Babcock....seriously then, GET YOUR TEAM MOTIVATED. The Wings will overcome their troubles, I have faith in Conklin and maybe Brad McCrimmon. Scratch the McCrimmon part.

Should we abandon the race for the President's trophy?

I say we forget Osgood. -
Should we abandon the race for the President's trophy?
Winged_Wheeler replied to Yzerman191's topic in General
Babcock said he doesn't care about the President's trophy. I guess always winning isn't something he likes. -
I don't have any problems with his contract at all. If we traded him you'll see what'll happen. The Wings won't have a great passer on the second or third line, considering Babcock always messes with the lines, OR he's most likely to breakout someone else.

Teams have figured out Detroit's system.
-
I've always seen something in this guy and he always looked like early Datsyuk on the ice, pass first, shoot later. Filppula is a keeper.

Mike Babcock is no Scotty Bowman.

Stop creating labels for people you don't know. I have every reason to be mad, you all should be mad. The Red Wings are EXPECTED to WIN. There's no excuses. Detroit didn't play hockey tonight, took the Islanders lightly, and overall just didn't care. Maybe they'll get a wake up call in the first round...oh wait...8-0 lose....8-2 lose....2-0 lose....majority of games won by 1 goal. MOTIVATION. MOTIVATION. MOTIVATION. MOTIVATION. The team NEEDS MOTIVATION. Honestly, I thought Lidstrom was capable of being a leader, ALWAYS. Looks like he's still hungover from Lord Stanley. And another thing, Babcock destroyed chemistry that lines already had. Why screw up the things that won you a Cup? Mixing and matching the lines isn't a sign of a good coach, it really isn't. You can't say that's Babcock's fault, it's 100% Babcock's fault. If Babcock doesn't agree with the assistant coachs he can over rule them. But now? Man oh man...Babcock finally notices a line combo that could actually work. Yes you can use tonights game and say the lines sucked, but didn't we win a Cup last year with Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom? Chemistry is broken. A team cannot be consistent when you're at practice practicing with those line mates and all of a sudden at game time there's last minute changes while on the bench. What is up with that? Don't get me started with the defense, it's absolutely terrible. Answer me this, "Will throwing the puck up the boards in the defensive zone, keep in mind you're in the National Hockey League, create offensive opportunities or eliminate the threat of the opponent scoring?" No. I've seen it all year long. I have every single Red Wings game recorded and ever since game 1 of the regular season they've done that lazy play. You'll see a rare number of players actually skate it out of the zone, such as Filppula, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Hossa. Lidstrom- throw up the boards, Kronwall- Stand around and throw up boards, Staurt- Pretending to be doing something, Rafalski- Leaning into the habit of throwing the puck up the boards. You will not win hockey games like this. The whole defense is either screwed up or every team in the NHL has solved the Red Wings. Hmm... So don't for one second ever make a judgment and tell me I'm not a Red Wings fan or I don't know what I'm talking about.

Lol I''m praying the Red Wings get taken out in the first round now. 2-0 lose to Isles, 8-0 to Preds, 8-2 to Jackets (I think). I feel sorry for Hossa for joining this joke of a team. This is the Sharks year and no one can argue.
-
As long as you're not coached by Brad McCrimmon, then you're fine.
-
Wings lose 5-2. Conklin leaves with groin injury. Osgood gives up 5 soft goals and later tells the press "I felt good out there". .................... JK.
-
Wings didn't deserve to win. They didn't play hockey there. The goals that got were busting into the zone with speed- Datsyuk, Franzen, and Hudler did that. I'm sick of all the line changes. People wonder why the Wings have trouble- no chemistry can be formed anymore. That's one of the things that could kill the Wings' playoff hopes. You are NOT going far in the playoffs with lazy half ass throw up the boards plays, not skating out of the zone, and not entering the zone with speed.

3/21/09 Dallas Stars at San Jose Sharks GDT
Winged_Wheeler replied to Wingsallwin's topic in General
Sharks will jump ahead of us. Lets hope our Wings can win back to back nights. -
Osgood played great and those three goals weren't his fault. First goal Staurt fails to clear, second goal 4-3, third goal Kronwall and the rest of the clown defense stood around with 30 seconds left- PLAY 60 MINUTES! Overall nice game. I'm hoping the Stars can buckle down and beat San Jose. Wings...get ready for the Flames and blow out the Oilers. GO WINGS!

7-0 Wings Zetterberg x2, Hossa x3, Lidstrom, Franzen.

f*** Nubby -
Retarded as hell. Babcock needs to be hit in the head with a 2x4 or who ever decides this crap. Dan Cleary on the second line with Zetterberg and Hossa? Are you kidding?
-
Keep Franzen and Hossa and let Sammy and Huds go....I know, I know that they're good players, but we have some guys in the minors who can't wait to get up here.
-
And to think if all of those injuries didn't happen Mule might have not broken out of his shell.
-
Oh yeah, Filppula is not getting traded.
-
Red Wings win 5-0 Goals by: Hossa x2, Lidstrom, Franzen, Zetterberg.
-
Maybe, but we'll take McCarty before Haydar.
-
Get rid of Huds, Sammy, and Conks. Hossa and Franzen stay. Lidstrom retires after the 09-10 season
-
Babcock is such an idiot...split up Datsyuk and Zetterberg? Cleary a second liner? Filppula on the third line? What a joke...
-
Babcock f***ed up the lines at the beginning of the season He doesn't know how to fix our defense and neither does Brad McCrimmon Todd McClellan knew how to play the Wings
