Yeah I actually have a jersey similar to that one from last year. I am worried about game jerseys.

If they put the Amway name on the Jerseys, I am going to be furious. I think Detroit has worked so hard to build it's traditional image. If they do put the Amway logo on the jersey, I think it's going to destroy the image the the Illitch Family and the entire organization has worked so hard to build.

I was at the game also and that was my first game. I am going to the game in March this year. I'm with you on the rest of it, the fans in Nashville don't get much credit here but it is a great town. There are a lot of great fans there and yeah they will boo almost anything the Wings do but they are knowledgeable but not as knowledgeable as the wise sages in JLA. Nashville is closest to my hometown so that's the only place I've been but I have to say that I loved being there. The arena is nice! Very nice atmosphere. The crowd gets into every game and they love their Predators. I think this year, Nashville will be even more intense than previous years because they are expecting to compete in the division this year and possibly win it. I have heard some negative things about the fans in Dallas but all I can put on here is here-say so I won't be posting anything negative without experience.

I love a shootout. Honestly, I'm with martyrme19, I think the shootout has attracted new fans. But the 4v4 needs to go. I think they should do a 5v5 for 10 min and then go to a shootout. Shootouts almost always make the highlights and it needs to stay. The 4v4 for 5 min is just silly and waste. I like 5v5 hockey, that's why I watch. Keep the shootout, the 4v4 needs to go.

I'm sorry....not way he gets signed. I hate to burst ya bubble bud. I would love to have him in the Winged Wheel but I just don't think it's ever going to happen.

What about the quality of the games? (audio, video, audio/video lag, etc.) Honestly I don't want to watch "Pong" sized blocks floating around. I want to be able to watch them with the best quality.

Would y'all recommend Hockeystreams over CenterIce that NHL.com offers? I am too looking into getting into a subscription service where I can watch all the games. I live in the south and there are too many hockey games let alone Red Wings games broadcasted down here.

He has been a Wing since I started watching the Wings at the age of 8. Everyone here has hit it on the head....truly a genuine individual who loved the WIngs and loved hockey and was loved by all his teammates. I was shocked when I read this but I think it's for the best of the team. Drapes....thanks for everything you did! You truly will be missed and you hard work and character rival anyone else's as the best.

I tend to think that the author of this article makes some valid points but I think he overlooks some general thoughts. 1) There are fans who love to hate. They will sit by and watch waiting for failure just so they can say "haha told ya so". As everyone on LGW knows, there are several of those wonderful people here. 2) Just because there are a group of people who chose to hate doesn't mean the rest of us hate all the time. Yeah we have rough patches were we get frustrated and look for someone to blame but the majority of us that are level headed realize that it's normally just a phase and there is always a game or shot or save were we snap back into our senses. 3) As a kid, it's easy to love something. Your Dad or Grandfather love a team and have passion for that team so it's natural that you jump on the train. As an adult however, the aspect and views of the game change. As an adult, you are able to understand deeper and more intricate aspects of the game. As an adult, there are more things to criticize and hate than just wins, loses and championships. Although we all love wins and we all love to see the cup in Detroit, but this author assumes that we should all be kids and like them no matter what. At the end of the day, this guy is an idiot. As the sun sets, I am going to always love the Wings and always going to support them. Do I get made when Hudler steps on the ice? Sure! Do I get mad when some other team other than the Wings win? Sure! Do I get mad anytime NBC/Versus mentions Crosby? We aren't going there. I'm allowed to be mad, I give my money and time and heart to this team! Ya damn straight I'm gonna get mad if we aren't living up to my expectations. But just because I get mad for a few minutes or hours because we lost doesn't mean I hate the Wings and Holland, Babs, and the entire Illitch family should burn. This guy needs to learn what it's like to cheer for a team that has such high expectations and when those aren't met, he needs to realize people who invest whatever they invest are going to get mad.

I chose Hudler. He did have an awful season but I think he is more likely to come back and have a great season and be something valuable to the organization. I prefer Drapes over Huds but I think Hudler has more "left in the tank" and can bring more to the team longer. I'm hoping he goes bat s*** the first few months and when the trade deadline approaches, we will have something more expendable to trade.

I don't know about this season but next is a huge possibility next season. Is it too early to start talking about the Hall of Fame discussion?

I've heard the same thing since I was able to hear things about the Red Wings. It is ESPN and the article does have some validity behind it but I'm not gonna stay up at night wondering if the Red Wings are going to decline. We are always picking up guys out of the draft and other places to continue to bring top stars to the NHL. I don't see us not making the playoffs and all you have to do is make the playoffs and you get a shot at the cup. The Red Wings organization is NOT on a decline. The writers were probably just bored with nothing to write about so they went with something that they knew would draw some attention.

When does the current CBA expire? I tend to agree with you on the fact that bottom feeders can't compete because they don't have the money to pay these athletes what they think they deserve. Realistically, who could the Wings target next offseason? IMO, we have to find someone to take the leadership and skill role that Lids fils now
