GOOD KILL ZERO SHOTS
-
Let's ACTUALLY KILL ONE and get some momentum.
-
Where's this rumor of the Wings "bickering" start? I think Babcock would squash that faster than you could blink.
-
All things I interpret as omens point to a win today. Got my signed Hossa puck from 1998 in hand.

ZERO PENALTIES TONIGHT NONE
-
Over the past two seasons, the Pens are 1-4 at the Joe in the playoffs and averaging 1.2 goals per game. The one game they did win, they needed three overtimes, a goal in the final minute, and 55 saves on 58 shots from their spotty goalie to do so.

Some of the comments on LGP about Datsyuk have left me in disbelief. They're advocating intentionally shooting pucks at his skates if he does play, chalking the article up to "Detroit mind games," or speculating that he'll be around 50%. This coming from a group of "fans" who attributed Dupuis' stick breaking in Game 2 to the fact that the "home team supplies the sticks" and that, because of this, Detroit tampered with those supplied to Pittsburgh. I can't even fathom how difficult life would be with that level of ineptitude.
-
I assume the team is NOT practicing today, so they should be fresh for Saturday. If we win Game 5, we get two days off before Game 6.
-
I'd rather look forward than back. It's a three game series now, likely with Pavel Datsyuk in the lineup, and two of those games are at the Joe.
-
To be honest, I'll start to worry if we drop Game 5. We had how many shots tonight? 40? Against a goalie who can be incredibly flaky, especially on the road. The Wings did one thing wrong tonight: they gave up a shorthanded goal. That gives a team unparalleled momentum, and the Pens rode it to a quick two-goal lead. If that goal doesn't happen, their do the other two. Datsyuk will be back for Game 5, which will give the team a huge boost. I think the Wings head back to Pittsburgh with a 3-2 series lead. We'll see what happens from there. One point to improve upon, excluding penalty killing, is to not giving the puck up at the blueline. It led to two goals (maybe three, I turned the game off and didn't see Kennedy's). This is a highly composed, highly experienced, highly talented team that faced a similar situation against the Ducks and responded well.

12-year deal with a $4m cap hit. 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1

Really? Whose hard work set up Filppula's goal in Game 2? Hossa has been fine.
-
First team to win an away game wins this series.
-
My guess is they load him up with painkillers and put him on the ice. Similar to Ericsson for Game 1.

Wings fans should tune out to protest Versus, officiating

Comcast cut my Versus access in Oregon, so I'll be watching on hockeystreams, which may air CBC instead. -
Penalty killing is the major problem right now, which it has been all season, so we need to make sure not to take penalties. If we focus on that, we'll win.
-
Hossa has created numerous opportunities and has more points than Crosby. Stop trying to find a scapegoat and accept the fact that this was not going to be a sweep.
-
Jesus, guys. Calm down. Did any of you seriously expect the Wings to sweep? The Pens won Game 3 last year, too. I'll worry if we drop another, but right now, things are fine. We out-played the Pens for a significant portion of the game without Pavel Datsyuk.
-
No real complaints after this game. No one expected the Wings to sweep.
-
And that has 22 players listed. You can only dress 20.
-
Probably not. I'm almost positive that Samuelsson and Letang are out.
-
Rolling by getting out-shot each game and rescued by the post five or six times? I'd want Datsyuk back for his defensive prowess alone.
-
I haven't read this whole thread, so this may've been pointed out already, but it looks like Kris Letang is out tonight. Phillipe Boucher will take his place on the blueline. That's what Pens fans seem to think based on the morning skate, at least. I'm nt sure if more has been reported.
-
I never said I wanted him to. I'm taking guesses at what might be happening to allow the team to re-sign Hossa.
