    Steve Yzerman

Didn't Yzerman play with an extremely messed up leg before? Anyways, I think Babcock was taking the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" approach. The Wings have the depth to let our injured guys rest a little longer. And considering we won the first two games, what did he have to lose by letting Dats rest and extra day or two?

Something that I've noticed about Mellon Arena

I saw a handful of Wings fans at Mellon Arena last night. There was definitely more than one. And yes, last year, they were checking ID's to see if you were from PA or not. I haven't heard of them doing it this year though, so let's not jump the gun and start trashing them until we know.

Is Osgood on the verge of a meltdown?

Osgood doesn't get rattled. He could have a meltdown. Everyone on our team could. But given his history, I'd have to say he won't. That's just not him.

SCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Penguins 4

Honestly, I told my dad before the game that if Pittsburgh was going to win one, it was going to be last night. They were going back to home ice & home crowd. And they won. Did anybody really expect us to sweep them? I certainly didn't. I'm not upset over the loss. I'm not upset with the way our team played. I just want to go out in game 4 and win.

    Me too. Awesome post!

    Crosby Stanley Cup Commercial

I was just about to say that Crosby and the Penguins isn't the only team they did this commercial on. No conspiracy. Just a commercial.

Mark Messier Leadership Award finalists named

Hate me all you want, but I think Crosby deserves to be a finalist.

    Gonchar Believes Wings Lucky

Good teams find a way to win, lucky bounces or no lucky bounces. Period. End of discussion.

Hossa to be re-signed after postseason

According to the Pens, Hossa was saying the same things in Pittsburgh. I'm not going to believe it until I hear/read something official.

Do you think Draper will retire after this season?

Who is going to take Chelios? Honestly? I love the guy and have ample respect for him, but I can't see any team in the NHL taking Chelios onto their roster. I know he'd like to end up back in Chicago - I just don't see it happening. And Drapes may complete his contract. Holmstrom may too, for that matter. But I wouldn't be shocked if they chose to walk.

Do you think Draper will retire after this season?

    Well, that was a give-in.

Do you think Draper will retire after this season?

If we win, I think Maltby, Draper, and Holmstrom will all retire.
  13. Lmao, that's hilarious. That's all there is to say.

    Who else just heard Linny?

Lmao. I heard it. People are so ridiculously delusional that it's downright hilarious.

SCF GAME 2 GDT: Penguins 1 at Red Wings 3

Don't even bother responding to the trolls, guys. They aren't going to give the Wings any credit. - THEY outplayed US, but we won... twice. - The Wings are just the beneficiaries of lucky bounces. Any goals they got were because the boards are too lively and the bounces go in Detroit's favor. - And let's not forget that the refs are out to get Pittsburgh! Seriously, that's some of the dumbest ******* s*** I've read in a long time. Somebody needs to lock all of those people in a room and just leave them there. Oh the irony of a Pens fan posting a thread on our forums asking us to give credit if the Pens win.

    Pens Boards, (merged)

Osgood a cocky d-bag? Ummmm, no. Osgood has got to be one of the most level-headed, respectable guys in the league. Try again, Pissburgh fans.

Zetterberg covering the puck on Ozzie's back...

I agree with you - both teams got away with stuff last night. I hope they don't get cheap powerplays as a "make up" for the missed PS call. I mean, their PP isn't that great, but neither is our PK. (Last night, it was all Ozzie.)

Zetterberg covering the puck on Ozzie's back...

Crosby said in the post-game interview that he wasn't sure what the exact rule was for the puck being on the ice as opposed to the goalie's back so he brought it up just in case. I don't think he did anything our players wouldn't have done. Z got away with a big one last night. In fairness to the ref, he had a heck of a lot of action to be watching and I can see how Lidstrom pushing his stick down on the other side could distract him from what Z was doing with his hand. If he would've seen Z, my guess is that Pittsburgh would've gotten the penalty shot.

Crosby and Malkin... who are they?

There you go. Point in check. How can anybody say they're NOT a two-man team?

    Crosby Postgame

I'm not exactly sure what the ruling is for penalty shots. I just remember a team we played getting a penalty shot because Lebda covered the puck on the ice with his glove. It may be different because the puck was on Ozzie's back rather than the ice, but I really don't know. After watching his interview, he said he wasn't sure of what the ruling is either. But if it's illegal to cover the puck with your glove on the ice, I'd probably ask the ref if someone did that on the goalie's back as well. Also, I'm pretty sure he called Malts "Kirk".

You mean on top of being amazingly "cool", I'm also a mind-reader?! AWESOME! Hahaha.

Crosby and Malkin... who are they?

I'm with you there. I often get called a homer for thinking the Penguins are a two man show.. but watching them through three separate series, I really believe that's true. Most of their goals either come from them or are assisted by them. When their team is down a man, one of those two is double-shifted. When there's a 4-on-4, they're both out there together. The Pittsburgh Penguins are Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, and on really good days: Staal.

    Beat Chicago Shirt

I checked the sports apparel section and it wasn't there. I then asked an employee and she directed me to a set-up right by the front doors with a whole rack of them. There were two set-ups at the Meijers by my house, though. I'd look right by the entrances. Here's the shirt:

Crosby and Malkin... who are they?

Crosby and Malkin are both excellent hockey players. The Wings just have a remarkable ability of shutting star players down. Doesn't mean C & M are all hype.. it just means Detroit is good at silencing them.
