I'm in the minority about Downey - and enforcers in general. I like the guy - I just don't like that all he seems able to do is throw the gloves. Granted, I haven't seen a whole lot of him.. but I've always been one for a finesse game over a physical game. But hey, if he helps the Red Wings and Babcock thinks he's what we need to get to the Cup, more power to him.

First - welcome to the boards. Things tend to get a little tense here at times - so hang in there! Second, I disagree about trading Franzen. I think having a physically large player of his skill is great for our team. Not only that, but I think a lot of the falling down you're seeing is because he's taking Homer's spot in front of the net. We all know that NOBODY can do it like Homer does - but I don't think Franzen just falls over left and right because he can't keep himself up. He's taking the beatings that Homer normally takes. I think we should definitely try to hang onto him if we can.

It's easy to hate the Wings - and even easier to jump on the bandwagon. We're consistently a cup contender. Some feel that it "isn't good for the sport". Either way - it certainly makes the wins that much more enjoyable.

Did Neil go anywhere or did we freak about nothing?

I don't know.. I heard Neil went to the Panthers. Haven't heard any updates on NHL Live! since.

Actually, I'm the one that everybody gets pissed off at because I don't get pissy after a loss - I assume that we'll be fine and I don't concern myself with it. I'd rather have a win, losing Hossa or not. Losing him was unfortunate, BUT it doesn't make the win any less significant. We're one point away from tying Boston & San Jose. If you don't read into the games - fine. But you're coming on here and trash talking everyone else, calling them dumbasses and idiots for celebrating a win. THAT'S why people are getting so pissed off with you. Not because you have different ideas on what a perfect game is.

It's not just you. It's everyone who was involved in the name-calling or "comebacks" and the discussion over whose was more effective. Not everybody agrees with you - it's not a big deal. I don't see a reason for this argument continuing any further other than to annoy people.

You don't celebrate wins, so we shouldn't either because it shows a lack of common sense. That's really what you're saying, here. If you don't want to discuss what the Wings have improved on since the game against Nashville - don't. But don't look down on others for doing it.
