End of 1 and yet another scoreless period of Red Wings hockey. I keep telling myself this has to end but, um, yeah I just don't see that happening if they continue to play like they woke up 5 min ago.

Can we shoot it away from the logo?

Damn!

Great stick work from Kronners in front. We are so close I can smell it....

Pekka Rinne signs 7yr/$49M contract with Nashville
WingZNut13 replied to hockey23's topic in General
You think they are going to try and keep Suter before Weber? I tend to think it's going to be the other way around. I believer Weber can anchor that defense better than Suter can and that's why they'll keep Weber over Suter. -
Pekka Rinne signs 7yr/$49M contract with Nashville

They are going to lock up Weber before Suter and there won't be enough money to go around. This could seriously open up the options for Detroit in the offseason if not come the trade deadline. -
Thanks for the GDT Hockeytown #winning

Jimmah(!) couldn't keep it in his pants and how look at us! Great thread...highlight of the season so Best addition to this thread by far!

I hope he comes out tonight and just has a crazy good game. Babcock and the rest of the Red Wins office is so high on him, I hope he comes out and blows everyone out of the water. Maybe gives this team a spark and light a fire in them.
-
When he has been at the top, he is expected to stay there regardless of where his salary falls in the rankings of other NHL players.

Listened to both episodes and it's awesome! Really excited to hear two educated people talk about Red Wings hockey in what seemed like a non bias tone. I know it's only the first set of episodes but I think it would be awesome if you guys just kinda trolled around on the site a little bit and talked about the "educated" topics on here. Definitely would like to hear about NyQuist and maybe some line shakeups for the next one, stuff like that. Just my thought, never done a podcast before so I'm not sure what goes into it but for the first go, it was great! Can't wait to hear more!

Excited but nervous to see how he plays. Scared he doesn't bring any spark or anything and we are still looking for that "something" in the top 2 lines.

What has been the problem these last 4 games. I haven't gotten to watch a single game because of work and school. I know the CAPS whooping was just because we didn't show up and they were on a tear but what about the other three? I mean we go on a 5 game tear and then, we lose 4 straight. I am in no way saying our season is over, we are going to miss the playoffs, or that we need to address the goalie situation? I'm just curious, from level headed members, why we are slumping. Line Combos? Defense? Power Play? What do you guys think?

Really looking forward to seeing how Wiz plays and the commentary from LGW if/when he doesn't perform well. Look for Conks to rebound and have a great game! Let's geaux Wings! Wing-3 BJ's-1

Yeah I did the same thing. Watched the game this morning and I haven't seen us that bad since we got our asses beat by Nashville in 08. We just weren't there and it sucks we got killed but I mean we are 5-1! We couldn't have asked for a better start (6-0 obviously) but we are 5-1 and have a PP that can't do anything so there is room for improvement. We got drubbed but it's early in the season. We can't win them all. Let's go Wings!

Super Jacked up about this! As a Wings fan in the South, it's going to be great to have a reliable and quality source down here!

ESPN insider article re: Wing's deadline cap space
WingZNut13 replied to unsaddleddonald's topic in General
Kenny has never had money at the trade deadline so I'm not sure he knows what to do. He's like a college student who just found 100 bucks on the ground in the laundry mat. He is either going to sit on it and try to acquire a good UFA this offseason (depending on where the Wings sit in playoff standings) or pick up someone who will be an UFA this offseason. Two completely different scenarios. I hope he picks someone up at the deadline and avoid the massive contract one might have in the offseason. I know they'll have to restructure during the offseason but being there beforehand might lessen some of the cap hit they may take during the offseason signing. By picking up someone close to the deadline, we could seriously improve our standing towards the playoffs and to make a run at the cup. I'm excited as hell right now! The wings are 4-0 and have room for improvement on defense and the PP. An acquisition at the deadline could boost our PP or defense could seriously strengthen this team exponentially. IF the Wings keep going on the early path they have established, we are in for a great season and a very exciting period prior to the deadline. "Get Er Done" Kenny! -
I think we are going to ride Hudler until he puts up 60+ points or gets in a fight with Matt Cooke. But even if both of these happened, I don't think people are ever going to get off of his case. I feel like he will stay healthy and Babs will figure out what line combos work best with a productive Hudler. I personally don't think Hudler is that great of a player but when he is surrounded by a line that challenges him to be, he steps his game up. I think Hudler has gotten his "NHL skates" back and finding the right line combo (signal in blueadams) will allow him to be productive as he was in the past.

Let's Go Wings!! Let's get 2 pts!! :siren: :siren:

I'm not watching the game but is our defense not there? Or are the Wild just capitalizing on our stupid defensive mistakes?
-
Do they have strippers or prostitutes in the locker room at each intermission? I just think that would be a logical reason why they quit at the end of most periods.
