I wonder how many people who watched in the 70's and 80's only watched because their Dad's still watched hoping to see the 50's all over again. Would the wings have had as many fans if the 50's never happened?

This is retarded. If I knew for certain that I would never see another fight in hockey I am pretty sure I'd stop watching. I like listening to Mickey Redmond and I'm pretty sure he'd either quit his job or have a heart attack and die if fighting was banned. We lost 88 goals worth of offense this season. We'll see if Leino and Bertuzzi can make up those 88 for us.

How many times last year did we have to score 4 or 5 goals to pull out a win? Our defense sucked ass, our PK was like 25th in the league but at least we had 2 goalies to jump between. Theres no doubt that Conklin was better than Osgood during the regular season last year. Conklin had a 2.51 and Osgood a 3.09. Howard isn't Conklin. Osgood is going to have to be way better this year because we've lost some of our dependable offense. Seriously though, NEEDING to score 5 goals to win a game is a problem. When the wings free up the 13 some million next season we'll be in a better situation to buy some big time defense or maybe a goalie. Given the situation I am sticking by my suggestion that the wings playoff hopes in 2010 aren't a guarentee like they always are. Somethings gotta give sooner rather then later.

Yeah. Again, read the part where I said OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER that this has nothing to do with the past two games. Take conklin out of the equation last season and where are we at the end of the year? Scrambling to win 6 or 7 games to make 8th seed? Now take a significant part of our offense, and conkin out of the equation and where are we? Not surprised if the wings miss the playoffs. Why is that so hard to grasp?
