I'd put Filppula and Franzen on a line just because they have amazing chemistry with each other now. I think Leino can also play on the second line with Filppula. I would still like our third line, Hudler-Helm-Cleary
-
I don't think Stevie would ever leave the organization...I hope not. Seriously though, he was a Red Wing for life, loved the team, and was the Captain of the new era.
-
All I know is if it was Detroit, they'd all become Unrestricted Free Agents.
-
Yeah the defensive pairing are going to be the same, most likely. I like the second line, maybe some chemistry will come about with Leino and Filppula considering they're both from Finland. We also know how unstoppable Franzen is with Filppula. I am going to miss the Franzen-Filppula-Hossa line though.

You pick the Flames as one of the best? The Flames have to be one of the most generic names for a team, not only in hockey but global across all sports.
-
Here you go- Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Cleary Leino-Filppula-Franzen Hudler-Helm-Abdelkader Maltby-Draper-Holmstrom
-
I watched the presser for the Hossa and Kopecky signing and Chicago's GM really didn't seem intimidated when the press mentioned the free agents next year in Chicago. Either way I don't think they can resign all their free agents.

Wings will re-sign Leino to a 2-year deal

I think Filppula will break out this upcoming season since Hossa is gone. Filppula will probably play on the second line with Franzen. I think Filppula will be great some day (he's already showed he can step up in the playoffs). -
I know it's hard to believe it, but I very well think our chances are still great. Look... Hossa is gone, that's going to change a lot of things in terms of how players will HAVE to play. Zetterberg is going to have to step up, 40+ goals Franzen is going to have to score 40+ goals Cleary has to step up his play in the regular season to ensure we win games, he's fantastic in the playoffs. Filppula is going to have to play a bigger role, Number 2 center and is expected to break out.
-
No, he's there for hell of a long time and Chicago is no doubt a good team. It sucks we're not going to see Hossa lift his first Cup as a Red Wing.
-
It's fine. Hossa had to do what he had to do, same with Kopecky. Hossa seems to love Chicago, nice city, good team, good crowd, seems like he hit the jackpot.
-
how about this.... f*** YOU MARIAN HOSSA
-
Better overall core of defensemen - Flames or Wings?

Detroit in a heart beat, we're winning the Cup this season. -
twitter.com/marianhossa is this real? it looks like a new account...lets hope it gets updated
-
I'm hoping Hossa will come to his way and sign with the Wings. Get a last look at your options; you claimed you wanted to sign some where long-term and you're willing to take less to have a chance to win every year. If Hossa leaves, he leaves, if he stays then we've got Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, Hossa, and Filppula which is one hell of a team right there. Be smart Hossa, if you want to win stay here, don't judge the team just for this last season...you can't keep running around the league hoping you're going to win- Stay in one place and make the best of it.
-
Here we are back in the rebuilding process. Some of our young guys need to learn how to lose before they can learn how to win. Let's all hope for a great 2009-2010 season and hopefully another great Cup run.
-
I can't seem to find the article on the website main page or free agency page, let's hope this is false.
-
I'm not seeing this report any where else yet, so I'm not going to lose hope but gut feeling is he's not re-signing.
-
He was one of my favorite players on the Wings, too bad he's no resigning. I'm not going to hate his guts though, he has to do what he has to do and having a chance of winning the Stanley Cup every year evidently doesn't matter to him anymore.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa

It's not like the Red Wins can sign him today, it'll have to be tomorrow due to the tagging rule. -

I don't know how many times I have to say this.... Filppula is not going any where even if we do or don't sign Hossa. You'll see, he's going to be one of our best guys on our team, I already think he's one of our best but it's going to take some time to get it through some thick skulls. -

I'm not going to lose hope yet because Hossa cannot be signed until July 1st anyway due to the tagging rule. -
The players are good, the one managing them is not- Brad McCrimmon.
-
He sucked when he was on the Red Wings and he sucks as an assistant coach with the Red Wings.
-
Everything.
