Ovechkin never recovered from the Olympics. He basically handed away the Art Ross and Richard, now this. What a bad season.
-
Ray Ferraro is one of the few hockey commentators I respect.
-
Bryzgalov will do the same thing to us tomorrow.
-
Wings have to go all out, if they lose the lead early, it'll be over.
-
Aside from being a red wings fan, if the Wings lose Game 7, the play-offs will be a lot more uninteresting. San Jose will crush Phoenix. Washington will easily crush Philly, Pittsburgh will likely win against Buffalo/Boston. The only interesting series will be Chicago-Vancouver. Detroit needs to win.

A Franzen-Flipulla-Bert line sounds good, but Franzen isn't playing well. I don't think Dats is struggling, I think it's his line mates. Bert was hot and cold this season, Homer is a bit streaky, and Franzen is struggling. Datysuk has the best shot on the team, right now Dats needs to be the one shooting.
-
Yes Howard was bad, but we shouldn't blame him for this loss. Datsyuk, Zetterberg and especially Franzen need to play better. Franzen has been pretty invisible. Bad game for everyone.

The Wings need more MEN on this team. MORE SHOT BLOCKERS!
-
Lebda is better then Janik, Kindl, Ericsson or Meech at this point. Can anyone say Lebda has been worse then Ericsson?
-
Malts isn't playing so it can't be his fault. Ericcson NEEDS to go.
-
The Wings are playing like they did last year Game 6/7 against Pittsburgh. Will history repeat itself?
-
What is he worth? He's restricted right? So he is worth a first and a third round pick? Could that be right? Because 2.8 million is a lot for Hudler to be honest. Who knows what kind of player he is now. I'd take the picks and try and sign a bigger fish.

How can you not hate him? If he even played to 50% of his ability the Wings would of won the Cup last season, GUARANTEED. Hossa has the most blame for under performing last play-offs. Now you want him to win a Cup with a new team? If you hate Chicago, you need to hate Hossa. Hossa doesn't deserve a cup. He's a cup chaser, who doesn't want to put in the work, the time, the effort. He didn't last season, why would it be so great if he won it now? f*** Marian Hossa.

I'ma go out on a limb here and say I'd like to see a little bit of NFL thrown in here. Even though I hate it. I'd love to see like a wildcard kind of thing, where there the 4 teams from 14-18 play a mini 3 game series or something weird like that. I don't know. I'm just real real tired of this west-east thing. I'd love to see Calgary-Rangers in the first round. Or San Jose-Philly. Montreal-Detroit. Man that would be something else. Maybe alternate years or something. BUT BUT, the problem then becomes, if their was no West team in the finals, ratings would plummet on the other coast, and vis-versa. Would you watch a Washington-New Jersy final? I don't know if I would. In fact I wouldn't even watch a Pittsburgh-Washington final. I don't give a crap about the east. And I'm sure many people agree. The West is where it's at, and I'd rather see ANY west team win the cup (EXCEPT CHICAGO!!!!!) then any eastern team. But I do think that it would be fair for the 6 division winners to get the top 6 seeds.

It's a fact the NHL wants these series to last as long as possible.
-
How can that not be a goal? The Penguins guy pushed the Ottawa guy into the net. What does it matter if it comes off?
-
They don't deserve it because they didn't work hard to become a good team. No work ethic. They sucked for half a decade, got some primo draft picks for being one of the worst teams in the league, and now only 3 seasons later, you think they deserve to win a cup? Teams who become good on premium picks alone don't deserve to win.
-
Howard won't, but should win the Calder. He's certainly the MVP of the rookies. Zetterberg got ROBBED of his calder, I think the league should make amends and give it to Howard. That would be nice.

Does anyone think the Wings will make it to the Cup finals? Assuming the series progress as they should, Detroit will have to beat 2 of Chicago, San Jose and Vancouver in the next two rounds. A tall order compared to the past two seasons, where you could argue, the Wings had an easier path to the finals. The second round of the West should be the toughest in years, where any of the four teams could win it all. This wasn't the case the last two years where sleeper picks have advanced. As long as Detroit can avoid Vancouver all together, I think they have a decent chance. As long as Pittsburgh doesn't win the Cup, I really don't care who wins. Great if it's the Wings, but I'll be happy as long as Pittsburgh doesn't win. Right now it's looking like Pittsburgh will face Boston or Buffalo. Boston probably has a better shot at winning.

I don't know if I want Hudler back to be honest. 2.8 million seems like a lot for someone out of the NHL for an entire season. I want Sammy back!!!!! Kovy didn't fit in with NJ, but I could seriously see that Mule-Dats-Kovy line to be really good. Datysuks passing, Kovy's shot and Mule grinding around the net would be good chemistry. If Kovy would take 6 million maybe for 2 or 3 seasons, would you do it?
-
Coyotes will win in 5. Sorry, but you heard it here first. I want the Wings to win, but they won't get it done this year. They don't have the passion.
-
Personally I'd rather have Lilja then Ericcson, Meech or Lebda. Ericcson sucks and isn't getting better.
-
Williams sucks. So does Ericson. I'd rather have Lebda.
-
Wings need Game 2, or this could be a quick series actually. 0-2 would not look pretty, every game would be a probable must win! Crazy day of hockey, Friday will be HUGE, and it would interesting if the upsets continued across the board.
-
Is anyone just happy we made it? I'm probably not the only one who thought the Olympic break wouldn't help as much as it did, or the fact Calgary melted down as badly as they did. You can't doubt the Wings man, they're gods on skates.
