large arena, lets get er done!

They're gonna trade Hossa after the season, mark my word... It was the only way for them to have a shot at winning the cup this year is to sign him long term to lower the cap hit. They will lose Kane or Toews if they keep Hossa, it's not possible to keep them both. Hossa a wing July 1st, 2010.
-
Obviously, Holland made the decision to not keep Hossa. But Holland is one of the best GM's in all of sports, something triggered him to not sign him. Some of you may not know but Hossa must wear braces on both knees and had a major knee surgery when he was younger. Hossa will not be as dangerous as Toews or Kane in the next 5 years, and with the signing of him they WILL lose one of them. They simply do not have enough cap space without hossa and with him that just puts it over the top. Babcock stated in the playoffs this year that there young guys weren't gonna have good paydays down in Chicago. Chicago only has 8 players locked up for the 2010/11 season, and in those 8 players 34M in payroll. Anyway good luck to the Hoss because hes gonna need it big time. GOOD: We got rid of Kopecky. Leino is playing instead of Kopecky. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen Line. More Cap Space Helm, Ericcson are playing. BAD: We lose a force in our offense who plays well defensively. [HOSSA] We lost Ty Conklin who was a strong backup for the wings and could have developed into our starting goalie had Osgood retired. We Still haven't signed Jiri Hudler Need A Little More Depth

Bouwmeester was paid too much, he's not good in +/- and doesn't score on a constant basis. I heard the other day someone comparing this guy to Nick Lidstrom, not even a chance.
-
Antropov is not that good, he's a good stickhandler but he lacks speed and defensive skills. Bertuzzi would be an OK fit at best, he scores in streaks and would be just like samuelsson. Too many penalty minutes when your PK is less then 80%= ask the ducks in the playoffs.

This year there's the Olympic break, so some players will get some rest.
-
he hates crosby and can score, win win!
-
Name another free agent out there that can put the puck in the net on a constant basis and under $2M?
-
I honestly think it's a possibility that hossa is on his way back at some point. Eventually chicago will have to make big decisions and the two young guns were there first. I respect hossa for not signing with a non contender and being loyal to the wings in his conference call today. It's gonna take from now until next season to get over it tho... this is a real big stinger..
-
They will trade hossa to wings, holland arranged this. Wings will have 12m in cap space after next season and 7m of it to lids. Leaving around 5m left for the great hoss.

Sullivan agrees to 2 year extension with Nashvile. $3.75 per year says TSN.
-
The wings will announce at least one signing today, even if its Hudler.
-
I wanna watch all the breaking news on Free Agency. Problem is I don't have tsn and no nhl network channel. I have versus and i was wondering if they were gonna have coverage.

Way to go Holland, let the guy walk, and go to the hawks? No draft picks for him either? WONDERFUL.

http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/06/red_wings_free_agency_previews.html DETROIT RED WINGS Cap Space - $5.6 million UFAs - Marian Hossa, RW; Mikael Samuelsson, RW; Chris Chelios, D; Ty Conklin, G; Tomas Kopecky, RW. RFAs - Jiri Hudler, C; Ville Leino, LW. Needs - Cap space. Seriously, though, Detroit has a fantastic roster with great players waiting in the wings, but GM Ken Holland would love to keep Hossa in the fold. That will be impossible without shedding some other contracts via trade; what remains to be seen is what sort of money and term Hossa will take. If the talented Slovak doesn't come back, Hudler would be the first option for re-signing. Leino (who should be sticking around), Darren Helm and Justin Abdelkader are more than qualified to join the vaunted forward corps should there be significant attrition. Chelios and Conklin definitely won't return. Ready for big time - Jimmy Howard slides in behind Chris Osgood on the goaltending depth chart with the departure of Conklin. Howard had one of his best seasons yet with AHL Grand Rapids this season, posting career-bests in goals-against average (2.54) and save percentage (.916). The 25-year-old has been waiting for this opportunity for several years now. IS IT TRUE THE WINGS HAVE 5.6M IN CAP SPACE?
-
If we sign hossa that idea is long gone, however if we don't I wouldn't mind adding him to our team. He could play a wing on the second PP. (Filpulla, Shanny, Leino)
-
That makes sense now, I was thinking how the hell can we not sign hossa with that much room >.<

I need to find a way to get tsn on comcast, anyone have a clue?
