Getzlaf only played those kind of minutes because of Browns asshattery. I don't expect that again unless there is another ejection. That being said he cant' get those minutes back, they are out of his gas tank. Hopefully he pays the price for it somewhere. I don't think it was that even a game Friday night. The Ducks hit 2 posts and missed at least 2 nearly open net chances. We missed some as well. I would settle for starting out 50/50 knowing we can get so much better. The one thing I don't want to see is anyone going out of their way to line Brown up. Just play our game and let karma take care of s*** like karma does.

There's really 3 teams to compare. At the start of the season up to the trade deadline they were just awful. In danger of missing the playoffs. After the coaching change and the deadline acquisitions they became what we're watching now.

+11tee I want the Red Wings to be the bane of the 'model franchise' for many years to come. When they gather at the reunions years from now I want them to think of the glory they could have had if not for the Red Menace. On the other hand we already have a head start whipping on the Caps so if they make it to the finals beating the crap out of them again would bring me comfort. I like the show, they are fun to watch but it's entertainment. Ovie is Korn's daughters favorite player so he gets a nod from time to time. It's pretty much an Ovie/Crosby love fest if hockey gets mentioned at all. Bottom line is watch for what it is.... this show is why the E is in the name of the network.

We had a 4 month layoff before the first series with the Jackets, don't see why a 1 week layoff could hurt now. This is the best road team I think I've ever seen, in any sport. If we do lose a game due to rust home ice isn't a big deal to this team. Clinching their last 8 playoff series on the road is just remarkable.

Nice write up. What's the deal here? Were there mitigating circumstances that kept him from getting picked earlier? I mean that far down the draft and no one was willing to take a flyer on this guy.
