I approve of this, to bad the league never will. The league seems to think the west needs the Wings to make it more popular to the non-hockey types in the iceless U.S. The way the transplanted Wings fans go to games it seems to prove out somewhat. Maybe with Chicago returning to the upper crust it would take some pressure off the Wings to carry the mantle. I just don't see re-alignment though. No way they leave Chicago as the lone original six in the west. How would you do it? What geographic lines would you use?

It's kind of nice thinking other teams might be waking up and checking the Wings box score in the morning. Maybe getting that look in their eyes, looking over their shoulders for us. But truth be told I'm just ready for playoff hockey, I don't care who we play.

What Howard did was cool but at some point Hank's gonna have to take care of s*** like this himself. Maybe in a playoff game and you want the extra man you don't engage but last night was the end of the game. I think the reason he had to go back to Howard was because of the whatnots. I'm hoping Howard has what it takes to tough it out the rest of the way. Obviously it's him we're riding. If not shame on Babcock for not getting both ready for the finale run.

I think that ill-will comment might be a bit out of context. What I thought he meant was the hit was just playing and he meant no premeditated harm to Drapes. (at least not facial reconstruction harm) He is also right about leaving s*** on the ice. That's not to mean they should be golfing buddies but whatever happens in the framework of a game needs to end off the ice. Death threats and police escorts are bulls*** stuff, no place for it in any sport. I didn't see any agendas from either, they didn't duck any questions and both seemed honest to me.

They don't want the 1 seed till they know Detroit won't be the 8 seed. I think we're this years Anaheim.

I just watched that and it was like an out of body experience. From watching it I don't think LaPhew thinks he did anything wrong when he hit Draper. Just hockey. I give them both props for agreeing to do this together, though I expected a brawl to break out anytime. ******* awesome interview.

Tradition people. I hope to never see the Wings make changes to their uni. Tradition is why a the Hawks sold jerseys when they stunk the joint up. It's why a team like the Tigers could be in the top 5 in the market when their team was losing 100 games a year. If it's a good design, and they don't f*** with it, any generation can say that's what they looked like when I started watching hockey. Instant recognition shouldn't be taken lightly.
