LMAO. That is, by far, the best post in this thread. As for the game tonight - defense was horrible. The puck wasn't liking the offense that much. Blue Jackets were doing an amazing job of clogging up the middle - gotta give them credit. And Osgood was solid. Compared to his performance eight/nine days ago before he took his break - I'll take this Osgood over that one in a heartbeat. He made key saves - SOME EVEN ON BREAK-AWAYS!! (I know. Breathe deep. Hold onto something, if you must. Calm yourself.) He's not 100% yet - but he's certainly improved A LOT. Instead of pointing out that he hasn't made it to where he was last season, why don't we start pointing out how much he's improved in the last eight/nine days?

Probably not. I'm standing up in my cousin's wedding in the morning - and I'm freaking myself out about doing something wrong. TPBM eats family dinners.
-
P.S. I love you is SOOOOOOO cute. Man. Damn you, Hollywood.
-
*Cue unnecessary Osgood hate.

That's the end of this game. Defense was horrible tonight.

4-1 Buffalo.

I am SO proud of Osgood. Consistent goaltending two days in a row. Glad to have him back.
-
We better come out fierce as ever in the third. THANK GOD this is only the 2nd.

I have yet to see you post one single positive comment about the Wings. I keep waiting!
-
Curse you, goalpost gods.
-
God Detroit, WAKE UP.
-
How can you call tripping if the guy never fell? Or am I missing something?
-
LOL@Columbus fans booing. 'Tards.
-
...........Tripping? Really, ref? Pathetic.
-
Wow.... Mason is good.

Apparently, goaltender interference doesn't exist against the Red Wings. Oz did a great job, though. Our defense really needs to pretend they're alive.
-
Heck yeah! I'll bring the duct tape. TPBM is a good singer.

There are so many reasons why I'm impressed with this picture. First, the Lilja jersey. Second, the piercing. Third, that's the most high-tech paper shredder I've ever seen. And most of all... The fact that you've mastered the art of MySpace posing.

Comparing Chelios to McCarty ends at... well... age. Detroit LOVES McCarty and I honestly believe that's one of the only reasons we keep him around. He doesn't produce anymore. Whether that's because he isn't on the ice enough or because he's just getting old - I can't tell you. But having McCarty in the line up doesn't do anything for this team the way it did in the 90s. (Better? )

I distinctly remember a game where our defense allowed three break-aways.. Ozzie saved two of them. And the one he let in - he was skinned alive for. The amount of ridicule he gets is absolutely uncalled for. To want your goalie to stop a break-away or odd-man rush is normal. To flame your goalie for not doing so is not. Anyway, just my two cents. I, obviously, was unhappy with the treatment of Ozzie.

Seriously - why is Eklund even allowed near a computer?

1. Patrick Roy - I don't really have to explain myself on this one. He was an arrogant prick and he didn't care who knew it. He had amazing goaltending skills, but he really needed to check himself into some anger management classes. I'll never forget hearing when he gave his "I'm not playing for your team anymore - trade me" speech to the Avalanche coach. ******* at his finest. (NOTE: My father struggles with this. Somewhere down my dad's bloodline, Patrick Roy is related to us - so my father takes that to mean that he needs to feel an obligatory LIKE for him. Eff that, I say - he's a prick.) 2. Sidney Crosby - I think there's a decent following for Crosby in Pittsburgh.. but you go elsewhere in the hockey nation, and you're not going to find many warm fuzzy feelings towards him. He whines about EVERYTHING. It's almost like he thinks he should be getting some sort of preferential treatments just because he's Crosby. And him jumping a player without even mentioning fighting to him - right from the face-off circle.. the other guy having no idea.. that was just pure BS. Many people think Crosby being chosen as the face of the NHL is offensive due to the talent and poise that other players in the league have shown for this organization for years. Crosby is, without a doubt, hated... widely. 3. Steve Ott - This could just be based on the Dallas games that we've had this season - but this guy makes me want to throw my TV out the window. He's the only player in the entire NHL who can actually make me yell at our players to kill him. (Not something that I normally condone - but in Ott's case, I make a huge exception.) His only talent when it comes to being on the ice (and this could be because I hate him so much) is pissing people off. But, have no fear - he's a great multi-tasker too. He can skate AND piss people off at the same time! Wahey! Talent galore!

Now THAT is good!

He could have a shut out, and you people would praise the defense and say Osgood got lucky. He could have to stop six break-aways - and you guys would get mad at any of them that happened to squeak by him.. ignoring the fact that the defense made the huge blunder to begin with. Nothing Osgood does is going to make 90% of the people on this forum happy. He's not a top ten goaltender.. don't expect him to be. If that's what you want, go watch another team - like the Sharks or the Bruins. I'm not saying that he hasn't been inconsistent - he most certainly has. But holy christ - he played a consistent game tonight and he looked three legs better than he did last time he was in net. Give the man some ******* credit. Be a fan of your TEAM. Not JUST of winning. I swear, the fastest way to get LGW to hate you is to be a fan of your starting goaltender.
