I too sent a letter: I am not sure where this letter will go or if it will have any effect what so ever but even if in vain, I must speak on something that is very troubling to me. The tie game goal by Marian Hossa last night against the Ducks that was called off was one of the worst things that has happened to the game since Feb 1, 1993. Gary Bettman has absolutely ruined this game for true fans in an attempt to attract a new fan base. How long do you expect people to stick around when they take a liking to a team, say the Red Wings, and they watch the horrid officiating rob their favorite team of a potential win. Or how about the Washington Cap's fans who watch their star goaltender bulled over with an intentional attempt to injure and there is nothing called. This is a travesty for the NHL and something must be done to even out the officiating. One second a quick tap of the stick to the ankle in an attempt to poke check is slashing, and in another second a guy can get hooked down to the ice and no call. Fix this. I am an old time true fan of the game, and I recognize its obvious faults. Many of which have become more apparent after the lockout. I am disgusted with the terrible officiating and I am disgusted with Gary Bettman. I'd like to both of these elements removed from my favorite sport. Of course, I am not naive enough to think this letter is going anywhere but in the trash. The NHL doesn't care about its fans anymore. Thanks a lot. Ryan

Um, I just want to point out that the first 4 of our 5 wins was against COLUMBUS. This series is seriously 50/50. I can't join in the over confidence.

It took 3 more hours to find out what I already knew in the 2nd. We're loosing this game.. check back, I called it.

Ove is my favorite player outside of the Wings roster, pretty much for all those reasons. He's fun to watch and he scores CRAZY goals.. my dream would be Wings/Caps in the finals, so I could see all my favorites on the ice. Cindy Crosby on the other hand I hate worse than pronger and that kid that cries in the movie theater or airplane seat behind you combined.

No doubt. I'm sick and tired of the "The Red Wings tough guy is their power play" I heard it all over CBC last night (because I REFUSE to watch VS and their Cindy Crosby circle jerk). McCarty would have smashed Browns face after a hit like that, and it would have been a beautiful thing. I prefer gladiators to light footed ballerinas any day of the week. Sure its awesome that we can score goals and win games... BUT I DEMAND MORE ASS KICKING!

I hate this team like no other. They are SO damn dirty.

I think it's funny. F peoples feelings.. Jesus christ lighten up. It seems like the lack of bloody fights on our ice has pussified some of our fans... Bring back McCarty and Downey! Maybe that would put some of that "bite" back into you "love everyone" hippies.

I'm watching the Sharks/Ducks game on VS right now and they were showing the playoff tree. The announcer said, and I quote "The Wings won their series tonight in controversial style"... ummm.. What? Why do the national personalities hate us SO much? I bet this guy has a Cindy Crosby poster hanging on the ceiling above his bed. Unbelievable.. Controversial?

This goes back years my friend. I think it boils down to this: The league put in place a salary cap in order to "even out the playing field" which I understood to mean, "the wings buy talent and we have to stop them". Well then the amazing management of this team still figures out a way to keep us on top and we blow the asses out of their "model franchise" last year and it made them sick. Bettmen hates our team, the national commentary hates our team, and the only reason I can figure is because their stupid salary cap plan didnt have its intended consequences on the Wings. In return I hate Cindy Crosby out of spite, and I wish we would repeat again this year out of spite for the league.. F them.

No it's just the point. As a wings fan we get NOTHING in the way of national support. I just dont get it. Last year all they did was ***** because little baby cindy didnt get his cup, instead of congratulating the wings.. its just BS is all..

I'd hate to not have Mickey Redmond and Ken Daniels calling the game. I despise the VS commentary.

YES! I'm so exited about the playoffs! They're finally here! It's just a shame that the wings haven't given me any reason to believe they can make it deep into the playoffs in the past few weeks. The 8-0 blowout, the fall to the islanders, the 3 game loosing streak going into the postseason. I don't see how some of you can be so confident that we'll even make it out of the first round. Remember that game a few weeks back that Nash scored 4 goals on us? Hopefully we make it, but I don't see any reason why we should. $0.02

Because it's going to take him a few years to develop into that role, and also he needs a position with a team like atlanta or L.A. where he can be "the" star. With hossa he is already there, and doesnt seem to mind sharing the spotlight.

On the list of players I'd be willing to loose to keep Hossa: Filppula Hudler Conklin ...yeah thats it. Frazen has too much potential and some of his mechanics right in front of the net are spectacular. I also think that Filppula will make some team the next datsyuk in the coming years, and we already have one of those.
