Report: Red Wings out on Lecavalier - signs with Philly 5@4.5 per

I'll do it. $200 bucks for the charity of the others choosing. Philly will win a Cup before the Wings.

Horton looking 6m for 5/6 years

GETTER DONE KENNY. Horton at 6 is a lot better than Sammy and Cleary both at 3!! COMMON SENSE.

Wings buy out Colaiacovo, will keep Bertuzzi

"I mean, this horrible, god-awfully managed team was one game away from the WCF. God we suck and so does Holland. Glad to know we can gripe just as loudly and as obnoxiously as other fans of other teams in the league. Way to go Wings Fans." Chicago underplayed and we overplayed, simple as that. They did win the cup after all. At least other teams are trying to make changes. Holland isn't going to make any changes, other than letting Flipulla leave for nothing (just like Hudler). The Wings roster is massive right now. Paying two players 3 million a season is idiotic when you have 14 forwards already. Why not pay one player 6 million! And guess what, that one player might actually SCORE a GOAL.

You do know that you can only have six bottom six forwards right? You need two lines that can put the puck in the net, EVERY NIGHT. We have 3 legitimate top 6 forwards right now. Having 15 forwards signed is pretty useless when only 3 or 4 can score a goal on a regular basis.

Horrible move by Holland. You'll pay Sammy 3 million a year, but you won't pay Vincent 4.5? The guy would of been our 3rd best forward. You wouldn't pay 4.5 million for a top 3 forward? Come on. The Wings can't score. They haven't been scoring for YEARS. How do you fix such a problem? PAY A FEW EXTRA BUCKS AND SIGN SOME DECENT TOP 6 FORWARDS. Would you rather have Vincent at 4.5 a season, or Cleary at 3. Seriously. I will use my magical crystal ball and tell you what Holland will do in the next week: Cleary for 3 million a season for 3-4 years. Sign Brunner for 2-3 million for 3-4 years. Buy-out Carlo. "We like our team." - Holland DONE. We will have an IDENTICAL team to last year, except Flipulla will be gone. The Wings need 1-2 top 6 forwards. The Wings have too many players signed, and Kenny seems not to care. Get rid of a few, and get BETTER ONES. WE HAVE THE SPACE. GETTER DONE. I will bet ANYONE on here $20 that Philly will win the cup before the Wings do. Making moves, even if a few are bad, is better than doing nothing. And Kenny has basically made ZERO moves for 5 years.

When every team in the entire league "overpays" players, the team that doesn't is going to lose. Every team overpays a few players, thats how you get quality free agents. Holland needs to improve the top 6, Lecavalier is worth 5 million a season.

    Tim Thomas watch 2013

When he's playing his best, he's the #1 goalie in the entire league.

Canucks trade Schneider to Devils for 9th overall pick

Gillis is an idiot. Schiender and Hodgson were two extremely important pieces. He traded his future second line center, and to ultimately replace him, they trade Scheinder for what could be a future second line center. He should of just stuck with Luongo the whole time.

    2013 NHL Entry Draft Discussion

Luongo is a fine goalie, top 10 in the league. Canucks should of tried to get more though. Obviously no one wanted Luongo, and buying him out would of been a bad idea.
  10. 4 million per for 4 years. Get'er done Kenny!

A top 3 forward is more important than a top 2 defenseman.

    Flyers to buyout Briere

Give him 4 million for 2 years.
  13. The guy is one of the best players on the team. Very underrated, drafted and developed in house. If he won't take 3.5-4 million, then gonna have to let him go. Letting Hudler go was a HUGE mistake, and it will be a HUGE mistake to let Flipulla go too. The Red Wings waste so much cap space on people who don't even play, they can afford to overpay a player by a million here or there.

    Brunner Contract Talks

Hudler is a legitimate top 6 forward, who we shouldn't of let go. Hudler at 4 million is a lot better than Sammy at 3 million. If Brunner wants 3, give it to him.

Bergeron, Datsyuk, Toews finalists for Selke

The +/- statistic is a complete joke for comparing defensive ability. The "-" is all that should matter. The stat should be broken down into "+" and "-", as adding the numbers together removes all useful information. The "+" part shouldn't matter at all for the Norris or Selke.

    4/19 GDT

The Wings are in a fantastic position to make 8th as of now. Fate is in their own hands at least.

Mike Babcock Line swapping.. Too much?

Letting Hudler go was a huge mistake. At least the guy knew the system and could put up points. You develop a player for almost a decade, and right when he's reaching his potential, you let him go. I'm afraid the same thing might happen to Flipulla. Unless Holland buys out Quiency and another significant player, there is no way out roster is going to be any better on paper than this year.

Dats and Zetterberg still have the ability to dominate any game, the problem is their line mates suck.

    4/17 GDT: Red Wings 2 @ Flames 3

The Wings can't score. The quality of scoring chances is appauling. No one finishes. Howard had a bad game, but how many times does he bail us out? We rarely give him any breaks. He can't be 100% every night, especially when there is so much pressure on him because we can't score.

Concerned - we might not make it in to the playoffs

Top 6 is the problem. No chemistry, no nothing. Flipulla is playing horrible this year. And the Wings really only have three other top 6 forwards, Brunner with Helm would of been nice on the third line. Brunner isn't a top 6 forward yet, he needs more adjustment time. What we really should be worring about is next season. The Wings roster will be more or less exactly the same. They are going to get eatin alive in the play-offs unless they can clear some major salary and get a top 3 forward. And if the team doesn't keep Flipulla, things will be even worse. He better take 4 million a season, because that is more than what he's worth based on his lazy, uninspired play. 4 years, 4 million per, take it or leave it you greedy bastard.

    2013 NHL Awards Favorites

Hart - Ovechkin Vezina - Niemi (although despite the injury Anderson deserves it) Norris - Ryan Suter (unfortuantly, although he really did turn it around) Art Ross - St Louis Selke - Toews (although Datysuk deserves it every season he plays) Richard - Alexander Ovechkin Lady Byng - Pavel Datsyuk

Playoff race vs. race for #1 pick.

I hate the draft system combined with the salary cap. In the salary cup era, poor management leads to not missing the play-offs. I swear teams purposelly tank to gain high first round picks. It's a great way to an easy Stanely Cup, see Pittsburgh and Chicago. Failure should not be rewarded. The best solution would be that a single team cannot have the #1 overall pick in back to back drafts.

4/12 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Blackhawks 3 (SO)

Franzen is getting lazy. I feel like these super long term contracts ruins some players (see Bryzgalov, etc.). I mean, you have alread got your money. You have no financial motivation to play better or harder, Most guys are playing their best, hoping for a raise in a couple years if they play well. Not Franzen. He's become lazy. That's the best word to describe it. Mules should be insulted this lazy bum has their nickname.

"Passed back to Quincey." Big mistake.
  25. It all depends on the Wings play-off performance this season and next season. If the Wings aren't a contender, he will leave. Who wants to play 82 games a season, with no chance of winning a Cup?
