The simple fact of life is, goaltenders need to be big to succeed these days. Osgood is a tiny man, and can no longer be effective anymore. He can no longer out think and out-maneuver. We need a big, fat, juicy goalie. Not some short, skinny old man. Sorry Osgood

Lets be honest, Lebda and Lilja have been better then Kronwall or Stuart. The Wings have a lot of potential top 6 D-guys in the system, Kindl, Ericcson, Meech perhaps. Ericcson for sure should be top 6. I would be highly enfavor of dumping both Kronwalls and Stuarts caps (he may have a NTC) giving an extra 6 million, which could easily be used to sign Franzen, Sammy and maybe Hudler. The Wings will be huge losers if they let these forwards leave through UFA. And really replacing Kronwall and Stuart with entry level deals from Ericcson and Kindl is a lot easier then getting 3-4 entry level forwards from Grand Rapids.

You all seem to think Hossa will sign at 6.1 more or less for X number of seasons. But look at the cap. If the cap doesn't increase, the Wings have 8.6 million of space. Subtract Hossa at 6.1 and suddenly you have 2.6 million of space left.... to sign 4 more forwards, and a back-up goalie. Meaning no more Hudler, Franzen, Sammy, Kopecky and Conklin. So the question really becomes, what would you rather have? Hossa, or Sammy, Hudler, Kopecky and Franzen. And likely Leino will be gone too, since filling 5 positions with 3 million is more or less the minimum salary. Unless the cap goes up a few million, or Holland moves Kronwall or Stuart, the Wings are gonna have a pretty sorry looking team compared to this year. Why not trade Kronwall or Stuart really? With Ericsson and Meech coming up, why not move an expensive D-guy, to possibly re-sign two of the UFA forwards? Holland is f***ed.

That is SUCH bulls***. Since when is it wrong to stand in the crease, he wasn't even touching him! Such such such bulls***. Refs can't have this much power, their needs to be some sort of like "Challenge system". Like in Tennis, when one of the "refs" make a bad call, the player can challenge, and look at the replay. That's what they should do, Coach can challenge lets say 2 calls a game, and it goes straight to Toronto.

He's been fantastic, it actually makes me feel sad for calling him useless. Same with Osgood, he played fantastic today against one of the best teams in the league AT the moment.

If you look at each teams final dozen games, San Jose has a much easier draw.

ZDH, we've been saying it all year, and everytime Babs tries it, it works, keep them together. Kopetsky and Flipulla are really stepping up their games, great to see!

Perhaps it wasn't a terrible idea as I've never seen the Wings do it before. Maybe Babcock just wanted the entire team to focus 100% on D for 20 minutes to see if they still have what it takes to shut a good team down. Obviously they don't still have it. And really this team isn't losing as a team, one or two guys playing bad on a single night is the reason the Wings look so bad. Stuart had a horrible game. Rafa had a horrible game a few nights ago. The goalies have a lot of bad games. The only guys who consistently play well are Lidstrom Rafalski and Datsyuks line. Their rarely in the negative, +/- wise.

Stuart and Kronwall have been awful this season, and with Flipulla picking up his play of late, I'd much rather lose one of them to keep Franzen and Hossa. Hudler has uber cooled off as of late, I'd take Sammy over him at this point if he'll sign for half of what Hudler would want.

Chill out junior. Your point was it's just one game. Oh oh. My point was, nearly every game this season has been just like this one. Do you actually have any confidence in the way the Wings have been playing this season, will win them a Cup? This team is going down in the first round.
