Yeah, Cleary, one of the hardest working guys on this team day in and day out, who isn't a top producer but still puts up a pretty good number of points, who is easily in the top three on our team to place in front of the net... you're right. He's useless. I love Cleary. He's easily my favorite player on the Detroit Red Wings for the pure heart and motivation he shows every second he's on the ice. Best wishes to him and here's to him being a-okay! :beerbuddy:

No, I was actually talking about Comerica's parking lot. (Maybe it's the same thing as the Fox Theatre parking lot? I'm not 100% familiar with where things are in relation to streets, etc.) When my dad and I head down to Hockeytown Cafe, we park across the road from it in Comerica's parking lot. It's usually about $5-$10, but they may bump it up because it's the playoffs. As for Cobo, someone else would have to tell you what street to come off of to get into the parking garage because, like I said, I'm horrible with that kind of stuff.. but usually parking there is also $10. But, again, they'll probably boost the prices for the playoffs. I can't imagine you'd find very many places that won't boost their prices.. but Cobo is usually really easy to get out of after games.

Welcome to the boards! You'll find that most of LGW posters are respectful. (I say most because I'm leaving room for the unknown.) The parking garage should be open two hours before the start of the game.. and the doors usually open about an hour and a half prior to puck drop. I've always found it's easier to park on top of Cobo Hall, though. If you wanted, you could even park across from the Hockeytown Cafe (it's only about $3-$5) and take their free shuttle to the Joe. Almost any sports bar/restaurant offers free shuttle services to and from the game down there. Parking really shouldn't be an issue. Have fun while you're here!

Oh stop - stop! None of this negativity!

Eva pretty much answered it about Cheli - he's a Chicago native. I would think it'd be only fitting to allow him to play in the Winter Classic in Chicago. And I think there was probably a little veteran loyalty going on as well. I mean, hell, how many times do you get to play a Winter Classic game (if you're not Conklin)?

FSN Detroit to Televise Entire First Round
Ms_Hockey replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I think you'll need FSN+. If you don't have it, no worries. Any local sports bar should. I see no reason for you to need to be worried about not seeing games. -
LOL. Oh man. I'd never go to a hockey game again with that 7 foot 2 bear walking around.

You weren't kidding about last year's beard being epic. You could've taught Crosby a couple beard-growing lessons. (I know, I know. I hate to be a mindless Crosby basher - but with the Pedro 'stash - I just couldn't resist this time. )
-
Octopi. Why I know that, I'll probably never find out.

Round 1: Comparitive Stats for Detroit and Columbus
Ms_Hockey replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
Holy cowberries. Major props, Drake. I know it's been said about 1,000,000,000 times (maybe some more zeros and commas thrown in there), but thanks a whole heck of a lot. -
Why are we even discussing goalies? Wasn't it just the other day that Ken Holland was quoted as saying that the goaltending is something that has been brought up to him every season for 15 years? Do we really think he's going to suddenly decide that THIS is the year to start cashing in for a goalie? Because somehow... I just don't see it happening.

Well, okay, if you must know, having a job works like this: You get hired by an employer who asks that you perform certain tasks and complete specific objectives for them by a certain date or time, and in return, you get a paycheck. Yeesh, apparently it's not only hockey you guys aren't up-to-speed on. And to think I actually stood up for your team and the fans in that video. Now that is really "ammusing".
-
Yeah.... LOL.... you have a point.....

Nothing like a little early morning Wings confidence booster to wake up to. You're right - when the Wings want it, they want it, and there's nothing & nobody who can stop them. (Man, it felt good just to type.) Call me a pessimist, but I'm still a tad bit concerned about Nash & Mash against us. I'll have to wait to see how we play in the series against them, but given that Nash (I think) has the more goals against us than any other player in the NHL, I'm counting a lot more on their lack of playoff experience than I'd like to.
-
You're right. He isn't the be all end all. Maybe if this were years down the line & he were more experienced, I'd say he was. However, given his ability to "stand on his head" as some say, I can understand why people are bringing him up. There's no way to know until playoff time - but here's to Mason cracking under pressure and letting in 40 goals in the first period! :beerbuddy:
-
You know what, I cut them some slack. Their team has never been in the playoffs before (I think). It's nice to see that they have a good sense of humor about it. Nothing wrong with being a beginner - and I'm sure it's exciting to be heading to the playoffs this year. They'll learn in time.
-
I'm certainly not trembling in fear over Mason, but I definitely think we should be somewhat concerned about him. Yes, the playoff pressure will probably get to him - but for a rookie to have that kind of talent between the pipes? I think he's a legitimate concern.
-
There should be. You should be able to go to columbusbluejackets.com and go to their message boards there. Every NHL team has a message board through NHL.com.

O'Halloran? Really? Crap.
