From my understanding, Crosby was doing an interview at the time and skated over to the handshake line when he was finished. I may be wrong, though.

Thank you both for the support. Sometimes I feel like we're just spoiled and angry that our team lost.. but after Talbot got a goal off of a waived icing call.. I gave up. I don't like complaining about the refs, but the officiating was horrible, to say the least. Your words are HIGHLY appreciated here. Trust me.

I don't think any less of Hossa. Maybe it's just me, though. He said in his interview that the pressure of playing Pittsburgh got to him. I really don't feel his intention was to ride his way to a Cup without putting in any effort. In fact, in games 1 and 2, I could've sworn I saw fire in his eyes when he was out on that ice. I don't blame him. I'm not upset with him. He just didn't have a good playoff run.. and that's okay.

I can't even begin to explain how proud of the Red Wings I am. We didn't win the Cup, but we made it to the SCF twice in a row. We had a big of a Cup hangover, but compared to other teams - it was virtually non-existant. We have loyal, passionate, and dedicated players. We're going to have a winning teams for years to come and they know it. I love this team. I love the players. I love the management. I love everything about the Detroit Red Wings. And even though we lost.. I'm so unbelievably proud of them, I can't even begin to explain it.

This is where you're just starting to get angry and the logic goes out the window. One of the main reasons the Red Wings are as good as they are is because they don't NEED their top guys producing like wildfire in order to win. Why? Because they have more depth than any other team in the league. If Hossa wants to sit back and watch the game, he can.. and the Wings can still pull out a win.

Nobody said it was going to be a blow out. But the only SCF game the Pens have won at the Joe was last year, in triple OT. The Joe is a really difficult building for them to win in.. whether it be because of the ice, the crowd, or the boards. It's going to be much more difficult for the Penguins than it will for Detroit.

Enough with the damn conspiracies already. The bottom line is the officiating sucks. /Thread.
-
Can we save these threads for after the series?
-
Pretty sure every player who laces up their skates in the NHL wants the Cup. And I see nothing to tell me Crosby wants it more. Is he an excellent player? Of course he is. But he hasn't been the best on the ice, even for the Penguins.. which is why this thread confuses me.

Ironically, there's massive numbers of people who don't think Detroit is in a dynasty at all.

Yeah, I usually put it on my keys.. but then I got it signed by Dallas Drake so now I just keep it put away until I go to a game.

When Pavel Met Evgeni--The turning point of the series
Ms_Hockey replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
I loved last year when he was asked about the disallowed Homer goal after a game and he was like "I know what you guys are trying to do.. and it's not going to work. It is what it is. I'm not a ref. I saw what you saw. But the decision was made and that's that." Afterwards, the reporter was like "So you have no response to the disallowed goal?" And Babcock just started laughing. -

I'm not sure he mentioned the missed power plays to say that that's why the Wings lost. I think he said it, as I said before, to point out reffing inconsistencies. I just don't consider Babcock to be a whiner. However, I think part of every SCF coaching strategy is to be a bit controversial in the post and pre-game interviews to try to bend the calls your way. I don't think ANYBODY liked Therrien. He didn't even try to cover up his rants. He just ranted. -

Me thinks you are judging Babcock out of opposing team hatred rather than listening to what he was saying. He wasn't saying the Wings lost because they didn't get any PPs. He admitted that they didn't play their game and Pittsburgh was the better team. He ALWAYS admits things like that. He was really pointing out the inconsistency with the refs.. not blaming the loss on it. If that's whining and complaining, so be it. But Babcock has got to be WAY at the bottom of the list of NHL coaches when it comes to whining and complaining. In fact, a lot of opposition fans bash him saying that he's SO subtle about it. That's how he's the biggest whiner. He's so good at pretending he's NOT whining. It just seems stupid to me. Babcock isn't a whiner. Therrien was. Go watch his post-game interviews if you want to see a whiner. -
You're damn right I take MySpace Wings pictures!

I hardly think driving a Red Wings limo in Pittsburgh is classless. The guy drives it everywhere. If he were shouting profanities and telling the Pittsburgh fans that he wants to run them over.. then okay. I'd say he's classless. Other than that, he's just showing team spirit. You can do razzing back and forth without calling the guy a *****. Honestly, if he were a *****, he wouldn't be driving that car in Pittsburgh, would he?
-
What should they shoot? Red feathers?
-
I'd run. Fast.
-
I've never been so I wouldn't know how many attend it. But they shoot the flames from the scoreboard for the goals and do the pre-game montages and stuff. It's just a different atmosphere.
-
I'm asking everybody who feels the need to continue this debate as if it's going to make a difference. Penguins fans are upset at the way Hossa left. Wings fans don't think they should be. But it won't change anything. Penguins fans are still going to be upset. Wings fans are still going to think it's stupid. Butting heads for four pages just seems stupid.
-
Who really cares if the Pittsburgh fans are upset about Hossa leaving? Nobody other than Hossa, his agent, the Penguins organization and the Wings organization know what went down. Everything else is just speculation. If they want to hate on Hossa, let them. What does it honestly matter to us? And really, Hossa departure from Pittsburgh is like a shadow of Fedorov's departure from Detroit. There's major controversy within the fan base over what actually went down and whether people should dislike him or not. Same situation with Hossa. Why does it matter?
-
Because they're not having Joe Vision.
-
I went there for the last game. We got there two and a half hours early and there was already a two hour wait for a table. If you're going to go down there, you should probably go as soon as you can.
-
Hahaha. Wow. Way to go, limo dude. You are the unsung Detroit hero.
