    Conn Smyth

If we're going to go down that road I'd give it to Crosby. The reason Malkin has done so well, at least against us, is because the Wings have deemed Crosby the more dangerous of the 2. How many pts does Malkin get in the finals if he had the Zetterberg blanket on him instead. Making Crosby the priority is why Malking gets the room he gets. The short of it is the Wings have made Crosby the most valuable on Pitt. by the way they play him.

    Journey "Dont Stop Believin" article

The best part is there are thousands of people in Pitt now who can't even bear to listen to Journey anymore. It is awesome to be there when the crowd gets going on it.

    Questions about Hossa and Pittsburg

Translation: your butt hurt which I don't have a problem with. My problem is your butt hurt on a Wings board. Give it a rest dude, post on a Pitt board where you're more apt to get a response your happy with.

Why can't anyone simply state this?

    How many more years

So who's your choices to say goodbye to after Os gets this elite money? Much of the Wings depth comes from not paying elite money for a goalie. As to the original question I can imagine Osgood playing a couple more years, maybe more but at some point we have to really look for our next net minder.

    Questions about Hossa and Pittsburg

People have spent a year and thousands of words trying to convey what you just did in a couple paragraphs. Pitt is a very good team so I'd have to say there was more to Hossa leaving than a better chance at a cup. I think using the cup was easier for him to say than what may have been the real reasons for leaving. Of course I'm guessing but that's my take on it. Hossa chose another team over theirs and they got butt hurt. Now I can't say I wouldn't feel the same, I'm a fan after all and fans are the most irrational people on earth.

Hossa ready to return to the Igloo

Since we are blessed with a Big E if you don't mind I'll call you Little E. Are you outta your mind, we're in a foxhole dammit. This is war. He lost one of his Majors, he became a Nazi dammit. You know that's almost as bad as joining the commies. the Wings are almost like the Red Army, Jesus they even dress like them. Eyes front, every man for himself, don't shoot till you see the whites....and so forth. BTtP keep your head down and stay the course. Even if Benidict drinks from the Cup you keep the party line going. At ease, dismissed.

    Gonchar Believes Wings Lucky

Hey Gonch you can't worry about luck so I'll give you something to worry and think about. The Grand Rapids Griffins called down Henrik Zetterberg and Chris Osgood to help them win the Stanley Cup.

  13. This guys article sums up a lot of things I was thinking after the game2 'scrum'. He pretty much wonders if Crosby is really the leader for the Pens and I couldn't agree more with him. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/190434-...the-pens-family

    Breaks, luck, and fate.

Didn't you watch all of game 2? We had our 5 on 3 for the series already, geez.
  15. That's a good one. I was in the Fark game day thread and a poster there commented that when he saw Malkin go off on Zetterberg he imagined a kid mashing his controller buttons. Now every time I see a replay I can just see that kids thumbs getting blistered on those buttons.

This time it will be different

I'm not embarrassed to be a fan. This mutt has run this lucky/unlucky point into the ground. For a rival board I think he has been treated pretty damn good. As card players are apt to say: losers cry while winners holler deal. He's crying and I'm screaming deal.

The Hossa 'slash' (Dupuis broke his own stick)

You think maybe Hossa was 'chirping' to much and he just whacked him for running his mouth?

Up 2-0, Still nervous as heck

I've said it before I would not be surprised if Pitt never wins a Cup with the "flower" in goal. He has been soft and hasn't even started giving up rebounds yet. He is above average at making snow angels. I added that last part because he is on the enemy team, but he is good at making them For every game he's able to steal (game 5 last year) he is just as apt to give one away. That is not the way to win a Cup. In short I like our chances for a parade.

    Pens Boards, (merged)

Some of their fans are very reasonable and know hockey but it doesn't take long for their posts to get buried in the drivel. The game day threads can be quite fun to read when things are blowing up for the Pens, last nights thread was a hoot. After Franzens goal you could cut the dread with a knife. The 'lively boards' seems to be the culprit last night, we were lucky to win.

Zetterberg covering the puck on Ozzie's back...

We got away with one there. With the brouhaha over the screw up on Hossa's goal against the Ducks we see that the calls can go both ways.

Too early to start the Osgood for Conn Smythe talk?

The topic name says it all. Yep, it's to early.

    Crosby Postgame

The pussifacation of hockey continues. For peeps to lose their minds over this is amazing. Embrace the fact that Maltby is in his head, even if it's only briefly. Maltby can take care of it on the ice hopefully. I give him props for being straight up about it. They had to list blocked shots on his stat sheet to buff it up, I hope he stays frustrated.

Hossa's cup quest garners little sympathy

Amen If the Pens had 2 Hossa's instead of a Hossa and a Malkin they might have made it over the hump last year. I also think had Hossa stayed Pitt would have won enough for Theirren to keep his job thus depriving Pen fans the love fest they have for the new coach, his leaving also is depriving Wings fans the joy of watching his pressers in the finals this year. I already miss the obstruction quotes. The Pens made it last year with some shrewd trade deadline work. The stunk it up till the trade deadline this year, made some moves(to go with a new coach) and made it back again. The arguement Pitt fans use to justify their hatred of him, 'it's not that he left but the way he left', just doesn't cut it with me. I would venture he spent a sleepless night or two making the biggest career choice of his life.

Hockey is Hockey, Dumb is Dumb

After the Kronwall hit in game 3 the league/refs knew game 4 could get out of hand real quick. The Hawks came out and looked for revenge instead of winning the game. No conspiracy. It was the refs job to make sure a hockey game and not a WWF match was played. If anyone thought the refs would put their whistles up there ass and only blow it during a gas attack is on drugs. Good for the Wings for keeping the real goal in sight, that big shiny thingie, and keeping their composure. I just caught the Quenneville interview on TV again and couldn't believe how much he sounded like the Pens Michelle last year with his obstruction crap.
