But we are in December and this is the time of year the games can start to become "statement" games. Teams are finally gelled up and such. La and Colorado are not statement wins. Not this year atleast.

Last year weren't they like 5th going into the all-star break? Look how that worked out. It is a promising start for a young team, but I would not get my hopes up until April. .

I like what I see from San Jose this year. I think this could be the year they get over the hump. As long as they avoid the Wings and the Ducks.

Not to mention the Olympic games could help Datsyuk's confidence. I assume he will be a top line player for Russia and he may get going with Ovechkin and the other Russian stars. It could help his shot and his "dangle dangle" going and then he carries it over to finish up the rest of the regular season on a tear. But back to the main point, the negatives outweigh the "positives" of these injuries.

But Leino is clearly snake-bitten right now. Who knows maybe playing with Flip would help him get his confidence back. Then maybe he could be a force on any line with any teammate.

The 26th of December Filppula returns to the lineup. Maybe Babcock will put Leino and Filp together? It could help Leino's confidence if he plays with his Finnish Brethren!

We are definitely going to need to go on a tear once we start getting healthy if we want to catch up to the Hawks. And lets face it, Leino is everyone's favorite whipping boy this year. I think that is primarily because we all had high expectations for him. He WAS the MVP of the Professional Finnish Hockey League. I saw some of his highlights on Youtube and he seemed like a really talented player. I am sure this year has been tough for his confidence and part is due to the tremendous expectations.

I liked what I have seen from Janik. He played very solid.

They also lost to the Sharks who are battling it out with them for first in the west. So that was the statement game for the Hawks two nights ago and they lost at home on Versus.

Yeah I understand your point and I totally agree. The Wings need to learn to send a damn message. Are they a group of men or some little mice. But hey, I am just saying it would be great to see how the Hawks would be playing without nine regulars out of the lineup.

Maybe Lebda is trying to up his game. I am not being sarcastic. He is fully aware of the mistakes he makes and a basic human thing is the idea of "progress." He is trying to progress his hockey skills!

Yeah. What did we have to lose in the end. I say pass on the injuries to the Hawks. I would like to see them play without Barker, Kane, Toews, Hossa, Seabrook, Byfuglin, Versteeg etc.

I would be more angry if we lost with our regular lineup but since that is no where near the case I am not angry. I know the Wings are trying the best with the lineup they have to use for now.

It really is funny how Hawk fans are sitting atop the world right now. They beat a group of AHL players in the freaking regular season.

Well my non homer pick was that we would lose 2-0. I was close. I hate this season, it is just not fair all these injuries have completely ruined this season. I have a lot of horrible things to say about the Blackhawks, but I am going to restrain myself from saying them.
