BWAHAHAHA I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN... Red Wings leading 4-1...4-2...4-3...4-4... Tie the game 5-5 Lose in shootout. Brad McCrimmon (Detroit's defensive coach) you are one of the problems of this team. Chris Osgood, you are a problem. Ty Conklin...think you can hang onto the puck? The Red Wings aren't winning the Stanley Cup this year.
-
If Conklin's in net- 9-0 Wings Osgood in net- 6-4 Wings
-
They've had their wake up call, now lets see what they can do.

Forget the deadline, the OFF SEASON is where its at?
Winged_Wheeler replied to YoungGuns1340's topic in General
Getting rid of Filppula would be bad. Fippula is Datsyuk's replacement and Leino is Zetterberg's replacement. Filppula is one hell of a passer, like Datstyk, he can deke when he's confident, Leino can score, hang onto the puck, and read the play. -
Lidstrom is lazy now, I think he's getting too old. Don't you see him make lazy ass plays by trying to throw the puck up the boards in the defensive zone? SKATE IT OUT

Would the Wings be better off had they Pursued Goalie Instead of Hossa
Winged_Wheeler replied to a topic in General
It's our defense and Osgood. We got some great guys down in the AHL. This is the year where we have all the right pieces in place for another Cup, minus the defense, for now... -
I like the defensive system that Columbus is playing especially because our defense coach, Brad McCrimmon, can't realize the system Detroit is currently playing with is standard bulls*** play, throw the puck up the boards, play a weak box, no flushing out guys behind the net. Anyways, the Red Wings probably won't win the Cup this year. If Detroit gets to the Western Conference final I doubt they'll take out San Jose.

Marian Hoss-AH Valterri Filppuuu yeah...

How do you fix this team's defensive problems?
Winged_Wheeler replied to Yzerman191's topic in General
How to fix the Red Wings defense- -Somebody yell at Brad McCrimmon and ask him what the F*CK he is doing... -Yell at Lidstrom and the rest of the defense clowns to stop throwing the puck up the boards and skate it out of the zone. -
Keep Franzen and Hossa would consequently result in letting Jiri Hudler and Mikael Samuelsson go.

Is it time to make some major moves for this year's playoff run?
Winged_Wheeler replied to boomer's topic in General
No changes other then firing Brad McCrimmon. The Red Wings have some of the best players in the world, Pavel Datsyuk Henrik Zetterberg Marian Hossa Johan Franzen Nick Lidstrom Motivation is all they need. -
Chris Osgood Pavel Dasyuk Henrik Zetterberg Ville Leino Mark my words.
-
If Osgood can't recover from his Stanley Cup hangover or what ever funk he is in I say trade his ass and try to keep Conklin.
-
Just remember though, last night if Chris Osgood was in goal the score wouldn't have been any better.
-
Yeah maybe they secretly go to a Rave after games.
-
Franzen is signing and so is Hossa. I've spoke with Hossa and he told me he's living a players dream by playing in Detroit and his agent is trying hard to work out a deal with Ken Holland.
-
I'm hearing rape and drugs...rumors though.

I have always wondered about Lidstrom this year, he isn't playing his best hockey. Do you notice teams dump the puck in on Lidstrom's side now? They know that he's not likely to win the battle in the corner. And when he does he throws the puck up the boards which results in a forward or defense men on the other team regaining procession.
-
I think the master plan is to be behind the Sharks for the sake of who they're going to be playing in this years playoffs.
-
Final score 4-2 Avs win. 2 disallowed goals by Datsyuk and Hossa. Why? O'Halloran says the goaltender wasn't ready, so therefore no goal.
-
I love how people still think Filppula is leaving. It's like saying I'll trade Zetterberg (at the point where Filppula is in his career right now). Filppula looks almost identical to the style of Datsyuk's and Zetterberg's play. If anyone we would have to trade it would be Samuelsson or Lebda. Hossa is staying, Franzen is staying, Filppula is staying, Hudler could stay or go, Samuelsson gone, Lebda questionable.

Filppula has the most Even Strength points after Z, D, Hossa
Winged_Wheeler replied to Z and D for the C's topic in General
I don't care how many people hate Filppula and think he sucks, but I do know this, Filppula and Leino will be playing on the top line within the next 8 years. -
Well, I remember when Zetterberg and Datsyuk were Filppula's age. Did they shoot a lot? No. Did they pass the puck a lot? Yes. Why? That's the European style hockey. Don't you remember the Russian Five? All passing and then looking for the opening lane. Filppula's going to be great some day and everyone will love him. Oh yeah...
-
Filppula is not being traded.

My Prediction of the game... Announcers will talk about how Detroit is getting lucky by winning games by 1 goal and they might be in trouble.... Sid, The Comeback Kid, will most likely carry the Penguins to the playoffs Zetterberg is slumping this season Chris Osgood has Stanley Cup Hangover The whole Red Wings team has Stanley Cup hangover... The game... Penalty on Cleary for hooking Malkin, Penguins score first on Power play. Hossa takes an insane slap shot that ties the game with 5:33 left in the first period. Datsyuk makes an incredible pass to Zetteberg on a 2-1 which results in the Wings being up 2-1 Penalty on Draper for slashing on Sid Crybaby, 5 minute major, no blood found. Wings kill the penalty. 10:32 left in the 2nd period, Filppula cycles the puck in the offensive zone and feeds one back to Lebda, takes a shot, deflected in by Hudler. 3-1. 3rd period 14:02 Malkin score with a wicked wrist shot that beat Conklin. 3-2. 6:54 Zettberg gets his second of the night from Datsyuk and Cleary. 2:00 left- Penalty called against Lilja for delay of game, Crybaby lost his balance and knocked Lilja into the Detroit net that comes lose. Penguins have the man advantage for the rest of the game, NBC announcers getting a hard on when ever Crybaby gets the puck. Wings kill of penalty. I changed my mind from before, Wings win 4-2
