    Lethargic D

Anyone but the ******* Penguins and Crosby... :( This is horrible. And it had to be the Wings offense breaking down in the final two games. Who saw that coming?

SCF GAME 7 GDT: Penguins 2 at Red Wings 1

This game epitomized most of the Wings season. Slacking off, come from behind, but they came up short this time. Hossa, f*** you.

Hossa really let the Wings down. Must be tough. The nerves got to him.

Chances of Stuart being on the Wings next year?

Sadly I doubt we'll see many changes at all, except no Hossa.

Holy f***. But still, embarrassing game and Crosby holding that cup will haunt me.

Sickening, can't stand to watch this. Red Wings will lose 4 of the 5. Amazing.

All the Pressure is on the Wings for Game 7

If the Wings win, I'll quit smoking. If they lose, I'll be smoking a pack a day until the day I die. My life is in Detroits hands.

    A totally calm perspective.

I'd would've much rather prefered Detroit losing to Anaheim in Game 7 then Pittsburgh in Game 7 of the finals. Wings losing to the Penguins would be utterly embarrassing.

Eklund at it again about Hossa and draft day

Trade Rafalski and the rights to Hossa to the Islanders for their first round pick then sign Hedman! Let those two rot.

    Marian Hossa Discussions

Excuse me, but Hossa doesn't have Lidstrom and Zetterberg on him every shift. Hossa is tanking. He's had one or two quality scoring chances in the last 6 games. He's not making anything happen, and he seriously can't generate anything offensively. He chucks the puck, misses the net, or goes on a short skate and loses it. He's not helping or hurting the Wings, and yet he makes 7.45 million a season. He's choking.

    Marian Hossa Discussions

Game 7 will make or break his career. I'll give him and Dats the benefit of the doubt for not scoring in the first 3 series, but if both these guys, especially Hossa (since Dats is actually injured) can't not only score in Game 7, but win the series, he should be ASHAMED.

    Bench Rafalski

^Ericcson's been BAD this series. But it doesn't matter, the game was 2-1, and not one of our guys could put it in the net. If the Wings lose, it'll be squarely on the heads of Hossa and all the other NO-SHOW forwards. Hudler, Sammy, Hossa, Homer, Maltby have been GHOSTS. And when one guy on a line is dogging it, chucking pucks away, you don't have a chance.
  13. Man if the Wings lose, Rafalski has got to go. 6 million could be much better spent. And Hossa, pfft. Come on man. You're the highest paid guy on the team, with more to lose then anyone. No Cup 2 years in a row, and it'll be very unlikely you get re-signed with a decent team. I mean, WTF. It's Game 6. It's not like you've been pumping in goals all play-offs like Franzen and Zetterberg. IT'S NOW OR NEVER. PUT THE PUCK IN THE NET!

When did Hudler turn from the next Datysuk to a bench warmer? His first half the the season was outstanding, hopefully he hasn't lost his touch.

    Conn Smyth

I agree with you to an extent, as does the NHL. But in certain cases, such as when Geguire won it, he for sure deserved it. If the Wings win tomorrow, Zetterberg or Osgood should win. But if Crosby and or Malkin single handedly push it to a Game 7, one of them should win.
  16. ^ After these mediocre play-offs by the passenger Hossa, why would you take him over Stuart. Don't you think that 6 million could be much better spent on a guy who can actually score?

    Coach Babcock and Holland

I don't think Bab's would want a "tougher" team. Skill > Toughness any day. However someone like Getzlaf which are few and far between would make great Red Wing. I hope that Maltby and Draper do choose to retire, not because their useless, but because we need to get the younger talent on the right track. Homer though is still a very effective player, and hopefully will be re-signed when his contract expires.

    Nobody to Blame But Ourselves

Ozzy wasn't amazing tonight. Not one player was, except maybe Helm and or Flipulla. Everyone else was awful.

After four games, which team has looked better?

The Penguins have looked far better. The first two games Detroit was lucky to win so easily. This game epitimized the last 4 games, but with Detroit not getting lucky. But, Detroit at their best is unbeatable, and unless the chokers like HOSSA, and to a lesser extent anyone not named Flipulla, Helm, or Zetterberg, actually put some effort into their games, Wings are done. Hossa came here to win a cup, and he's sure as hell not acting like it. Doesn't he realize this may be his last shot? Hossa is not a difference maker, he can't turn a bunch of losers into winners. He's a supporting character. And what good team would even afford him? If the Wings lose, Hossa not only won't be back, he'll be playing for the LA Kings or Islanders for the rest of his career. If the Wings win, he may be back. But he has to play better. Franzen has to be better. Osgood has to be better. And especially all 6 D-guys. But at least they helped the Wings get here. Without Hossa, we'd still be here, Game 4, all tied up. We are not better with him, these play-offs.

    Put Z on Malkin?

For some reason I think Malkin might eat a not 100% Datysuk alive, just because he's so big. Put Z on Malkin, Dats on Crosby. Even though the Wings scored more goals then anyone in the regular season, no match up's at all would be brutal. I also find it very pathetic that the Penguins NEED Malkin and Crosby to succeed. We lost Datysuk, we did fine. We lost Lidstrom we did fine. We lost Franzen last season, did just fine. It's pathetic that a TEAM needs to rely on two people so much.

    stop and think

Datysuk returning will for sure help defensively, but I'm not sure he'll make an impact with goals. At this point Hossa can't play with anyone and score. He's proven that. And bulls*** he's playing well. How many times has Fleury robbed Hossa? How many quality chances has Hossa had? Zero, and zero. He's playing terribly offensively. At least Datysuk will take the weight off Z and spread out the lines a little bit better. At this point, Game 5 is a must win.

WCF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Penguins 4

I can't watch this mess. So many bench warmers, Hossa, Homer, Rafalski. Even Kronwall is falling apart. It's sickening. If the Wings lose this game, this series is over. We needed Datysuk for this game badly.

Hossa to be re-signed after postseason

After this playoff performance, why would the Wings even keep him? In all seriousness, he hasn't played very well at all in any series. It's not like he's getting shut down by the other teams best players anyways. He's simply not playing well. When he makes a fancy move, he over-plays the puck and gets out of a scoring position. When he shoots the puck it goes wide or is from an impossible distance. He's not Ovechkin after all, yet he's making Ovechkin money. Flipulla and Cleary have played extremely well, yet a lot of you would freely just trade one of them to keep Hossa. Sure, who wouldn't sign Hossa over either one straight up. But the point is signing Hossa for anything more then what Franzen is making, is a horrible long term decision. If the Wings win the cup, Hossa will have been nothing more then a 7.45 million dollar passenger. The reason Hossa is here is to score goals and make up for the fact people like Datysuk and Zetterberg are put in checking roles. Last time I checked, Zetterberg is out-scoring Hossa, and shutting down Crosby. What's Hossa doing? Chucking. He's like an over-paid Sammy. Keep Hudler, Flipulla, Leino and let Hossa walk. Give his salary to people who perform in key situations. These are the facts. Hossa is playing extremely badly for someone making 7.45 million a season. And for all you people who say, "Well, Detroit is deep enough, Hossa doesn't to score." True that. Then why do we need Hossa at all? Hossa's job is to score goals. That's what he does, that's what he's paid the highest on this team to do. And it's pretty sad people like Cleary and Sammy are blowing him out of the water with timely offense. I laugh at all you kids who wanted to let Franzen walk and re-sign Hossa a few months ago.
