We Will Not Lose At Home!! What an ugly game, fitting that Manbearpig gets the GWG, what a steaming pile that was. No scapegoats necessary, the whole team lacked jump right from the beginning, the Penguins were able to capitalize on the bounces they got, we didn't, plain and simple. I do not expect that we will blow them out like we did in game 5, but we will play better. All we have to do is show up, unlike tonight. Oh well, looks like the beard will be coming off Friday no matter what.

I finally convinced my Habs fan co-worker to pull for the Wings tonight. He's as sick of Crosby as I am, but up until now he's been a hater. He repented.

Touche, salesman. The only real difference between Lindros and Crosby is that Eric's dad was the one who was doing all the hype, whereas Sid has had none other than the Commish himself as his advocate. Time will only tell what will be Crosby's undoing, I do not wish the concussions on him like Lindros, but every player that the league has tried to promote as the "Next One" has met with an untimely end to their career.

I miss Gary Thorne. No offense to Doc Emrick, who is a decent substitution, but like so many other Red Wings fans, Gary Thorne's voice does the inner play-by-play of my memories of our past Cup wins, it would be a shame if the networks did not make him a sufficient offer to bring him back to the sport he loves so much. I can't believe his talents are being wasted on Orioles baseball of all things.

I've been calling for the Franzen-Filppula-Hossa line ever since the playoffs started and Helm was called up. As for Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Cleary, that line is pure awesome, and I like having Hudler as the scoring threat on the 4th line, he played well in that role last playoff too. At times I wish Babcock wasn't so stubborn about line combos, but at the same time I wish he'd stick with what obviously has worked every time he's done it. Oh, well, that's why he's coaching and I fix computers.

Wow, what a game so far. We definitely need to keep our foot on the pedal, no going into a prevent defense, that would be a huge mistake. We have 7 skaters without points so far, let's get them on the board please!!

Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary Filppula-Datsyuk-Hossa Samuelsson-Helm-Hudler Leino-Draper-Maltby Based on overall play, Cleary deserves to be on the top line more than Hudler right now, having Filppula's energy on Datsyuk's wing should be a good thing, 3rd and 4th lines have some scoring potential and are solid defensively. I intentionally left out Holmstrom because at this point, he's a liability at both ends of the ice, and we can throw Franzen and Cleary on the PP to screen Fleury. I'd prefer that they dress Abdelkader over Maltby, but I doubt that will happen.

Actually, I perfer this analogy utilizing the Star Wars Trilogy: Games 1 and 2 were like the first movie, the good guys win, everybody feels good at the end. Games 3 and 4 were like the second movie, the bad guys emerge victorious at the end and everything liiks bleak for the good guys. Let's hope that games 5 and 6 are like the third movie, we finish the bad guys off once and for all. At the risk of souding nerdy, but from the outside Mellon Arena kind of looks like half of the Death Star sticking out of the ground. Red 5, I'm goin' in! Go Red Wings

To all the trolls flame-baiters bottom feeders Pens fans posting on this thread, try to understand this: We played as poorly as possible last night and deserved to lose. That being said, this thread is about the obvious embellishment that Crosby performed on that so-called slash in a game that his team was dominating, which 1) was a blatant attempt to draw a penalty, 2) displayed serious sportsmanship issues {like so many things he does} and 3) almost cost his team a goal when he carried his act too far and left his team a player* down in the defensive zone. That is what the OP referred to, that's what the thread is about. Take your negativity elsewhere, there is already plenty to go around from those that are actually Wings fans and are genuinely frustrated by what we witnessed. Edit: *notice I didn't say man
