I'll be at JLA today. Let's hope the boys keep on a roll and beat the Bruins again. I think it's going to be a tight game with Thomas in goal, but I think we can pull this one out if we play like we did Friday. Looking forward to seeing the tribute to Ozzie as well.

Except when he fired that shot in Game 3 against the Sharks that missed the net and went right to Thorton, who then scored in OT to give the Sharks a series lead 3-0.

Great start for once! Not to sound like a Debbie Downer, though, but I have to see it to believe it. And by "it" I mean consistency--consistency throughout the 1st period, consistency for the full 60 minutes, and consistency throughout the rest of the week. I want to be able to repeat my first sentence a week from now.

Which is why I love that when the Wings win, the logo of their jersey is hung facing outward, and when they lose, their names face out. The best part of Babs' post-game interview: The game was "beyond ridiculous." I'm all for him saying that their play was crap and unacceptable, but actually DO something about it, Babs. The definition of insanity is doing the SAME thing over and over and expecting a different result, and from what I've seen since '08, hammering on the same point and following the same strategies is NOT working. Change your tactics somehow because otherwise your whole staff should be fitted with white jackets.

Vladdy16 said it. The team needs to get their heads out of their asses. I think the problem the Wings suffer from the most is thinking too much. Just play hockey. Play simple hockey, and things may improve. Instead, they think too much during different parts of the game and it slows them down, creating turnovers, too much time in their own end, and bad defensive coverage. When they just play the game, it seems like the team gels better, the lines have better chemistry, and Jimmy has a better game, like at the beginning of the season. I did like what Mickey was saying during the end of the third period, that all teams go through a period where they really struggle. Unlike Mickey, I think it's lasted longer than just recently (more since mid-December), but like Mickey, it's all the mental components compounding to hinder this team: another injury-riddled season, a harder schedule for the last two months, and the guys never fully getting settled into a pattern of playing with one another.

Because they haven't done THAT already tonight . . . . . . or for the last two months.

When I was driving home from the game last night, they mentioned on the Ticket that there are only 30 regular games left, and my mind started thinking about September. Training camp is a ritual for me, and I can't wait.

Yes, but that is contingent on an actual Red Wings team playing.

Like the only one doing his job out there. He deserves to have a team playing in front of him.

I'm sorry, but I had a bad feeling about this game before it started. The way the team played last night had the feeling of how they were playing last year when they were trying to make it that last little way before players started coming back, but had run out of steam five games back. Kind of like Dec. 20 and 23 last year when we went back to back being shut out by Chicago, I just have a feeling it's going to be the same tonight as last night.

I wonder if Hossa ever tried to collect royalties from that commercial or the sequel one they did last year?

I just don't understand how the team that was rolling so well and playing so cohesively in October and for most of November just flipped a switch one day and became this team again for the majority of another season. They look so out of sync out there with sloppy passes, no communication, poor defense, and especially NO hustle and NO motivation. You'd think having an 8th consecutive sold out home game would be incentive enough for this team to actually put forth some effort for its devoted fans.

And Franzen in May during the Playoffs. That's all I can remember, although I think there might have been one more.

This would be a little more exciting if Team Lids were playing like they actually wanted to be there. But I can't blame them, why tax yourself too much when this doesn't count for your own team?

It was pretty fun overall to watch. Loved seeing Carey Price (I think?) talking to Tim Thomas after Shea Weber was picked, saying something like, "Guy was standing between the two dots and fired a hard shot at me. Nearly took my head off. Puck went streaking behind me into the glass. I'm glad it didn't take my head off." As for Kessel being chunky, there are a couple others in there that could benefit from Weight Watchers (*cough* Buffy *cough*). It's amazing the difference in conditioning level of our guys compared to other teams in the NHL. I guess we have Drapes to thank for that. Not one player on our team isn't pretty chiseled and lean. I may watch on Sunday now just to see Team Lidstrom obliterate Team Staal.

Okay, do we really have to listen to the host talk to every player after they're picked? I feel like I'm watching the Bachelor or something and the players are waiting to get roses from either Nick or Staal. :puke: Just let em at it! Good picks by Nick so far!

Just got back from the game. Thank you, boys, for the win! Some notes: 1. Nice to see Helm actually finish on one of his breakaways. 2. Zetterberg was robbed with those two penalties, especially the 2nd one (obviously). 3. Kindl look REALLY good out there. I am more and more impressed with his play each game. 4. Emmerton and Mursak know how to hustle out there. 5. Other than the first goal, Jimmy looked pretty solid out there. 6. Poor Patty looked like he was going to puke just before he got to the bench. And, no, he didn't come back to the bench after going to the dressing room. Any news on him? 7. Just before Flip skated onto the ice when Budd "called" his name, he smiled while looking off to the right. That was *me* he smiled at after I smiled at him.

Go, boys, go! I'll be at JLA tonight, and I've got good seats, so pull out a win by (1) starting on time, (2) playing tight defensively, and (3) playing for a full 60 minutes. Please and thank you!
