Time to line up for your crow.

Ozzie defenders will never win on this forum - even if he plays spectacular games from here on out. Why? Any solid play will be attributed to the defense while any goals given up will be Ozzie "falling back into his slump". It's lose/lose.

When did this turn into an "exert your intellectual ruling over others" thread? Grow up.

    Quite a Perfect Game!

Are you too poor to own a tv or are you just that dumb? Every hospital test came back negative. He's fine - and Babcock expects him to be with the team in Colorado tomorrow.

You know, as soon as I saw "last post: uk_redwing", I thought to myself "I FORGOT DOWNEY'S FIGHT!" So here it is. AND DOWNEY GETTING THE PHYSICAL SIDE OF THE WINGS GOING.

Hossa injured vs. Blues, carried out on stretcher

I can't imagine they'd play him tomorrow. I mean, they let him take a game off for concussion-like symptoms. I don't see them putting him in after being hospitalized.

    Quite a Perfect Game!

Flip makes his first goal in, what, 19 games? Osgood not only has a solid game, but get's a shut out. Kopecky puts up a huge push for the playoff run and shows the effort he's been putting on the ice. Lebda blocks an amazing shot, saving the Blues from getting a goal. Draper scored without using his face.. and with a goalie in the opposing net. But.. you're right. Hossa got hurt. How dare we celebrate the victory of our team's "underdogs".

    The person below me game...

I don't know if it's THAT fast, but it's pretty fast due to three years of typing class in high school. (GO REGINA!) TPBM is looking to buy a new car in the next year.

    The person below me game...

Haha, no. I've never been to jail for anything - whether I did it or not. TPBM has tried Sonic, now that there's actually one in this area!

    The person below me game...

Nope. I take my checks and deposit them the old-fashioned way. TPBM is taking a vacation in the next couple of months.

    Red Wings fans

And these posts are the kind that make me smile with glee to be able to call myself a fan of such a strong organization. There is no viable reason to hate the Red Wings other than the fact that they're consistently a top contending team. These are the people you just have to look at and appreciate what so much success has brought to this franchise. Let him/her flame. Let him/her wallow in their delusions. We have the Stanley Cup. Need I say more?

Why no word on Hossa or Franzen?

But.. But.. But... I wanted another lifelong contract.

    Red Wings' Injury Updates

So Lilja gets in a fight and then..... doesn't fight? I am confused. Punch the guy or something. Cripes. Hossa did a better job than Lils.

I enjoy watching hockey just as much as you do, I just don't enjoy telling others what to do with their time on a ticket they bought. If someone is standing in front of me obnoxiously for a prolonged period of time, I'll say something - otherwise, I'm too focused on the game to really care what the people around me are doing. Like I said, it's frustrating - but there's not a whole lot you can do about it other than post threads on LGW.

Did no one else watch the game last night?

Detroit is, officially, considered a member of the "original six". The teams were the only 6 teams in the league between 1942 and 1967. My guess would be that due to the long stretch of time when those were the only teams in existence, the nickname was earned.

    Ericsson/Downey Up; Helm/Leino to GR

Agreed. As much as I enjoyed it, the last thing I want to see is Hossa having to throw the gloves again.

    Ericsson/Downey Up; Helm/Leino to GR

I'm not a big Downey fan, but if the Wings are looking for grit - he's definitely the one to call.

Did no one else watch the game last night?

Exactly. Every fan base has different chants they do. Like when we say "Tur-co" whenever we play Dallas. Or the Hank chant when Z scores a goal. I don't view the "you suck" chant any differently than that.

    2009 NHL Trade Deadline Thread

I hope Boston clones Kopecky about 25 times and fills their team with him. I'd be happy to face them in the SCF then.

    Red Wings fans

There's different types of fans for any sport. It holds true with the Red Wings. I'll address each issue with my thoughts. Some of it is due to traffic and parking. Some of the people who attend the games are older which probably attributes to the time. And some of them probably just can't deal with the rush to get into the JLA. For whatever reason they have, this has never bothered me very much. It's their ticket - they can do with it as they please. I haven't noticed much of this at Wings games. I do know, however, that the ushers at the entrance aren't allowed to let you up the stairs until a stop in play. So it's normally those times - stops in play, commercial breaks, intermissions - when I notice a bunch of people walking around. During the actual play, you won't see much due to the ushering rules. Personally, I know that finding the seats is fairly easy as long as you pay attention to the step numbers.. but I'm sure some people would feel rather silly asking the usher. Some are just flat out drunk. And some don't want to hold up the line behind them to ASK the usher where the seats are. I've never had the experience where someone around me doesn't know where their seat is, but I can imagine it'd be frustrating. However, you can't force someone to ask an usher. You can't force them to memorize seat locations. And you sure as hell can't force them to be intelligent. So while it's irritating, there's nothing you can do. I think a lot of those people are regular season ticket holders who don't view the game with the same passion as the fans in the upper bowl do. This isn't to say that those people AREN'T passionate about hockey - but they know that they can go to a game in two days. So instead of sitting and waiting in the rush to get home, they leave early and finish it up on the radio. I also think a lot of them are company tickets - so people who wouldn't normally BUY Red Wings tickets go just for the experience - for something to do. They bring clients, coworkers, etc.. but again, it's all a matter of the level of passion you have for the team. None of this bothers me. People are free to do what they want at Red Wings games. It's their ticket, their money, and their choice. I don't think it's our place to judge them for how they act. The Red Wings organization got their money - which is all that matters.

RWN HQ (east) Saturday 3/14/09 Wings v. Blues 2:00 pm

I can't make this one. Not only is it the day after my birthday but I'm flying out to Boston to hang with some friends for the week.

Did no one else watch the game last night?

It doesn't bother me too much. Obviously, I don't like it.. but 99% of the hockey world knows that the Wings DON'T suck. It's just drunken game-day cheering. I don't take offense. EDIT: Besides, shutting out the defending Stanley Cup Champions would be a huge deal for any team. Definitely something to get excited and crazy over.
